Virginia Democrats pre-file assault weapons ban SB-16. Line in the sand has been drawn.

I think the left is going "full-tard", because Pres. Trump was not one of "them". He is draining the swamp, slowly-but-surely and exposing how crooked/corrupt our .gov really is and they don't like it. There's quite a few Congressmen/women, that are sweating it out, big time. If Hilderbeast would have been in the top spot, it would have been "status quo", but Trump broke the chain. We will be in a very divided country before too long, but when it happens, I hope we can build a wall around us and have a no-fly zone, to keep the shit from draining back in, but you can only clean the shit house out so many times, before you have to fill the hole and dig a new one. Mac:mad:

Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.

Ummm... yeah... I think this would fall under "Prior Restraint." Unconstitutional. First Amendment violation.

Naaaaa.... they really mean what they're saying literally, and you can trust them to not abuse it. ;) It's for our own safety!

Just kidding. Of COURSE they'll twist it to put the screws to us... just like the ever-changing definition of the mythical "assault weapon."

Maybe we’ve got it all wrong and this has been written to weed out an jail ANTIFA types. Hahahahaha

No grandfather clause....so they will likely be looking at implementing wholesale confiscation and resort to all measures and strategies for identifying “violators”.

Among those strategies is likely to be large scale data mining, in particular of Va-specific and national gun and pro-2A sites like this one.

VA residents posting pics of their set ups here and other sites and social media platforms should start scrubbing all such pictures or related content that can potentially tie themselves to the banned items.

Not trying to spread paranoia but the tech exists and of course was developed by gun grabbing cucks:

Question: Are any VA - based pro2A groups drafting up legal challenges to this fucking shit so it’s ready to go? Would seem that DC v Heller would on its own nullify this bill given it bans the sale and possession of common use arms with NO Grandfather clause.... All pistols as well as AR15s/AK47 clones and the like are considered “common use” for constitutional purposes per that ruling.
Virginia Citizens Defense League
Moving to make counties 2A Sanctuaries, several have moved to notify newly elected sheriffs of the potential of recall.

And they are going further than just guns. They are going after training and such. Go to the range and teach your buddy better trigger control, let's make that a felony.

OK... So, I just discovered Florida (my home state) has the same law... minus the "assembly / parade / demonstration" ban, which is, of course, a 1st Amendment violation. Also note that the Florida law specifically exempts traditional firearms training.

So, the way I see it, the VA state congress screwed itself by inserting an unconstitutional "poison pill" into their law. Because of that one unconstitutional provision, the entire law will be struck down in court.

I would suggest to the VA patriots that they fight the proposed laws vigorously through activism and legal channel but keep their powder dry for another day - for the following reasons:

- These proposed 'laws' are merely a metastasis of a systemic cancer that has befallen the entire US. Even if the VA socialist back down to threats, the national socialist elite will not rest until they have gained absolute power by controlling the house, the senate, and the presidency - which may be as early as next year.

- After decades of indoctrination, the majority of millennials favor socialism. Together with immigration this creates a demographic tide that you cannot fight head on.

- Additionally, the left controls the propaganda machine. Every violent uprising against their agenda will be pitched as terrorist acts committed by a lunatic, extremist fringe and the sheeple will applaud more nullification of rights as we saw with the 'Patriot' Act.

Again, keep in mind that the traitors proposing these laws in VA are backed by a legal majority there.

The only way to fight this socialist cancer is to turn the current sympathizers and supporters of the socialists against their masters. This is how socialistic regimes eventually end anyway because "Sooner or later, socialists run out of other people's money" as Maggie Thatcher quipped.

If those people preferring the US Constitution over some socialist agenda do not want to wait 20+ years for the sheeple to wake up, they chould take advantage of a major weakness that the socialists have in this country.

Here in the US, the allure of socialism is a first world problem. The 'proletariat', those who actually produce the items everyone needs to live stand on the right. The left's power base consists almost exclusively of consumers of these goods in or near affluent metropolitan centers and is a volatile mix of strange bed-fellows ranging from violent gang bangers and the free-shit-army to paranoid soccer moms and their pampered kids. These groups get along for a common 'just' cause as long as life is good and the promised free shit is delivered. Once the supplies get scarce, these groups will turn on and eat each other. It will not take long for the survivors to realize that the 'new deal' they voted for was a deal with the devil.

