Made I video of it in action to show that it is indeed still a issue.Yeah it seems you are twisting it a certain way to get it to hit. I would load a mag and run the rifle like it will be run and not super slow or twisting a certain way. Not saying you are doing any of this to cause it but just trying to help you see if it's an actual use issue or if it's something that doesn't happen in use.
Also as mentioned, clean the rifle.

One other thing. Have you tried running it forward like a centerfire and not slow like a Rimfire? It won’t hurt a Vudoo like it can others. Slam that thing home. That’s how I run mine and mine is serial number 10 and runs like a champ.
Have you tried closing the bolt with your thumb on the center of the bolt as you push it and not just run the bolt handle?On some that works better.
Update, I talk to Greg at vudoo and your assessment is the assessment he came to after having me do some troubleshooting procedures. Vudoo is one straight up company he hooked me up, and the rifle will be going back to get fixed with no cost to me. If Greg sees this post thanks a lot for your help and jam up service!!
Glad there was a resolution. They told me after working on it that the problem should be solved and it shouldn't crop up again. It was just something that happens in early Gen 1's that haven't had their breach changed.

Awesome!!! I really enjoyed that. I speak from experience on hitting the built in ejector.
The minor movement I didn't realize I was doing with my hand to move that little to Catch the edge. It sucks when it's US the SHOOTER that is causing a problem and we can not blame the TOOL. Once we as shooters realize 95% of the time issues are on us we are better off and learn from it.
1-Bergara B14r, 2- Gen 2 Vudoos, 3 RimX builds with 5 different barrels, CZ 457, 40X Build and a Gen-1 Vudoo.
Cycling the bolt straight back and straight forward will stop that issue. Just putting the slightest pressure Left or Right will move it to hit the extractor.
But hay I'm just an internet keyboard warrior so don't listen to a thing I tell you. And yes my rifles are 100% tools, but they are cleaned once im back home from a range session so I don't have that in my head of is my NASTY rifle causing my issues.
I shoot a frankengun T1X that has a very similar feeding problem depending on exactly how I run the bolt. That is unacceptable in a custom rifle for Vudoo $$$$. If I can do that well in my basement, the $$ is a scam. I am paying for a full on custom build right now. If it requires the same care as my amateur cobbled together Tikka to stay functional it will back at the manufacturer to be fixed.
It's all mechanical. We are all human. We are all capable to influence things in the wrong way to make them NOT function as intended. It don't matter if its a Ruger RPR ( The Ford Pento ) or the best 1 off rifle made ( Ferrari ). It can and will fail if WE as shooters have anything to do with it.

I got with Greg and got it sorted out. There is new ownership although Paul and Jill are still there but there are new owners. Greg, who is the longest serving Vudoo employee, is very excited about the future of the of the company with the new owners joining the team. Also, 1.20” barrels are available for order but they just can’t get enough of them to put them on the website. No reason to put something on the site and have people assume they will be as quick as the other options and it's going to be 4 months before the barrel even comes in.
Greg also wanted me to add:
-Vudoo has always been a manufacturer that operates off a menu of options.
-Quality control steps that you could never dream of are already being put into place with more to come.
-Mike Bush has never been involved in the day-to-day operations of Vudoo… EVER.
-Mike Bush has been gone from Vudoo completely for two years now.
-Many of the barrel options customers are complaining about not offering are unobtainable (i.e. Shilen Select Match).
So in the end it looks like Vudoo will still be moving ahead and continuing to make some excellent rifles for their customer.

VGW sells themselves as a full service custom rimfire shop when actually they just build factory rifles/barreled actions to their specs. I have tried twice over the past year to have them build me a rifle for NRL22/PRS Rimfire matches. Both times I was instructed what the available options were (Different menu each time)and that was all they were willing to offer. They actually referred me to David Lott to help me build the rifle as I had specified and yes it cost a little more but I got exactly what I wanted from an actual gunsmith in half the time Vudoo quoted. What about those aluminum 10, 12 & 15 round magazines with adjustable catches that was announced almost 1.5 years ago? IMO they are much more focused on building competition pistols now and have slacked off on the business of rimfire rifles which is what put them on the map.
You wanted something, they couldn't or didn't want to do it, so they referred you to someone else who could do it well. And you ended up with a rifle you seem happy with. Why does it seem like you hold this against them?
As far as the magazines I'd very much like to see them released too. For now I'm using L3i mags.
I don't hold anything against them at all and have a few Vudoo rifles and love all of them. Not certain how many custom rifles that you have had built where the smith tells you NO you can't have that, this was first for me. What surprised me was how they operate now versus just a few years ago and believe pistols are now their focus....didn't mean to come off like I am slamming them.
Not that it matters any, but do the new owners of vudoo have a name? Will it still be named vudoo or moving on to something else?

I'm not saying this is the issue, but I have issues with my Gen 1 on metal mags verses using the nylon mags. I'm not sure what it is. I did have an issue with my Gen1 on a nylon mag the other day as the follower seemed to be sticking. Cleaning the inside of the magazine with alcohol and a q-tip seemed to solve that issue.Made I video of it in action to show that it is indeed still a issue.

How does it run with a nylon mag?
I am not aware of a 1.25 thread protector, however, any decent gunsmith that could thread your barrel can machine a protector in their sleep.
Here is a question that i have asked before but answers dont seem to calm my anxieties. Those 1.25 straight barrels are very heavy and them being free floated, all the weight rests on a very small part of the action. Is the Vudoo action strong enough to support that ?

My rifle has the 1.25" straight barrel. It's in a KRG W-3 Chassis. The action screws are torqued to 65 in-lbs. It's still shooting great.
BTW, with that heavy barrel it is so much fun to see the trace of the bullet on the way to a steel plate at long distance. It's almost like shooting a PCP air rifle.
Yes it is. Do not have any anxiety. The Vudoo action is as strong as other centerfire 700 footprint actions which run as heavy barrels at 26-28" length 1.25" barrels so the 24" offered by Vudoo is no problem. People put on longer from other gun smiths.
Threaded and awaiting its full grown can. Bought a aac tirant for it. Can will be just a bit bigger than the barrel. This is a liberty regulator....too small.

Old thread I know, but recent experience with Vudoo customer service was so horrible that it needed mentioning. 2nd time back to Vudoo for multiple issues including sticky bolt. No resolution and $250 bill to me!

I have a friend that has had to send his back MULTIPLE times because it will fail to fire at least one center X per mag. They can’t seem to get it fixed but least they haven’t charged him.
He has pretty much stopped shooting it due to having to lift the bolt multiple times per magazine to fire one round.
I'm curious too, $250 for what? I had to send my barreled action in to them to get my barrel set back since I have an early Gen 1 V22. They paid for shipping both ways, didn't charge for the service, and even threw in a 30MOA base for free (I had a 20MOA and wanted 30).
I’ll have to ask. He has a TT diamond in it currently like we all do so I’ll see what he’s has put in it.
