Vegas/Jason Aldean Concert Shooting

Isnt that unusual at all. Here in Charlottesville we have the same sort of situation. A huge out door venue surrounded by tall buildings. Ives seen thousands packed into that small space. I talked to our chief of police Tim Longo about what a guy or two with ar's and lots of magazines could do, and he just shrugged it off.

Bet he would listen today. Why is it that so many fail to understand evil and how all it needs it an opportunity.

Guys, who wants to give me some seed money to start a multi-billion dollar company?

I've been looking all over and haven't found any sexy backscatter equipment suitable for high-end vegas casinos and hotels. All the options so far look like stupid hospital/tonka truck bullshit. It'll be an instant hit. Let's do it.

I'll do all the R&D, design, architecture, engineering, and implementation for the first prototypes then we can outsource the production. I just need some grade A sociopaths to sell this shit, and someone to handle the business side.

The second aspect which I would also like to dominate is the software baked on top, so no technicians are required to sit and monitor the output. Using machine learning and data provided by companies already doing the shit (probably gonna cost a lot unless we get a .gov contract) I can build a nifty system for identifying suspicious items which could be investigated by security agents.

These things could be installed in entryways, hallways, elevators, bathrooms, etc, in a way that doesn't hinder the usual flow of pedestrian traffic, luggage, and vehicles. They'd look sexy as fuck, too. Not like the stupid shit at the airports.

Someone is GOING to do this, and we're gonna have scanners ever-damn-where. Better to be our scanners, no? At least then we can be billionaires.

sorry man i can say whatever the fuck i want, if you dont like it go fuck yourself

saying what we want goes both ways. If you're that big of an idiot that you can't see that, you need help and not worth my time. Being a smalli-minded person resorting to spreading bullshit OPINIONS rather than waiting for facts only proved you're not worth any more of my time.

And no, I won't go fuck myself.

And...Ignore activated...

seriously, y'all. RE post #255, OSI is already gunning for the contracts, but their shit looks stupid. No hotel in vegas wants to have bulky cubic tonka toys looking like a cancerous tumor on their meticulously crafted hotels-as-a-work-of-art.

Let's get on it!

The Real Conspiracy will be the covering up of how inept, incompetent or corrupt LV is with security.

A tight confined group group of people. Tall buildings at close range. Yet no one watching from above. This ain’t 1960.

Not blaming the cops. It’s piss poor leadership or some one is getting an envelope at dinner to approve minimal security.

Their LEO execution seemed good. Planning not so good. If someone asked for it and it was denied? Will we ever know it?

Dude you are being a fuck-wit. Do you know how fucking small a wireless camera can be. SWAT was at the stairwell outside the door 2 minutes behind the street level LEO. The shooting was done at that point. shooting was over in approx 12 mins.

You want one or 2 "beat cops" to go up against an unknown number of people with what appears to be machine guns. What if 12 guys were in that room all with machine guns. Shooting had stopped, the need to act hastily was gone.

the first cop to get to the door should have went in, period

So nobody will be able to bring guns into a Vegas hotel and possibly other cities? LOL I guess you've never heard of the SHOT Show, that's almost exclusively held in Vegas. You think they want to give that up? Not a fucking chance and where in the hell are all of those attending going to stay with their firearms and gear? Do you think checking millions of dollars of possible prototype gear in when you go to your hotel is going to work? Again, not a fucking chance.

This was a major event and quite frankly the perfect scenario for what occurred, some overwatch would have changed the game completely and would have been pocket change compared to the amount of money these events brings.

Pearls before swine, I swear.. Literally some guy on the internet is offering blindly to all on this board the opportunity to make more money than you can spend in a lifetime, and y'all wanna keep arguing with some fruitcake about what he'd do in this situation if he encountered it while playing CoD Urban Shitbird 3 - Rise of the shitbird communist snowflakes.

WE CAN BUILD THE NEXT BRICK IN THE WALL, Y'ALL, AND INSTALL THAT BITCH FOR CRAZY PROFIT!

damnit... just.... damnit...

