Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

The krg systems are super easy to adjust and make work. Anyone having issues just honestly hasn't set anything up properly. I have a whiskey 3 and have adjusted it perfect and have zero issues

I'd fall into that category as far as setting up a .22lr in a chassis system, never done it. I had an X-Ray for a centerfire back years ago and then went the Manners route for awhile. Now I'm converting everything I can (centerfires) back to KRG and would love to do the same for my Vudoo. Just never found anything that fits me like the KRG stuff does.

I have just over 4500 (all Center-X) rounds through my first Vudoo since 12 Nov 21 - no issues whatsoever. My current Vudoo is in a McMillan U-1 stock but it may go into another KRG-B shortly.

I’m also going to use a mark5 unless leupold comes out with something new this fall/winter. Thinking the 5x25. What rings/height sis you go with? Thanks

Bayou, it’s a 20” Kukri profile. I have the weights but I haven’t installed them yet. The gun is rear heavy.

The rings are 1.42” high M10 American Rifle Company rings. I like them high cause I have a big ass Charlie Brown head.

I did a thing...... I ordered a V22 with a 22inch MTU barrel. Should have it by the end of the week. Anyone running or have run the MDT ACC Chassis? Any problems with it? how much weight internal/external was needed?

I’ve a 3/60 with 22” mtu in an acc chassis, all 5 front internal weights installed. Balance is fine for me, but I may try to remove 2 off them to lower the overall weight some. Also an XTR pro on order to change out my razor 2.
Love the combination of chassis and action, no issues after Vudoo addressed the ejection problem on my rifle. Perfect mag fit and function in the acc.

What razor 2 are you running? Was debating razor 2 or strike eagle? Are you selling your razor 2?

It’s not for sale sorry, HD gen2 goes back on my RPR. Bought it new many years ago when they were 2400. Has the ebr1 reticle, love it because it’s not as busy as the tree ones.
The razor is a good choice for a 22 if you find one for a great price. Some competitors are often cheaper, like a Cronus gen 2 as an example.
Regular xtr 3’s are even cheaper as the Cronus.

im kinda stuck on vortex, I have a strike eagle on a Bergara b14r and like locking turrets etc. What rings and what ring height did you need for the HD gen 2

I use vortex / seekins and mainly arc rings and mounts around 1.50” height. On the acc chassis
you have enough adjustments to get your cheek weld correct.

Like to shoot prone, square behind the rifle (body pointed straight to the target)
and be able to keep my head up in a comfortable position without “rolling over”.
I’m not able to do this with lower height rings.

Well there goes hoping not having to use weights lol. Mine is a 22" mtu and I've read before ordering that weights are not needed. I will getting the acc gen2 when its released.

If you swap the rear to the aluminum one versus steel, put on the mirage shield, and an EC tuner, your 22" mtu won't need weights

It was a long year but, after finally getting everything, was it worth the wait?
Hell no, not really, and never again, lol.

For my purpose, I love my RBLP repeater better than anything and wouldn't have it any other way.
My good friend here on the Hide (Drew Certain) told me about the RBLP repeater last year and I immediately called Vudoo and changed my order for one.
I suppose I have to admit that the extra wait getting the RBLP repeater was worth the extra 4 months of wait time!
If I decide to order another Vudoo, it will definitely be another RBLP repeater without a doubt!

The main difference is...
When shooting off a bench, you can view each round being stripped from the magazine by the bolt and loaded into the chamber.
You don't have to stand up to look at your chamber when you have a jam or failure to extract.

I have two Vudoo rifles, the bolt repeater is is LBLP a conventional arrangement but when I got ready to order a single shot Drew convinced me to try a LBRP and I did . After almost 70 years of shooting , why did it take this long for such a great idea to emerge . If I were younger I would certainly consider having my repeater modified so nice to see the chamber without getting out of position

Got my new Vudoo barreled action in last Friday and the Manners TCS stock in Wednesday and hit the range today. More than happy with it's performance today even with cheaper ammo. Figured I would try a different barrel than my last 18" Ace Kukri so it's a 22" Bartlein MTU with 5/8-24 threaded muzzle. Also a Gen 2 versus my Gen 1. Only have about 150 rounds through it so want to put at least 500 through before I start testing ammo but if today is any idea how that will go then I am really looking forward to it.

Thanks Cowpokey and Quickoz. Funny part is I put 7 types of ammo through it and they all averaged between 1070-1085fps. That was even ammo that shot different speeds in my 18”. Also with most all ammo the SD were single digit. Only real cheap stuff was around 11-13 for SD. Can’t wait to get some more rounds through this and test my lots of good ammo.

Rob, thats interesting. Wonder if the longer barrels give less speed variation between lots of ammo?? And better ES and SDs due to longer barrel... will have to test....

