Re: What is with Tango Down bipods?
Check egay, I was able to find one in fde for $150. It's a great bipod for AR setups, but not so much for precision bolt rigs. I've got a couple Harris's to compare to the Tango Down and it's hard to put them side by side and say one is better than the other. Their just very different designs.
I wouldn't put the Tango Down in the same class as a similar priced bipod like the Atlas, but it's also sort of an apple/oranges comparison.
It's build to take a lot of abuse and the ability to traverse 40 degrees and 15 degrees of built-in cant is useful for engaging multiple or moving targets. When folded, it follows the lines of the forend for a nice look and feel. The feet have an aggressive texture and work great in the field, but not so much for bench shooting.