So nobody will be able to bring guns into a Vegas hotel and possibly other cities?
- Of course they can, but where previously people may not have known about it, now they know all about it. This faggot paddock wasn't at SHOT show, though. It's late September/early October and there's a concert going on out back, and he's got bags of guns. That's something someone might want to talk to the motherfucker about.

LOL I guess you've never heard of the SHOT Show
- Just cuz I never been doesn't mean I don't get the occasional stiffy looking at new funs on youtube.

You think they want to give that up?
- Not a fucking chance

Where in the hell are all of those attending going to stay with their firearms and gear?
- In the hotel

Do you think checking millions of dollars of possible prototype gear in when you go to your hotel is going to work?
- Not a fucking chance. Doesn't even matter.

This was a major event and quite frankly the perfect scenario for what occurred, some overwatch would have changed the game completely and would have been pocket change compared to the amount of money these events brings.
- Indeed, and I'm sure plenty of money will be made by LEO/contractors hired by event organizers to do just that, something similar to having to have police at weddings containing more than however many people, and liquor, in Texas. Part of the event expense is paying for cops to sit outside and make sure nobody goes overboard or tries to drive home when they have a hard time walking to their cars.

The scanners don't have to do anything but inconvenience people a little and make them feel safe, while also looking great. It's fucking childs-play and big dollars are on the line.

Ok so wire the entire place up. As already pointed out he was also a pilot and could have crashed a plane in there.

There are zero 100% effective countermeasures. Bad people will figure out how to do bad things.

The goal with this shit is not to actually provide security, it's just to make tons of money. There's hundreds of millions of ways to kill lots of people, it's almost entirely pointless to even try to resist by restricting freedom and shit. The only real way to be kinda sorta be secure is to have a well armed, humble, honest, and extremely vigilant society, but we don't have that. We have people who routinely kill/maim each other because they want to type LOL R U SRS while driving.

The scanners are easy tech that people trust even though they routinely don't do shit to prevent anything. The people who make them, though, get tons of fucking money.

So are you suggesting this was a plot by a shadow corp to instill enough fear that tech solutions are the logical countermeasure and they are waiting in the wings to roll out this tech?

Serious question not following what you are driving at.

I dont know about that but it wouldnt surprise me anymore.

President Cheney started a war to enrich Haliburton.

And got away with it.

So please explain to me when/who will me allowed to take weapons beyond these devices? Only when there's major outdoor events in Vegas? Good luck, that's every day. What would stop someone from deceiving security when questioning the "why"?

Your idea isn't going to work, period. All it may do is give an illusion of safety to the masses but anyone with the mental capability to plan something like this won't even see it as a speed Therefor it will do absolutely nothing to stop the problem.

If you think your idea is that great www.invstor.com... I'd expect crickets.

I can't answer that, but enough fear was instilled. Opportunity to make billions is on the table for whoever has the nuts to do it right for the top-tier hotels and casinos, and eventually lots of other places, too. Currently, the competition looks like ass. No one wants it.

So please explain to me when/who will me allowed to take weapons beyond these devices?
- That's a matter of corporate policy. That's not my business.

What would stop someone from deceiving security when questioning the "why"?
- Nothing, but presumably the security folks out there have some decent training. It's Vegas, after all. All manner of scumbags roll there.

Your idea isn't going to work, period.
- Neither do the scanners at airports.

All it may do is give an illusion of safety to the masses but anyone with the mental capability to plan something like this won't even see it as a speed Therefor it will do absolutely nothing to stop the problem.
- That's all anyone wants these days. That right there is $$$$.

If you think your idea is that great www.invstor.com... I'd expect crickets.
- Yeah, maybe. I think it'd be easier to get paid upfront from the casino's themselves, or gov grant.

But with this tech, a whole new dataset can be created on millions of Americans. That's another huge opportunity.

