Gent's,

I came across this video and I've never heard about this rifle - what's the story behind it? Are they comparable to AI & Sako? I see they're made in Bavaria - what else...just curious?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Unique Alpine TPG-1

The FNH Ballista, that competes for a military sniper contract (USSOCOM?), I think with the Remington MSR, is designed by Unique Alpine. The Ballista is a further development of the TPG 2 and its name in Germany is TPG 3. It's 7000,- € without extras.
The rifles are very accurate and have a good reputation. Unfortunately, the service is not so good, Unique Alpine is concentrating on the military market neglecting civilian shooters. As you can see the homepage is not up to date, e.g. the price list is from 2007.

Re: Unique Alpine TPG-1

Unique Alpine does not import the TPG-1 or TPG-2 into the United States. The TPG-3, or Ballista, will be imported into the US via FNHUSA which has co-developed the Ballista to meet military requiements and solicitations for .338 Lapua or multi-caliber, precision rifle platforms. Current TPG-1, 2, and Ballista rifles are made in Bavaria, Germany.

A commercial Ballista is planned for later this year. There is no firm pricing for the US commercial rifle yet and no set date for launch. Expect an anouncement on Sniper's Hide and other media outlets when that is ironed out.

BTW: Unique Alpine nor FNHUSA have anything to do with the Remington MSR except to compete with it for the same customers.
