Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Ok, you're right, but you guys have been quiet today so I had to wake you up and get the curiosity stirred a bit.
First, the Muller barrels I have on-hand are marked A and B, both are 5R and both are 16 twist. As agreed, Dan and Paul are keeping it a secret which ones are cut and which are button. Barrels C and D are enroute.
As I do with all projects, I create an outline that I test against and the V-22S project as it relates to BR and F-Class is no different. Parallel to the outline is a control. So, I've logged the findings of slugging barrels A & B today and I know where I'm going to cut them. I've also developed a theory about whether they're cut or button, but I won't focus on that as the outcome has to be results driven.
Now that all that's out of the way, what I see today is a lot of variation in the bore of both Muller blanks and they'll be cut at differing lengths, whereas the Vudoo/Ace barrels are as they've been from the beginning; incredibly consistent along the length of the bore.

Good catch. The groups sizes are edge to edge, not center to center. Thanks for catching my error!
I have had some of my best groups with cheap eley and CCI SV (but only after 1000 or so rounds to loosen it up.) Definitely feel the lead engaging. A buddy's was far too tight. He sent it back for inspection. I hope it's a shooter when it returns
No sir, sorry for the confusion, but they did not slug well. My assessment was that A&B are button, which was confirmed via email from Muller.

More fun with my vudoo from my red neck boat shooting bench. This was from Sunday wind was quartering at 10-15 318 yards 10” steel plate. This is also center x which seems to be doing a little better imho out to 300 than the rws was.

Misses even approved it as she was happy with the price she heard over the phone but it was only the 10% deposit

With a 20" barrel and a full ACC chassis it's going to look like this - with respect to the barrel length. For my Vudoo I had my chassis cut down to fit in an 18" and look good

I'm in Australia.
Customs will take there time demand a demand a ransom be paid, then think every serial has to be recored against the gunshop who will need to organise a direct pick up from customs 500miles away (customs will not send firearms or parts via auspost even though its 100% legal)
Then I need (permission to aquire (PTA)) to pick the gun up which cost me $40 and anyware from 2 days to 2 months depending on there work load.
Plus our state govt has put harsh restrictions on gunshops (with covid) , can only purchase guns/ammo if you are a farmer, security, profession pest controller ect ect and your license reflects that. You are screwed if you own 100~ acres and your license does not reflect that and need ammo to put down a injured animal.
My licences have RE1, sc1, sc2, pc1, pcm condtions on them so it's not easy to tell exactly what they are. I just joined a club and license. But then they just guess if you want RE1 or not which is recrational shooter which means I can shoot on a rural property. Which means I can shoot pest animals or injured stock ect ect. I never asked for this just was lucky I guess. So it means if I show proof (letter from farmer or land rates notice or rural property) I can still purchase ammo/firearms
They said gunshops are not esstional and are worried about gun violence. However can still go to the bottleshop and get into a drunken rage with partner, can still go to sex shop and buy a rubber fist, can still go to dusk candles and buy candles. Every other sport/camping shop business as normal (or as normal can be) gun shops noooooope don't want people to shoot themself or partners. Mind you we all have police checks, can't have any violent history ect ect.
Hell even if a ex puts dvo or withstraining order on you there goes your guns tills it's sorted.
Rant over. Moral of story I'm in Australia and they make everything hard.
Correct but I want to run my 9mm can 1-1/4 dia? And would need it to be centered. Going to just go with the AX - just have to decide if I want the flush look or a little length....
Has anyone mucked with torque settings on their Vudoos? I finally got out to shoot for the first time yesterday in 2 months. First shots through the Vudoo that I've dry fired a few thousand times at home.
I had 1 mag that I bought used that cycled very cleanly and smoothly. I had one brand new mag that had a few hitches where it took a bit more effort to get the round out of the mag and cycle. I am guessing that'll break-in over time.
I am running my Vudoo in an MDT ACC at 55 in/lbs. Is the Vudoo susceptible to torque changes kind of like the CZ's and Tikka's where people do torque testing from 20-60in/lbs? Just curious. I didn't have much time to shoot and don't know when I'll get out again. Got 100 rounds down it at 25, 65, 100, and 200 with my tested lot of SK+.

FWIW I shoot mine with whatever the chassis manufacturer recommends. My bravo was 65in/lb and my AIAX is 53in/lbs. accuracy remained the same between the two chassis’s

Called for info on the A.I. AX as the link has been broken for 2ish weeks, was ready to pull the trigger and apparently that set up is no longer in production. Hope maybe the AXSR? Will be but the butt sock looks like crap to me.