If (or when) a federal gun confiscation after the next presidential election causes violent clashes between a pro-2A insurgency and the elected socialist government, the insurgency should realize that the socialists have to keep their supporters happy in the metropolitan shit holes while simultaneously fighting the insurgency. Any denial of food, electricity, or water to the leftist strong-holds, will weaken the rulers more than a direct attack on their goon squads. No matter how .gov spins the cause of hardship in the cities through their propaganda machine, people will get pissed at their elected masters when they go hungry. Especially those who expect the government to take care of everything.

Once the tide of support has turned, it's time for a recall and then -and only then- should anyone consider spending time on building gallows for the traitors.

With this strategy, the insurgency would essentially just accelerate the inevitable downfall of a socialistic redistribution scheme.

I think state partitioning is something we will start to see going forward. Democrats are all concentrating in metro areas and constantly voting and making decisions counter to the interests and desires of the rest of the state (not to mention the Constitution).

This is true of every so called “blue” state for the most part.

It’s the one possible political solution that can work, at least in the short-medium term, in lieu of a Civil War. Longer term will require more long term solutions.

The reason I suggest this is it is legal.
I love Texas to death but we need to cut out about 5-10 cities to keep it Texas.

Call it Old Texas, sadly I will have to move out of my county, whatever it takes to stop this mess is what I will do.
County by county vote should do it.

Secession on any level is not a viable solution.

The Socialists will not rest in their quest to conquer and re-educate everyone and everything. Why do we even have to deal with this here in the USA? Because Socialists do not stay in their shit-holes.

They migrate from California to Texas and from Europe to the USA. They spread in the schools and universities like a cancer and now you have nearly half of the people in this country supporting philosophies that have led to the death of hundreds of millions of people, either through famine or eradication of dissidents. This is a mental disease that you cannot contain geographically especially not against globalist supporters.

Someone needs to take out billboards around the capital that show the FBI Crime Stats,

In a Country with 322M people, we have less than 500 deaths from so Assault Rifles, that should be highlighted compared to everything they ignore

I would do a buy and plaster these numbers all over the place.

We know there was twice as many knive deaths, fists, and feet, etc.

Agree...we all know the Dems manage to the exception rather than the rule, and they do this to justify passing laws and rules designed to erode/take away freedoms.

classic nanny-state mentality that asserts the government knows what’s best for you more so than you do. That personal accountability is not necessary as the state will “take care of you”

There is no aspect of our lives that they exploit more frequently and effectively than the basic human need to feel safe and secure.

Instead Of empowering individuals to play an active role in ensuring we are safe, they make it harder for law abiding citizens to own their own safety. They force feed us the false choice fallacy that states you can’t be both safe and free.

The end state is a place where only criminals and the government bear arms.

Ben Franklin had seen it all before and address it with his quote about trading liberty for security -NEVER EVER DO IT!

On its face, I like your idea. I have been fighting and advocating in this battle for a LONG time. I'm very active, in that regard, on social media. I blog about it. I write my representatives. And, I've even appeared on national TV (got lucky).

And, as a "man of science" (I'm a dentist), I am well-versed in statistical analysis, scientific studies, and vetting facts from multiple independent sources. I am quite good at citing statistics and references. Here's what I've found (and am finally realizing)... I'm using FACTS to argue against / debate EMOTION. It doesn't work. I'm really quite GOOD at it, and it doesn't work. I've tried and tried and tried. The only successes I've had are with people "on the fence."

To argue against emotion, you have to use an emotional appeal. It's not easy. I don't mean GETTING "emotional" in the debate. I mean appealing to THEIR human emotions with our debate points. That twice as many people are murdered with bare hands and feet as are with rifles means NOTHING to our philosophical opponents. They are our opponents, but we really want the same thing: To FEEL and BE safe. The problem is that they have been misled about the path to that goal. They've become unwitting "useful idiots" to those with a political agenda to CONTROL EVERYONE, under the GUISE of "safety."

So, I thought about your idea and came up with a twist. Billboards with split frames. On the left half... photo and story about a crime victim who could not defend herself. On the right half... a crime victim (same type of crime) who WAS able to defend herself. We've got to use an EMOTIONAL appeal! Stories sell. People love stories. Stories resonate (which is why I use them in my marketing).