Rob01 - Your experience with a longer barrel reminds me of things that jbell has mentioned when the subject of 22RF bbl length comes up. It's been his experience that longer barrels give more consistent results than shorter ones. Even though he's referred to barrels of 26"-28" length, he's also owned (and still owns) several Vudoo repeaters, and his preference for bbls of at least 22" length has held up there. When I barreled the two CMP 40X/XBs that jelrod-converted into repeaters for me, I went with 26" bbls in the belief that they would more closely match the CF comp rifles with 26" bbls. Didn't take me long to regret going that long, as I was shooting suppressed at the time. But the Lilja titebore bbl I originally put on my 40XB is still one of the most accurate 22RF barrels I've ever owned, even though I pulled it and replaced it with a 22" Krieger to make that rifle easier to maneuver around walls & barricades, suppressed or not. I put another Krieger on the Three-60 repeater I built this past spring, but left it at 23", and left the Benchmark 3-groove & Shilen ratchet barrels on my V22S single shots at 25" - no question in my mind that all three are excellent shooters.

Took my Vudoo back to the range yesterday but brought my Randolph Machine front and Ransom adjustable rear rests with me.
Once you dial this ZCO 840 in it's solid with no need to readjust.
Added my Hellfire Match brake to the rifle; it's not needed in the least but looks cool.

Sour Mash is right, just do it. Go to VGW direct. its the best way to go, they are cheaper in the long run, from actions to complete rifles. It time to give up on the CZ like all the fan boys on You Tube have done lately to moved on to the next cheap super star custom B14 R that take $3K to fix. Things aren't going get any cheaper, inflation never goes away its just the new base line. The days of $2 Big mac and .75 cent gas is history. The minimum wage was $1.65 in 1973. Get something that you can be proud of it time to do it. Ohio sales tax is almost 8% so a 10% sale is not worth the effort of working with a middle man. You need pick up the phone OEM factory service on something that is going last a life time. Good luck and have fun with the tool.

Lots of good reasons to buy a V22 directly from Vudoo. Factory service and a retailers home state sales tax aren't among them. Sales tax is based on the purchasers home state sales tax rate, and Vudoo will stand behind their product regardless of where you bought it. Having said that, I do agree with buy one - great fun!

Posted in the ZCO thread within optics. Got my Vudoo two weeks back, third outing today. Able to take out a horsefly at 100 yds on first shot. Yes a bit loose on the grouping but (excuse coming) CCI SV, less than 300 rounds through it at this point and learning to shoot after break of well over a decade of no shooting.

They did a complete rifle for me to include scope And TT Diamond. Roughly 7 month wait, but well worth it.

Can’t say enough about what a great group to do business with. Immediate responses to questions (primarily email) and then both a call and email to local FFL to ensure all was good. I made a few changes along the way which they acted like no issue at all to accommodate.

Thanks for that tip. I just picked up a 18" Kukri for very short$ ( and no sales tax). I'm not competing with it so this taper and length should work well for my "do all" purpose itch scratcher. I have a KRG Xray inbound and a Timney Hit trigger siting in the shelf ready to go. I even have a Vortex 5-25x56 Venom NIB that needs purpose Hopefully this isn't a problem child to set up. I look forward to my first Vudoo but honestly have nothing bad to say about the CZ 457's and Bergara B14R's that I've been shooting to date. All have been a joy to own and shoot. guess it's just time to see what all the hoopla is about!

I ended up with a barrel length somewhere between 21 and 22 inches, can't remember. Barrel is a Shilen Ratchet Match Select. Mark Penrod did the barrel install. Very happy with the results, well worth the price to me. Total work was less than $900. The Harrell tuner was extra.

Wow, that's a nice barrel. I tried to get a Shilen Ratch from Killough sport several months ago but they were out of stock, just the blank was over $300. You must have got this done before the prices went crazy and the 30 week lead times for the $600 XLR. Lead times are the showstopper on most builds today. You couldn't build another one today for $900. You're looking at a $300 trigger, $180 tuner, $400 for the gunsmith work, $795 for the action or a $1,100 donor rifle with $200 in mics parts and shipping & taxes. You are all in somewhere around $2700. Add $400 if a donor rifle was used and you have a $3100 B14R. So the Desert Precision Gunworks custom B14R price to fix the action with a custom barrel & chassis is spot on. DPG has the B14R listed at $3145 and an upgrade repair service for $750. https://www.dpgunworks.com/rifle-build. You are very lucky to have less than $1,000 invested into such a good looking B14R. Prices have gone up so much that it's almost not worth upgrading a production rifle. One would be better off in the long run just ordering the top of the line performance Ferrari custom rifle that has some resale value after its career as a winner has ended. The stories of having the best horse in the race are legendary as they are passed down to the next generation. Your B14R might be that pony. Your response has made me take another look at the B14R and see if I should order the Custom B14R from DPG. Just watching all of the machining of the action, fixing the bolt lugs and installing a good barrel looks like he has made a winner. This might be the B14R that I get. Thanks for your help.

My $900 was for shipping both ways, the barrel, going over the action and all labor and testing. That's what I was referring to above, when we were talking about what it takes to "fix" a B-14R. IMO the B14R is a fantastic action to build off of. Mark Penrod said nothing needed to be done with my action. I know it is smooth as silk, when moving the bolt back and forth it won't bind up even when putting pressure up or down on the bolt.

I've have approximately $2500 in that rifle as shown minus the scope, base and rings.

I checked out DP Gunworks and looks like they do have competitive prices for what they do. Only thing I'd have to do is inquire about the "Custom Bentz Chamber" I'd have to know what "custom" means. Looks like for comparable builds the B-14R is roughly $500 cheaper than the Vudoo.
