Thoughts on: -- Vortex Ranger 1000 -vs- Bushnell 1300 G-Force ARC -- Or other suggestions for 1st LRF purchase on a budget of $400 or under.

Cannot afford Leica. Apologies if this bout has been discussed already. Obliged.

vortex has a lifetime warranty, and is TINY. the bushy i have no idea.

the vortex can get junipers at 700 if you're real still.

I looked at both of them recently.
The Bushnell was nice but the view was to busy for me.
The Vortex has less busy view.
I bought the Vortex and it has performed quite well this hunting season and at the local range.

If you look around, you can usually find a Bushnell ARC 1600 for under $400. I got mine new from eBay for $320. I can easily get readings at 1500 yards on trees or the side of a hill.

I bought the Vortex and hated it. I couldn't range a metal barn at 600 with it. Check ebay, also got a Bushnell 1600 for $350.00

I have a vortex ranger 1000 and I really like it.... It dosnt have ballistic calc inputs or multiple ctg busy stuff. It offers a straight line of sight and a angle compensated distance reading and I happen to like the simplicity of it. I can range a juniper @ 6-700 yds off hand with little effort and in all reality that's as far as I will ever shoot a critter. I have had the leupold rx1000 and a few cheaper bushnells but I much prefer the ranger.

I have writen a couple of reviews here about the Bushnell G-Force 1300 ARC, Its alot better than most people realize, No it does not have a Lieca Sticker or a Terrapin sticker But it will range trees 300yards + further than Bushnell quote 900yards and I have Ranged Sheep to 881 Yards, If they put a Lieca badge on it people would be happy to pay $850.00 for it. and its bomb proof nigh On,