WHO - who the person is (rfid tags in hotel keys)
WHAT - **NEW** what shit are they carrying on their person? What's in their bags?
WHEN - timestamps
WHERE - hotel, which node they crossed
WHY - can't read their minds, yet. That's not on the table.

I'd sign up and be the sociopath you need. Even though it won't prevent these things from happening, all of Vegas is going to want to invest and say they did their due diligence to improve its surveillance and security. Good eye.

Dude you're living in a fantasy world. Do you have any fucking clue how many harassment and discrimination lawsuits would come from your idea unless the hotel had a very strict no firearms policy?

Airports are a completely different story, they have strict firearms policies in place at all times and they're one size fits all.

Getting paid up front by the hotels? LOL!!! Yes, I'm sure they're all eager to write you a check for an idea that nothing good will come from.

The reason these aren't already in play is because the hotels know that they might as well flush their money down the drain.

Eacuse me if I don't want more security. That is a false sense of security.

I feel for the victims and families, and I'm also ashamed of my country for politicizing every fucking tragedy with total disregard to these people.

The amount of pure bullshit coming from this is just amazing. Melting suppressors, magic rifles, politics, gun ban bullshit, ban this, ban that, more background checks (I honestly don't know how fucking many more times they can check my goddamn background per weapon). Patiently waiting FOURTEEN MONTHS for my last suppressor purchase isn't long enough all of a sudden. Now it's "imagine how worse it could have been if: he had another minute, or more powerful weapons, or suppressors, or explosives, or this or that. Now a dickhead with obviously zero math knowledge is invoking math and parabolic arcs to explain why it was so deadly, how because of the arc of the bullet, the victims were at risk of being hit twice. TWICE! Dude, WTF?

It's looking a lot like it's either politically motivated, personal (lost it all gambling, wife left him, etc.) or both, which doesn't surprise me given the vitriolic language used to "discuss" politics on here as well as elsewhere. This guy could very well have been helping weed out "white privilege" --who knows? Remember pizza shop fucker? I beg you guys to tone it the fuck down, not all of us see repulsicans and democraps as the basis for everything, let alone even important. Corrosive language and anyone in disagreement is denigrated and demonized. "United" States? This land is as divided as Iraq and like Iraq, I seriously doubt both sides can be brought to the table without bloodletting at this point. It's all building pressure and nobody wants to scale it back. "United" --it's all the more ironic because of how this country historically labels shit that isn't true, like the "patriot" act or "dreamer act" or "affordable healthcare act". We're no more united than healthcare is affordable or govt. domestic spying is patriotic or giving our limited resources away to illegals helps this nation achieve a dream.

The truth and facts have no place in America today. Division, lying, massive wage gaps, corruption, prisons and laws galore, and in general, just typical third world shit does. I guess I'd feel better if everyone came out and at least admitted that this place is nothing more, nothing less than a 3rd world nation with a bloated government and grossly overcompensated greedbag elite class. But it's hard to be honest with others, let alone yourself, when just about everyone has their heads in the sand and their thumbs up each others asses.

Please stop with the conspiracy theories, like not just politically motivated but politically assisted, that there were multiple shooters or he had help or some of you "experts" heard belt fed weapons. I heard suppressed weapons at first --due to shitty audio, thank god he didn't have any of those and no Hitlery, not because I'm "imagining how many more deaths there could have been" but because of how your smiling ass would use that to your advantage to further your agenda.

Please tone the shit down, what if the next shooter is somebody on here all fired up and amped up by a member's political rants and rages?

I agreed with it being a belt fed weapon. I hear multiple 12 plus seconds of full cyclic fire. The sounds didn't come from the guns the news got pics of. I assume you spent time downrange and can tell the difference between the rate of fire, and amount of fire (full cyclic bursts) of an M16 and a GP machine gun. At least you ought to know the difference.

