Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Yeah I saw the mag mod on page 14 of this thread. I really have zero desire to start modifying anything on this extremely well designed system. I just take a few seconds more to pay attention to how I'm loading my mags when using Eley Tenex. It isn't an issue with the mag, the issue is with this one manufacturer of ammo. I would just go away from that type of ammo if it didn't work so well at distances over 200 yards

We've been having so much fun just shooting our rifles over the past few months that I forgot all about trying my suppressor on them. It has been so nice not thinking about all of the other crap that normally comes with trying to shoot small with a 22lr. Just load, shoot and listen for the ....BING.

I need to spin on my suppressor sometime soon and see if and how I may want to use it in the future. I guess it would make my rifle a tad heavier and longer to feel closer to my centerfire match rifle. I'm just still having too much fun.

Just placed a deposit on a ridgeback Vudoo today! Don’t know who I spoke with on phone but they were super helpful throughout the whole process.

My only question and I forgot to ask over the phone, what arca rails are guys running on the ridgebacks?

Seen maybe Area 419 was making a compatible one and sawtooth rifles. Am I mistaken or on the right path?

Those are 2 widely use rails. I just put a 419 rail on my centerfire rifle. Maybe Mike will chime in with a good option.

We do use the Area419 Arca, we stock them in St George.

Ravage88, I have a V-22 totaly built by VGW that has a flat breach - love the gun and it shoots as well or better than most of my BR 22 RF's. I'm not wanting to do ANYTHING to the rifle, but this modified cone breach has picked my interest.

Would you post a picture of the VGW modified cone breach please?
Pg 31 post 1524...

Thanks! You use the 12 or 14 inch universal one or does it matter?

Also does the rail mate via front action screw or not?

Seen some threads where the grayboe design/DBM did not allow for that type of bolt up.

We do use the Universal but I don't recall if we have both lengths in stock, will have to check. It does use the front action bolt and Area419 has a spacer (part of the available kit) to accommodate the .200" gap between the rail and the stock; I have it on my Manners TF1 and it works very well.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a barreled action, but I'm curious to know a couple of things that I can't find in this thread or on the website.
  1. Will you do a straight 1.20 barrel?
  2. Can we get the barrel with a target crown, no threads?
  3. Can we still get an unfinished, raw SS receiver/barrel?
  4. Is Shilen still an option? I understand you have your house brand and Bartlein, but Shilen dominates BR (for good reason).
Thanks in advance.

I’ll give this a little thought, but probably not.

Yes.

Can we still get an unfinished, raw SS receiver/barrel?

Barrel, yes, receiver (action assembly) will be Melonite.

Shilen is not yet officially one of our barrel suppliers, we’re working on completing the validation and may/will offer Shilen at that time.

TheDave: FWIW, there’s a group of us here in Ohio that have at least 25 Vudoo’s (heck I have 3 myself). 95% of those Vudoo’s have the house (ACE) barrel. You will not be disappointed.

Anyone need a sako quad range and a cz455 for a vudoo. Lol

You guys make it hard to not buy anymore rifles

It sounds like if you buy 1 you can sell 2. After shooting for a few weeks you will claim it to be one of the best decisions you ever made. I did and still do. I did miss 1 shot in last months NRL22 match though so they aren't perfect. 69/70

My second Vudoo shipped yesterday, will be here early next week. I bought my first one 6-7 months ago and even though I own over 50 rifles , it’s my favorite/ most fun.
Some people say it’s crazy to pay $3000+ for a .22 rifle, but I have bought two of them now and don’t regret it for a second!

Hey Ravage you willing to take trades for a Vudoo.....lol. Have to ask of course

What was ever the reasoning behind people having issues with the rifles once suppressors were put on?
I can't say definitively but I'll provide my interpretation while you wait for a reply from Mike. The old flat breech design Vudoo first used when they brought the V-22 actions and rifles to market wasn't as tolerant of debris. When people frequently shot suppressed, especially when they stored or moved their rifles around with the muzzle facing up and the suppressor on, debris from the suppressors would fall into the barrel down the baffle stack like a funnel. The actions then experienced issues and gummed up due to that, prompting Vudoo to come out with the hybrid cone breech design which is more tolerant of debris.

