What gives with posts being "edited" by others??

-> Then I posted in "SHOTGUNS" on a Benelli M4 thread and found my post had been "supplemented" with some other comments by someone else, likely a staff member with access to edit.

SO... are our posts to be deleted or "supplemented" by staff at whim? If so why should we even bother to post at all?

I can understand my comment on the Nightforce thread being dropped IF it was "off-topic" but it was not.

But the REAL puzzle re. the M4 post is why in hell would (or could) anyone add extra text to my post on my Benelli M1?

In other forums the moderators at least have the decency to show that they are editorializing and put thier own words in italics in a separate paragraph.

Next, provide a specific link, not just vague accusations. As a moderator I don't know what you're talking about and I resent the accusation for all of the admin. If you have an issue, take it up with a mod/admin and provide a specific example.

I don't speak for Eric B but perhaps he's referring to the times when dudes get banned for violating the forum rules and then LL or some other admin erases the offending post and replaces it with some witty or snarky comment/warning for everyone else.

Even if that is the case, if you commit an offense worthy of a ban, you don't need to worry about any snarky or witty remark. You should only worry about not being banned again.

I've owned a Benelli M1 shotgun since it first came out in the '90s. I still love that gun and you will love yours.


I have:
2 stocks - pistol grip and regular.
2 barrels - long for birds and short for turkeys and home defense
2 magazines - short for hunting and long for home defense


In the worst duck hunting conditions of rain, sleet, snow and mud I've NEVER had a failure to function.