And no, it's not a conspiracy. The Democratic party leadership is VERY anti-gun. That doesn't mean all Democrats are anti-gun. Sen. Max Baucus (D.-Mont) helped us continue to get surplus ammunition, pull down bullets and once fired brass, that military leaders were keeping from us. The first politician to introduce legislation when Obama got elected to re-institute the "Assault weapons ban" was a Republican. The Republican party leadership SAY'S they are pro 2A...I can't say I believe much in Washington anymore.

It's not a conspiracy. It's an OVERT action by people who think they own us in Washington, to take away the Second Amendment.

A lot of Americans are more than willing to give up freedom for a false sense of security. As far as hotels go, what side of the fence would you want to be on? We are doing our best to protect our guests or we could but did nothing?

This is not the same America of the 1940s hell it's not even the same of the 1990s...

- So are you, man. Right is wrong, wrong is right, women are men, men are women, white women are NAACP presidents, perpetual war, illegal immigrants aren't criminals. Whatever potential fallout might come from the very act of having this equipment there will be legislated away, and any discriminatory issues would be mitigated by having machines determining who looks 'suspicious'.

Airports are a completely different story, they have strict firearms policies in place at all times and they're one size fits all.
- This is the reason this shit isn't in hotels yet. Hotels aren't 1 size fits all, they need distinction and pizazz.

Getting paid up front by the hotels? LOL!!! Yes, I'm sure they're all eager to write you a check for an idea that nothing good will come from.
- You'd be surprised. I got an A on my persuasive writing assignment.

The reason these aren't already in play is because the hotels know that they might as well flush their money down the drain
- You knock one down, the rest will fall. Being able to go to a hotel without being undressed by high frequency and heavily scrutinized by a machine won't always be an option.

This shit started with the court houses and metal detectors, evolved in airports with the naked body scanners, evolved to be more palatable for the masses with the simplified images that don't show the goods and slightly less harmful technology, and will continue to evolve into something that's pretty damn prevalent in everyone's lives.

Banks, grocery stores, events big and small, hotels, casinos, schools, police stations, subways, hospitals, etc.

I can just hear the maids....

"I must have listened to the machine gun fire 20 times yesterday. I have fired a bunch of FA and the cyclic rate sounded wrong for an AR15. I went to YouTube and pulled up some videos of FA 15s to re-familiarize myself with the sound and they did not sound like what I heard on the newsfeeds. Maybe it was echo or something to explain it but I swear it sounded more like a slower belt fed type of weapon to me."

I have some experience with a number of full auto weapons including: AK47, M16, Hk91, M60, MAC-10 to name a few. I have also observed a ton of belt feds in action from M2, to MG42. IMO the sounds from the video did not sound like a real M16. Too slow and some changes in cadence that occurred. The cyclic rate sounded to be about 500-600 according to my tuned ear. A good sound engineer can pin this down exactly.

Sounded more like a AK, M60 speed or some form of home-made full auto system. MAC-10 and MG42 are much faster (1200 rpm). This shooter's weapon(s) sounded closer to 500-600 rpm. I am sure that the echos affected the sound somewhat as well. I have shot the M16 the most and it is faster. 800 rpm depending on the barrel length/gas tube length. I heard long bursts of at least 9 sec? longer? 9 sec at 600 rpm is what? 90 rds? Who makes 90-100 rd mags? A 2 second google search for AR15 drum mags pulled up two different kinds of 100rd drum and long box mags. A homemade auto-sear/bump fire system is possibly going to cycle a little slower than the real McCoy? If so, it could be a converted semi-auto with some of those large capacity mags. True, legally transferrable NFA weapons are not that common, do not hit the market often and are very pricey. Even a wealthy sociopath is not going to want to spend the cash needed to buy several machineguns let alone wait 10 months for ATF to do their snail imitation. I hope not anyway. I cannot imagine the helpless felling of being out in that crowd with nowhere to run.

No matter what the motive or the methods, this POS, poor excuse for a human being is now hopefully roasting in Hell. I just wish I knew better what he was thinking? It is a bad day. And the mealy mouthed Ryan pulled the SHARE bill vote? What a coward.
