I would think the purpose is to get it out unredacted without the MSM hiding anything or putting spin on it. What's the other option, put it on the Whitehouse website or some such? Can we trust that it wouldn't get pulled down? If it is put in multiple hands at one time it then becomes difficult to do an end run. At least that's my thoughts on it, other than also being a way to poke the MSM in the eye for good measure.