I/we have been known to trade if there’s something directly inline with my/our interests. I primarily shoot 3Gun and have traded where it suits my habit, but there are a number of trades I/we have turned down. All of Vudoo is active in competing in various areas, but we’re pretty picky when it comes to trading.

Mostly, particulate buildup in the suppressor that falls down the bore and mucks up the action. The Hybrid Coned Breech has made this a non issue though. I’ll add that not all Rimfire suppressors create this condition, but most do....and, what NateVA said above ?

Are you going to set them up differently? If so how? Thanks!
My first one has 18" barrel, 20moa rail, presently in a MPA competition chassis with a 5-25S&B on top.
Second Vudoo has 22" barrel and 30moa rail, once it gets here I'll put it in chassis first Vudoo is in and put the 5-25 on it. Then i'll put the first Vudoo in a MPA Lite chassis and put my 4-16ATACR on it. Both are being set up like my centerfire rifles that I compete or hunt with.

Omke since I guess, though I thought keeping the suppressor on the rifle after shooting and during storage was bad for a multitude of reasons.

The problem guys (and gals) were having with suppressors was that the crud would fall out of the suppressor and go down the bore when a shooter would rise up from position & sit the rifle down vertically with muzzle up, as would normally be done after completing a stage while match shooting or during practice. I've never left a suppressor on one of my rifles for any extended time, even removing it between stages if I need to case the rifle before moving to the next stage.

Dang, I just ordered a 22” Bartlein Kukri in graphite black, if that one in overstock was black instead of gray I’d take it. Sure would cut down my wait. Is the 20” a Bartlein? That could be Cerakoted graphite black.

I'll check, but these five are offered "as-is" since they're assembled, tested and ready to go.

Sorry Guys, I forgot today is the Vudoo Rimfire Series Match in St. George and there likely isn't anyone in the shop answering the phone. I'll give these five until Tuesday before moving them elsewhere, so if anyone is interested, call Monday and ask for Jill.

These overruns are going to make several somebody's day I betcha... That's how I got into my 22" Kukri a week or two early - had ordered one in black CK, but was offered one in sniper gray, and am very happy I took them up on the offer. It looks fine in its Manners PRS1 in Elite GAP camo, but I think will look even better in the PRS1 in scorched earth camo I've got ordered for it. Will be posting the Elite T4A GAP camo that my original V-22 is in in the PX as soon as I get word the new PRS1 is on the way.

Ok,dumbass question,& i’ve not only followed this thread since inception but reread it over Christmas & I know/think i’ve read it but,
How do you remove the bolt knob?
Heat or just soft jawed vice pressure?
The supplied knob seems fine & functional, but i’d rather replace it with a round phenolic bolt knob which my match rifle wears currently.
Just as an aside,I had been previously been on the fence regarding bolt knobs until I owned a Tikka M55 sporter, that was a revelation to me.

The bolt handle is threaded 5/16-24, just put the knob in soft vise jaws and apply steady increasing pressure to break the Blue LocTite loose.

just picked up a 16" from milehigh and dropped it in a AIAX chassis, with a nightforce 5.5-22 i had laying around.

i forgot how much fun it was to shoot 22lr...had a absolute blast.

accuracy was on par with what i have been reading on this post, so i was more than happy.

one question:

does anyone have a brass catcher that could mount to the rail or better yet to the SPUHR ISMS i am using.

little fuchers got caught between the boards of my wood deck.

looked at a few for ar's but they are just way to big, was thinking of something around the lines og 50/100 round capacity.

Just go 'low tech' and put down a small towel.
