Rifle Scopes UPS will not ship a scope

Went to usps was a breeze. I will not use Ups for any reason I do not like prejudice companies....
You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. I was returning a an “optical mount” to Arsenal inc. of Las Vegas and I’m in South Texas. The witch owner came to the front and said straight to my face, “I know that what you are shipping is either firearms or firearms related and WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH FIREARMS” . I then asked why don’t you open,y post these rules so other people don’t waste their time? She wouldn’t nor cared to answer me. She just waited till I took my package and left. I was so pissed. Where I live, it takes me about 60 minutes to get to the UPS hub. I was so furious. How she knew that Arsenal of Las Vegas was Associated with firearms just blew me out of the water.

Bullshit. I've shipped entire fucking rifles and shotguns via UPS, both to gunsmiths and to FFLs for transfer to a buyer, without a single incident.

I don't need any phone number from you. I know what I'm doing and I can tell you do not.
Dude, why such anger and hostility?
I think that uneducated employees and uneducated customers present more problems than anything else.
I suspect no is in your league ???. I simply was gobsmacked that a 60 year old women that was not present when I turned in my package came out sight unseen and proceeded to tell me she knew that Arsenal Inc. of Las Vegas is a company associated with the shipping of firearms and associated components. UPS HAS A POLICY that will not allow her to do anything of the sort. She then asked me is it firearms related? I knew if I lied and left the package, she would open my box after I left becuase on the manifest was written optical sighting system. Irrespective of whether or not it’s a firearm doesn’t matter, if it’s going to a firearm company then don't go to THAT UPS store. If anyone wants to know which one it is PM me. ???

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t have small gov’t, then say this is bullshit, we should sue a private company did not doing something I think they should.

You can’t support a cake shop maker’s choice for not making a cake for a gay wedding, and then not support a private company for turning down service they don’t believe in.

You can’t bitch about the left picking and choosing shit, and then pick and choose what you think a private company should do.

Well......you can, but that makes you an asshole.

The fact that third party stores can make up any rules about firearms seems to me to be grounds for a lawsuit (14th Amendment, equal protection clause for the 2nd Amendment). Just saying, a lawsuit against a single third party store would probably change all the 3rd party store's stances. You can't/shouldn't be able to discriminate providing a service to someone specifically because you don't like what they're shipping.

Might want to brush up on your constitutional law. 14th amendment is regarding governments passing laws. Has zero to to with private establishments.

I’ll go back to the cake shop owner, do you think he should have been required to make a cake for a gay wedding he didn’t believe in?

I disagree, based on the freedom of religion for the cake thing. There ain't no religion that prohibits the shipping of firearms.

I think you miss the whole point of Federal Laws being intended for "negative governance". They don't tell you what you can do, they tell you what you can't do...like violate someone's religious beliefs. Your points being argued are EXACTLY why we have the 14th Amendment; to delineate what deserves equal protections (1st & 2nd Amendments for example) and what doesn't.

As far as being an asshole...wouldn't be the first time someone attached that moniker to me. Doubt it'll be the last.

You seriously have no idea what the 14th amendment does.

It prevents state governments(and in some cases the federal government) from passing laws that discriminate.

Zero......I repeat zero to do with private
business.

The 14th amendment does NOT tell you, me, or any business what it cannot do. It tells the GOVERNMENT what it cannot do. Exactly like the 4th amendment only pertains to GOVERNMENT intrusion into privacy and detentions.

That is what anti-discriminatory laws do. NOT the 14th amendment.

You know how stupid leftists that don’t know how to use a firearm look when they try to makes sense of gun grabbing? This is how the other side looks when they try to interpret laws the other way.

Sigh...and inhibiting the rightful use, transfer and repair of a legally protected firearm guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment because you don't like firearms is not discrimination how?

Because gun owners are not a protected class.

Even if we were, it would not fall under the 14th amendment unless the government attempted to pass a law restricting that class. Not a private business.

For any of your argument to work, you would have to get a court (and eventually the Supreme Court) to rule gun owners as a protected class.

Even then, the 14th amendment would only restrict the government from passing laws that discriminated against that class, not force a private company to cater to such class.

What if UPS decided they wouldn’t ship anything that had to do with abortion? Would you argue that people who wish to get an abortion should be a protected class?

What if they said they won’t ship anything transgender related? Force them to ship that?

You are correct just the part where it's not ups policy to not ship optical gear of any kind. If it was I would have kindly walked away. If u own a McDonald's franchise you cant sell a whopper because you dont like Big Mac's.

I've never shipped a firearm related part... But I have shipped a LOT of "Spanner Wrench's".

Most lackey's smart enough to work at a UPS Store or the likes don't know what that is, how much one should weight, or what it looks like (granted, a Spanner can be just about anything), so they don't bat an eyelash at shipping it.

I have received barrel brakes, 30rd magazines, bore guides, LPVOs, weaponlights, holsters, and other items that make me a felon in more restrictive states through UPS. They are on point and next day delivery is very competitive.

I shipped a Bronwing Silver back to Bronwing in its box Via UPS. Big black box with gold buck mark and Browning on the box. Hell it even had the label on it that said 28" 3.5 12ga and all. Granted this was a few years back so maybe somethings changed?

I even drove down to my local UPS terminal to pick it up.

How did they know what you were shipping?
3rd party stores are not UPS. I have shipped complete rifles to an FFL through UPS but not at a 3rd party store.
For everybody that has shipped firearms through a UPS main hub/customer center—-NOT 3rd party store, did you have to ship it via UPS Next Day Air, or did you use regular UPS Ground? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is even better as this is the legal contract between you and UPS as it relates to shipments:
https://www.ups.com/assets/resources/media/en_US/terms_service_us.pdf
https://www.ups.com/us/en/service.page

If you know what's in there, you will win. You may have to escalate to a supervisor or manager, but you will win.

This I know because a) I deal with terms and conditions for work all the time and b) I've won every argument (not many) that I have received from UPS employees re shipping firearms by citing where to find the correct answer in the Terms & Conditions/Tariff.

Tried to ship a scope via Ups 3rd party store and was refused. Called corporate to ask what was the issue they told me that any part to a gun could not be shipped. This is Ups policy. UPS accepts firearm parts for shipment, provided the part is not a "firearm" as defined under federal law; the contents of the package cannot be assembled to form a firearm; and the package otherwise complies with federal, state, and local law. (Note:Receivers or frames of a firearm and firearm mufflers/silencers (also referred to as suppressors) are considered "firearms" and are accepted for transportation only if shipped in accordance with UPS's requirements for shipping firearms.) I must be missing something????
That’s total bullshit. I’ve shipped a damn gun through UPS.

I dropped my Browning off at my local UPS store and had no problems.

Ive had several problems with various store fronts of several shipping companies... the bottom line usually is that the company will ship what ever you want. The individual you happen to be talking with is just an idiot and rejects anything firearm related.

The moment you mention any trigger words such as; trigger, assult rifle, gun, firearm, powder, primers, pistol grip, flash hider, telescoping stock and apparently scope, its all over.

Anything firearms related i just tell them the box contains “tools for precision work”... i mean, its not a lie.

"Precision machined metal parts"

They don't need to know shit. ????