I'd be interested in what you think about my twist, Lowlight. ?

Frank,

I think we are at a point where at least 1/4 of the left will openly admit that this is not about public safety but about weakening/destroying the opposition. Look at how gun owners are portrayed: Yesterday's racists that cling to bible and guns. A "basket of deplorables".

If it only were about guns, they could have the stupid things; I do not need an AR15 to assert my liberty. But this is about dismantling America as we know it. They are planning to burn the house down you and I are happy to live in. Look at their energy 'policy', nationalized health care, taxation, reparations, etc.

That being said, I think it is a great idea to raise funds for advertising, legal action, and ultimately to help those who will get caught in this mess.

Yes, of course. My point was that the infringement of the FIRST Amendment is more likely to get their attention. The liberals at least still pay lip service to the 1st Amendment. And, they unwittingly put a "poison pill" in their law that even they cannot deny.... infringing the right to Free Speech and Assembly.

what I would do is find gunshops in the area that might already have advertising, billboards and partner to take those over

You won't win the messaging argument because VA Shooters are already outnumbered by the media. They are already putting articles out that those who disagree are subverting the State.

You need to go old school on the messaging because the modern media has you beat

Great points about emotions being impervious to facts.

However, I see little emotional appeal in using lethal force to defend my life. It may become a necessity but certainly not a desirable one. I do not know how you guys feel about it but every time I holster up I pray to God that no knucklehead will force me to use the gun.

People who vote for a gun free America are under the illusion that .gov will take care of the bad guys, They are unwilling to take the risk of the social and legal fallout from deploying lethal force in self-defense.

I am glad you said that:

"...those who disagree are subverting the State."

Guns is just one issue. 1A, 4A, etc. is as much under attack as 2A

Certainly, I hope I'm never forced to defend myself that way. I've been carrying for about 25 years.... so far, so good. Good situational awareness and motivation to de-escalate any confrontation is key.

I agree that the gun-banners have been misled, some being delusional about "safety" being provided by a disinterested and often distant third party government agency.

The emotional appeal of a DGU story is that an innocent person has been saved. Ideally, an innocent victim with whom others can IDENTIFY. "She's just like me. That could have happened to me. That happened to my friend." And so on.

That's why I like the idea of contrasting stories.... one is an unarmed victim who has suffered as a result. The other is an armed victim who SAVED HERSELF. In NEITHER case was law enforcement there in time. Stories resonate emotionally with people. It's why stories have been used to educate the masses going back to the cave man days.

Statistics? They only appeal to nerds (like me). Statistics have not likely ever convinced anyone to..... here's the kicker... CHANGE. THEIR. MINDS. Statistics won't do it. In fact, many people today REFLEXIVELY dismiss statistics. They'll even say... "Statistics don't lie, but liars use statistics."

I do not want to ever have to shoot anyone and would only do so if it was a situation of me (my family) or them. I know people are animals and some value human life at zero, I would not have a problem defending myself of someone like that came after me or my family.

I had an interesting online discussion with an extreme anti gun person along these lines, and his bottom line was that he would never kill anyone ever for any reason and that was one reason he was anti gun.

He was a fairly wealthy person, meaning always bragging about his toys, and if a criminal were to rob his house, it would be a jackpot. He also had a wife and kids.

I asked him to post of a list of his valuables and pics of his wife, and I would spread the good news about the easy target on some parts of the dark web that he didn't know existed and then we will see how fast he becomes a 2A supporter. :D

I was joking of course, but it was interesting how he insisted he would not change his opinion even if attacked, he also would not give me his address. :)

This is a personal CHOICE. If you choose not to defend yourself or run away while your family is gang raped on a home invasion, that is up to you, but in my world you HAVE that CHOICE to make, in the leftist world, they make that choice for you.

I think there was a case where a young woman permanently deterred a home invader with her competition shotgun. That would be a good pro-gun/self-defense story.

Ironically, the people who want to deny adults the choice of lethal force against a culpable assailant in self-defense,
are the same people who insist on the choice of killing an innocent fetus for convenience.

