Been looking for a budget scope for my AR and narrowing it down to these 2 choices. Both are within my budget are right around 12" in length (trying to keep my setup relatively compact). Primary use will be shooting on paper at 100-200yds. Was definitely looking for at least 9x so I can see bullet holes and can really drill down on the targets. Any other scopes I should consider at this price point?

I took a quick look at Redfield Revolution 4-12x as well but am leaning to the aforementioned scopes..

Thnks for weighing in - anyone have experience with both of these?
The FOV looks better on the Vortex but have read mixed reports on glass/parallax

To further complicate the issue - I just stumbled on the redfield revolution 4x12 which is essentially the same length as the others and also seems to be well reviewed

Thats a tough choice. I would honestly say that the scopes are about equal glass wise having had both. Weaver gets the plus for having a tactical style turret and Vortex gets a big plus by having a 30mm tube. If i were in your shoes i would look at which reticle you want and what kinda deal you can find right now. If it were me the 299 price from Midway would be hard to pass up.

I am a HUGE Vortex fan, and that would be my choice out of the 2 that you mentioned. However, I wouldn't count out the SWFA 10X with Mil-Quad reticle... Just my $0.02 worth.
