I recently got a WEATHERmeter and have been using it with the BallisticsARC app. This combination seems to provide fairly good information but for some reason the app has apparently started providing L/R info regarding where the bullet would end up if you made no correction rather than a corrective solution. According to the BallisticsARC documentation "Shooting data is always displayed as a corrective solution, never as a bullet’s path." This make sense to me and seems like this is what it should be telling me - and it did initially but now a left to right wind is showing a value to the right. I have tried re-calibrating the meter's compass, using the compass in my phone, made sure my target directions are correct, etc. but it is still showing the opposite of what it should (values are correct, just direction is wrong). Has anyone else seen anything like this? Know how to fix it?

Thanks,
Stephen

So is nobody else having this issue or does my rambling not make sense? I noticed this weekend that sometimes it shows the correct info and sometimes it doesn't. I am using the app on iOS but a friend of mine sees the same thing occasionally on Android.

I'm confused on the issue you are having.

i ran this exact combo for a while. never noticed any problems.

can you try to clarify or provide examples?
An example would be when there is a right to left wind, the firing solution should indicate a correction to the right. Instead, it shows a correction to the left (completely opposite of what it should). Note that it does this sometimes but not others and I have not been able to determine what makes it show valid data vs. invalid.

The obvious thing is, are you setting your firing direction AND wind direction relative to your firing direction.

On the “chart” screen: you set your shot angle and shot direction

Then on the weather screen. You set the wind direction.

All of which involve pointing your phone toward the target for shooting direction, then into the direction the wind is coming from for wind direction.

That was the first thing I verified. Also tried switching back and forth between device compass and phone compass, recalibrating device compass, etc.

i wasn't even aware the device itself had a compass. interesting.

i'm out of ideas. i just sold mine. app was acting up on me last match, and many times the DA wouldn't show.

sold it and bought a kestrel.

best of luck figuring it out. sorry i couldn't be of more help