Maybe the billboards should ask: "If you want the choice to kill a fetus that may inconvenience your life then why should I not have the choice to defend myself against a perpetrator who actually threatens my life."

There are hundreds of these stories every year. The media is completely controlled by people who do not care about the truth at all, in any way. If facts mattered in this we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

The truth has been on our side for more than 50 years, and we have constantly slid backwards. You guys are on the wrong stuff with trying to educate people who hate you and would gleefully hear news of your violent and painful death.

While true, there has to be a way to combat said manipulation and lies coming from the media, its pocketbooks, and the traitorous politicians. So if we cant side with truth, cant use facts, then what do we do? We have to do something, we cant just sit on our asses and let these pansy fucks steamroll us into oblivion. So, what’s the game plan?

The same reason I like this place is the same reason we fail time and time again with the leftists

We go with reason and logic, and they go with random babble that is emotion driven by social media and the thoughts of being able to live in a utopia. (a utopia where no one works, no one says bad words, no one causes harm, everyone eats their fav food everyday, etc, etc, etc)

You (and I) will not change enough demented leftists minds to make a difference. Their logic circuit is broken. They do not realize that some people are animals and will attack, rape, kill, etc if not stopped forcefully.

The only way to win this battle correctly is to get a SCOTUS ruling along the lines of the 2A applies to 'common/typical arm of the day' and then to define an AR15 and a glock as the common/typical arm of today (and leave that door open for when future weapons become the typical arm of the day).

Then tell the leftists to go change the constitution if they want to ban common/typical arms or STFU or leave the country.

Ok I agree but now we are all banking our self defense, in some cases livelihood, and our rights on one court. Now what happens should scotus rule in favor of the libtards? Then what? We need to plan for all possible outcomes. SCOTUS moves slower than a pregnant yak, how many other innocent gun owners are going to get stolen from, or even killed thanks to these dipshit laws before scotus acts?

Agree. You can see what my crystal ball shows here.

However, cooperating on a PR campaign or a rally would allow us to get to know each other in person and get organized for what comes down the road. VA is just the current tip of the iceberg.

So, what’s the game plan?

In Virginia, it has to be:
(1) get as much of the state in 2A Sanctuary as possible
(2) pressure existing lawmakers in Richmond to stop this unconstitutional bill
(3) get a lawsuit going against Richmond
(4) turn-out to vote in Nov '20 and take back the General Assembly (oldest law-making body in the world since 1619 something - hell yeah Old Dominion!)
(4) turn-out to vote in Nov '21 for a new governor (Northam can only run for 1 term)

There is a lot of grass root activity on going out in the Virginian countryside right now. I'm very optimistic, more so than I was last week.

I hope it works, those of us behind enemy lines in places like commifornia are watching, learning, and rootin. We have a uphill battle here. Of course the enemy libtards across the country, are also watching and (unbelievable they have the capacity to) learning.

I had an interesting conversation with one of my most liberal friends via text today. He was complaining about someone bending his ear about political stuff. After a few texts, I told him July 1, I'd be a felon. He asked what the deal was and I explained it. He said "But that law hasn't passed, it'll never pass". I asked him who would stop it since there's no opposition party with a vote now. He told me there was no way that was going to happen and then said it wouldn't make sense. Told me that it wouldn't change gun violence at all because that's not the core. Went on to say the legislation needs to be working towards helping mentally troubled people if they really wanted to stop gun violence.

The most liberal guy I know, and believe me, he's out there, and he's saying this is stupid, makes no sense, and they need to leave gun owners alone and work on mental health issues.

So if the crazy liberal people think it's stupid and makes no sense, and we all think it makes no sense, exactly who's out there that thinks this makes a lot of sense?

Its better than trying to convince insane people to be sane. The insane behavior needs to end. I understand and support states rights, but the state cannot infringe on the BOR

We base everything in this country on one document, and that works out well when lawmakers follow that document

Some lawful body needs to end the libtard anti american anti constitution movement. Make them all terrorists

I fear the only other option has been talked about here often, it starts with a B and ends in an igloo

I am going to tell you that your liberal friend is a moderate. You have not met an insane liberal extremist if the above went down as you say.

