Just curious about why I seldom see or hear about the NF BEAST? Seldom seen in the PX etc. I think NF quit making them, is that correct? If so does anyone know why?
    Thanks,

I think they are still being made.

The answer to the rest of your question is the ATACR. Basically makes the beast almost pointless.

Except for having faster dialing due to the turret/lever design, it doesn’t do anything the ATACR doesn’t do as good or better.

Even with turret speed, it’s not like turret spinning is getting people killed or losing matches. It’s a niche design.

If I remember correctly the ATACR originally was only SFP reticles, whereas they placed the BEAST in a different category of glass quality and FFP reticle. After the ATACR F1 the BEAST basically became pointless. I think they still market the BEAST as "German optical quality".

The BEAST is supposed to have slightly better glass, but for many the lever system is annoying and they're willing to trade off a miniscule amount of optical clarity to get normal turrets.

When it was introduced it was the only high quality FFP scope made by Nightforce, but now that the ATACR F1 series is here it makes little sense for most people to buy a BEAST with the significantly higher price.

I just bought a couple of them with the H59 reticle for my elr rifles. It was the beast or the S&B high power because of the 36 mils of elevation adjustment. The beast was a grand cheaper so I went with it. I have been very impressed with every aspect of the scope for an elr optic!

I had a BEAST until recently.

Was very happy with the scope overall - rock solid & tracked perfectly.

But after I got an ATACR I found that the ATACR did everything I need a scope....

Sold it to a 'Hide member here a couple of weeks ago - for just a bit more than a high five & a cheese burger...lol.

The ATACR has 37.5 mils of internal travel...regardless of what the specs say

I remember all the hoopla surrounding it’s introduction. Long wait, and lots of speculation. When it was finally released, about half were happy, the other half were like WTF? I was in the WTF camp. At the same time nightforce kicked us in the nuts with a sfp Atacr. All we wanted was a ffp scope with more power than the 3-15 they had at the time. I digress...

It’s lack of popularity since introduction speaks volumes. I’d love to see the sales numbers, but I bet they sell 100 atacr’s for every beast.

What is that contraption on the bell end of the scope?

I would love a BEAST. So anyone that wants to unload the obsolete scope for a high five and a cheeseburger. Let me know.

Same here, but if you're not local the high five is off the table.

I will also send you a copy of 1J's cat successfully carrying a propane tank.
The tank was later used to hump the dog.

Okay @Bender see if you can beat that.:p
