Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

If you like shooting 10 round groups come join us over here

Shot my Vudoo indoors today for the first time since this bullshit rona virus shut down the range and it was splendid! Shot two practice groups at 50yd to warm up (not pictured) and then shot at the little Instagram logo for a 0.3” group at 50yds (Ballistic-X doesn’t give you the option for 50yd yet). Took it out to 100yds after that and shot the middle square 10times for a 0.67” group. All shot with Center X. This Proof carbon barrel has exceeded my expectations fully! View attachment 7319638

Better stock up on that lot #! 🤠

Hey guys, for anyone who is interested I just dropped Dedicatedshooter a Vudoo magazine in the mail so he can make some Kydex mag carriers for it. He has an ad up down in the PX. I have been looking for one made for the Vudoo mag instead of just the AICS version. SAP has them but I like his a little more based on what I’m seeing. He has some great prices so you may want to take a look if you need one.

I have Ballistic X on my iphone and on it if you tap on the 100 that pops up you can put in whatever number you like. Like this.

I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say you might see me hanging around this section. I recently ordered a full build V22. I was told on May 6th when I placed the order it was approximately an 8 week wait. This is going to be the longest 8 weeks ever. It made the 4 week wait on the scope not seem so bad. Look forward to seeing peoples rifles and groups.

You will not be disappointed and it is worth the wait. Mine pretty much loves anything with a Lapua/SK label on it. I’ve also found mine likes the cheap GECO ammo for practice.

I have almost a full case of CCI SV that I hope shoots halfway decent. There is also a few bricks of R-50 and Tenex on the ammo shelf that doesn't shoot all that great in my other rifles. My plan for now is to shoot up the stuff I have then hit the Lapua test range in the spring.

Sorry to tell u this but Cci sv is pretty poo for this rifle wrong size. It uses a lapula chamber. Sk will be best bet for cheap ammo. I'm now looking a 22lr that will shoot Cci sv well.

No issues shooting CCI Standard Velocity out of mine, when I did this ammo test.
However, since then, I've only been shooting SK Standard Plus and SK Magazine for practice.
Lapua Center-X gives the best results out of mine, so far.

I will re-visit this ammo test again, now that I've put over 1,000 rounds through it,
sometime in the near future. I'd like to try some Geco, RWS, and Eley, for good measure.

There are quite a few posts in this forum re CCI SV in the Vudoo. My experience has been:
  • The tolerances for the ammo are pretty wide, especially as regards rim thickness. This will affect feeding.
  • If you can close the bolt on it, you can shoot it - this per @RAVAGE88. Stuffing the long bullet skirt into the lands won't hurt the rifle but there's a good chance you will be unable to extract/eject the unfired round.
  • Due to the aforementioned tolerances, accuracy can be inconsistent, across lots and from round to round.
    - I just started into a new case which actually feeds more easily than any lot before it. Yay, since 5k rounds of it.
    - I use CCI SV for positional practice on 2-3MOA targets out to 100 yards.
    - Past that, it's luck. Even within that envelope, there are plenty of WTF moments.
    - But at a fraction over 5 cents a round, compared to 20+ cents for Center-X, it works just fine for PRS positional practice.
Wrt Eley Tenex with its flat nose: I tried Eley Edge and Eley Match in my MPA-chassis'ed V-22. The Edge didn't do well. The Match was as good as Center-X. Problem was, in my rifle, the flat noses all too often jammed into the front of the mag, causing a jam that all too often required dropping the mag to clear. Royal pita, on the clock. Other Vudoo people report Edge/Match/Tenex feeds just fine.

Back to CCI SV: if you have it, run it. Ain'ta'gonna hurt the rifle.

Those are some nice looking targets. Has anybody noticed any difference between the aluminum and polymer/plastic magazines? is there any advantage from one over the other? It's nice you can get the 12 round magazines but I see only offered in aluminum. I,m guessing, but could be wrong, the 15 round aluminum mags look like they could get a little awkward because they are getting quite long.

I shoot a lot of cci standard velocity and subsonic through my vudoo. I can get it local and in bulk. It's done well for me. No, it won't extract a live round but my rifle won't extract a live round of any brand. Sk and lapua included. Sometimes the bolt is a little stiff closing but I think that's more due to rim thickness than the bullet engraving. It seems to have gotten better with time. Probably 3,500 rounds through the rifle at the moment.

Shot this last Saturday in a gusty NE wind at 13mph. Where I shoot from is open to the east but my range is bordered by trees the rest of the way to the target. As the wind tops the trees and drops over into my pasture it swirls in about three different directions. 7 out of 10 ain't bad considering the conditions. Cci sv at 186 yards on 3" steel.

Thank you for the advice on the SK S+. Will definitely give that a shot as well.

Which case is that? It fits so well.

I just ordered a Vault V730 and waiting on Pelican to ship it which I think will fit very similar to your above picture. Also my Terminus Zeus will go in there and I'll pull the barrels and cut foam cutouts for the barrels.

That's a Pelican 1720 with the 22" barrel. I would prefer a little more padding on the ends, but this would work great for anyone running barrels 20" and shorter.

Indoors? For 10 shots that's remarkable. That's would be one of the top shooting groups at the Lapua indoor testing facility.

.67" + .221" converted to mm = 22.6mm (edge to edge)

Indoors yes, I’m fortunate enough to have a indoor range 10 minutes from my house lol I was apprehensive to buy a vudoo with a proof barrel as there really wasn’t much data on group sizes at 100yd and hardly any at 50yds but it had far exceeded my expectations. I figured if @RAVAGE88 is selling them with proof barrels they must be damn good, and they are!

Thought I would share some data I discovered concerning the vudoo and action torque recently. Mine is the apparition in mpa chassis and it’s great but, does have some things I wish were better. So I bought a bell and Carlson stock for a more traditional style and it’s also great btw. To the point I inletted the stock for the vudoo bottom metal and realized I needed shorter action screws so I ordered some new ones mean while I cut and filed one I already had for spare and used the mpa rear as the front screw. Took the gun and shot at 300 yards when I got the new screw realized the front one I had on was not even letting the bottom metal make contact on the front. Fixed everything shot again and no change in poi or accuracy really. So the moral is if you have a quality rifle and quality stock I can relax a little on things like torque values.

LOL just bought some today from creedmoor sports never shot it before but it people seem to like it and the price is right.
I just want to have plenty on hand when my action gets here to play with for at least a brick before worrying about what’s the best. I have always shot CCI sv for general minute of golf ball accuracy out of my cz.

I have a vudoo barreled action on the way. I'm putting it in a krg bravo and wondering if I use the action screws sent with the bravo stock? Or does vudoo send some that I need to use?

Thanks

When I started my build back in February, I wanted to keep my new toy as much of a sporter as possible..ordered a 18” ranch profile.
I went with a AG Composites privateer in carbon bronze.
Bottom metal is a PTG flush mount oberndorf.
Trigger is a triggertech special set at 1#.

Today I did a “slight” modification to the polymer 10 rd mag... here’s a few pics. (5 rd aluminum also in pics).
Put a vortex razor HD LH 3-15 on top of it.