If anyone has a better recommendation for a Bravo chassis, I'm listening. But honestly I can't complain and that's the most tested data available.

That's pretty light. Bravo says 65/45 on their site. Have you tried that?
In the Lapua Test Center video, he states they use 23 inch lbs. as that's what they like. So, I use 25.

Well I guess I'm fucking stupid. I just rewatched the video and it's 7.14 newton/meters which is 63.19 inch/lbs.

I have a who knows how accurate torque wrench for my bike that goes in 2,4,6,8 nm. So I just put it to 6nm and ran it. I did buy a new FAT torque screw driver so I'll use that next time and adjust it. Thanks everyone.
Yeh I have to significantly lift my rifle to swap mags while in prone position... but hey no more reloading in those 12 round stages
Also for NRL22's offhand shooting, it feels great resting that magazine in my palm. Finally I feel stable with my elbow to hip connection.
Ive shot my V22 in both a MDT XRS and XLR Envy and while I own all the fancy torque wrenches Ive found it makes no different on accuracy for me. I drop my V22 into both of them, hand tighten it with my handled allen T wrench and go shoot. It obviously hasnt made a difference as I just shot a 6x5 measuring .206". As mentioned above, its a LOT less important these days with new chassis and aluminum bedding blocks in them.
^^^^THIS. I don’t give torque settings much thought as long as the stock/chassis is of higher quality.

Hi, sorry if this was recently covered and I missed it, things have been a little hectic. Have a new Vudoo that should be here soon, trying to make sure I have all my gear ahead of time. Any idea when the new Vudoo bore guide will be available? Also, I was planning on getting a Bore Tech rod, wondering what caliber rod for the V22?

the bore guide on Vudoos website works great! I bought the Dewy 20cal Coated rod and it works perfect with the bore guide.
I completed the design of the new Bore Guide and approved manufacturing for BoreTech to get started. I'm really close to receiving the first articles and once I've signed off, they'll be punching them out. We'll stock them here at Vudoo and BoreTech will be offering them as part of the necessary cleaning supplies for your Vudoo.
The new Vudoo/BoreTech guide will be compatible with Gens 1, 2 and 3, right and left hand versions. They'll also work if you have a single shot adapter in place, but you'll need a smaller diameter rod to clear the adapter.

Anyway, I tried my Vudoo in the Xylo chassis today and it was probably the best magazine fit of any that I have tried and I've tried a bunch. Feeding felt flawless and smooth. I had a tricky time getting the wedge lock to engage correctly the first time so I just pulled it out because I was in a hurry. It may very well work, or it could be the recoil lug is a bit short to initially engage. Not sure on that. I removed it and carried on. It was also very nice to be able to change length of pull so significantly in different positions. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask, but really I'm just reporting that it works and works well.

RANGE OPENED! Yay, broke in the Vudoo and the Vudoo mags... my polymer mag that came with the rifle had a lot of FTF, but it broke in after about 5 magazines worth loading. I would have some of the rounds not angle up so they wouldn't push out of the mag, and then some were too high up, probably from the previous misfeed.
The 15 rounders, the first few rounds are super duper tight. That spring tension on there must be ultra high, but it'd take a good amount of force to feed the round. The last 5 in the magazine fed like I didn't even know there was a round in the magazine or chamber when I pulled the trigger.
Windy day, then some interesting switches in wind on some of the groups. Nothing special, but it performed exactly as I expected. I knew when I pulled the trigger, or when I noticed the mirage shift and my bullet would go accordingly.
Then drills!

Shot my Vudoo indoors today for the first time since this bullshit rona virus shut down the range and it was splendid! Shot two practice groups at 50yd to warm up (not pictured) and then shot at the little Instagram logo for a 0.3” group at 50yds (Ballistic-X doesn’t give you the option for 50yd yet). Took it out to 100yds after that and shot the middle square 10times for a 0.67” group. All shot with Center X. This Proof carbon barrel has exceeded my expectations fully!
Decided to change things up. I recently sold the 223 barreled action that was sitting in this manner MCS-T stock with gen 1 mini chasis. I dropped the vudoo right in, torqued the action screws and all is GTG. The ten round plastic and five round aluminum mags engaged and fed flawlessly and shot just great. I love the flexibility of this action.
0.67 at 100 yards is awesome. Nice shooting. Even better when you shot a 10 shot group.

I prefer the 10rd groups for 22 as it’s a hell of a challenge to get a good 10rd group. I was extremely surprised I managed to pull it off! Thank you!
