Re: UTAH STATE SNIPER SHOOT - Sept 11, 2010
UPDATE:
9/11/10 Utah State Sniper Shoot Update
60 shooters:
Spent many hours with Safety officers and range management figuring out how to run more shooters through. Not everyone reads Snipers Hide all the time and didn't get the notice we were full. We got many paid entry forms we were not expecting.
With renting more space and getting some range help included, we can run and another squad. So now we can run up to 60 shooters. BUT THAT WILL BE THE LIMIT. Please call me or email me to get added to the list. 801 599 1574
Friday shooting:
You may shoot all you want on Friday Sept 10. Do the daily range sign in and pay the $5 daily range fee to the range office. You must sign the guest register in the range office every day you are at the range. First time visitors to the range need to sign a range waiver.
Camp or Hotel:
You may camp at the range for $8 per night. Tent, truck or RV. It's a dry camp, no facilities except nice restrooms close by and a RV dump. Many shooters have stayed at the Holiday Inn at the West end of the town of Price.
Match sign in - info packet:
Everyone that comes in on Friday please do the “match” sign in and get the info packet to relieve pressure Saturday morning. At match sign in you must declare what firearms you will be using – builder, model, caliber. You get your choice of three firearms.
Saturday Morning:
Sign in at the range office Saturday morning starting 7:30. Also do the match sign in if you didn't do it the day before. Daily range fee for Saturday comes out of the $55 match fee. No shooting Saturday morning before match.
Read “sign in packet” information:
Read all information contained in sign in packet. It will save a lot of time in shooter meeting. It will have shooter # and squad assignments. Also range rules , range map and plan for the day.
Shooter Meeting:
8:30 am will be mandatory shooter meeting.
Equipment:
Limitations on equipment are minimal, BUT:
You and equipment must be safe.
You must be able to move with the course of fire. Bipods are best, ruck sacks are ok for the front rest. Fist or small sand bag are best for the rear rest. Shooting sticks could possibly come in handy. All equipment must be at the firing line when the stage starts.
Accuracy is all important.
Time it takes to move to another shooting position, get sight picture and pull trigger can and will make a difference in score.
.22 rimfire does not activate the pistol steel very well. Anything less than .223 will not activate the carbine steel. All steel must be activated to get the points. Rapid fire will be important with both pistol and carbine.
I will answer any other questions about equipment you have.
HAVE A NICE DAY