I know many insane extremists and have had more conversations with them than I care to admit. Over the years those people have turned outright angry and violent towards me, where they once just disapproved of guns, but were ok hanging out with me, that has changed. I am now a child murder in their eyes because I own an AR

I got a more moderate liberal friend to come to the shooting range with me (and I brought out all the toys) he had more fun than he expected, he went out and bought a glock (he lives in VA and I still keep in touch with him even though I moved 2 years ago)

He is of the mindset that no gun restrictions would pass that would make a typical glock owner or typical AR15 owner a felon in VA. I sent him the bills, he claims he read them, he thinks I need a tin foil hat and says no one is coming to take guns away from Virginians. I told him that he has no understanding of what the democrat party has become if he believes that, and he needs to get more involved as a registered dem voter and glock owner.

He thinks I am crazy now

The left is so afraid we will use our guns during a boogaloo.... that they will out and out start one on purpose just to justify their fears.

Yep... I've had some friends... actual real life friends... wish me and my son dead... because of guns and politics.

One wished my son would be drafted and die in a war, because.... Trump. I knew that guy for over 20 years.

The other wished me dead because I'm an NRA member (he wished ALL NRA members dead, including me, his friend of over 2 decades).

Neither is my friend anymore.

Upon hearing these stories, many have "consoled" me, or dismissed the notion that liberals are so batshit crazy that they'd wish a friend or their friend's child DEAD, by saying, "Well... they weren't really your friends, then."

False. They WERE my friends. REAL friends and professional colleagues. They were not acquaintances. So, yes... liberals are THAT batshit crazy and would wish DEATH upon their friends who they "discover" are not exactly like them politically.

THAT is where we are in our society today.

FTFY

I must be slow tonight... trying to figure out what "FTFY" means. Well... I've got the "Fs" figured out. :)

Editing... I expanded the quote of my post and figured it out... I'm used to seeing it as "FIFY," not FTFY. Never mind. :)

That said... to me... liberals and progressive socialists are now one in the same. Liberals have become progressive socialists. I don't think I know any liberals who aren't progressives.

I created this graphic by superimposing two graphs and scaling the time lines (x-axis) so they coincide (using photoshop). The point is as plain as day. The data from both graphs were sourced from the FBI, but I had never seen them put together. So, I did this. :)

There's a saying in the world of science: "Correlation does not prove causation. But, correlation can DISprove causation."

So, even with this graph, we cannot conclude that "more guns cause less crime." But, we CAN DISprove that "more guns cause more crime," as is often asserted as "fact" by the gun banners.

I think the opposite trends are quite remarkable and dramatically disprove the notion that "more guns means more crime."

People like that do serve as pretty good human shields when an SHTF situation goes down. Obviously these folks do not believe in defending themselves from violence, so if you ever get caught in an active shooter situation, use them as a barrier between you and the threat.

You know the answer to this, you just don’t want to admit it

Agree. You can see what my crystal ball shows here.

However, cooperating on a PR campaign or a rally would allow us to get to know each other in person and get organized for what comes down the road. VA is just the current tip of the iceberg.

While I agree mostly, getting to know each other should be done on a much smaller basis. Participate in competitions and local training, be active at as many ranges as you can. Join a club.

If the last few years have shown me anything, it’s that any publicized and openly advertised gathering of even slightly right-of-center people will get infiltrated by shills at best, and corrupted, coopted, destroyed and subverted by enemies and alphabet bois at worst.

One need look no farther than the shit show of subversion and lies that spiraled out of Charlottesville to see that. I completely think that a massive gathering of counter-progressives is more destructive than productive in the world right now.

That kind if division and hatred is where civil wars come from.
We are in one right now... it just hasn’t progressed to the physical violence part yet.
But it will.

This guy gets it.

My adamant defense of the Constitution cost me my job of 34 years.

People that were once considered friends that turned thier back on the Constitution have been purged from my life. This includes family, the snowflake kids they raised, all of them.

None are welcome back and wouldn't give them a glass of water if choking.

They turned liberal, voted democrat, and don't support 2a.
They are out forever don't care if they are blood related.

When shtf they are on thier own.

That is harsh reality.

Drinking coffee, not a drunken rant.

Very literally 2x as many people die from injuries sustained falling out of bed every year in this country than do from rifle shots.
