The Leupold IMS is new and actually pretty nice, Larue is one of the best, the Burris PEPR mount is nice if you don't know if you want to spring on a LaRue as of yet.

I have a set of Badger Ordnance 1.250" rings and I couldn't comfortably fit a 50mm objective lens in them on my AR. I think that you will need to go over that to comfortably fit a 50mm objective with a scope cap. For Badger, that'd be a 1.400" Ultra High set of rings. Most LaRue mounts are 1.5", which is enough for a 50mm objective. The OBR mounts are 1.535", which is enough also.
I have a set of Badger Ordnance 1.250" rings and I couldn't comfortably fit a 50mm objective lens in them on my AR. I had that same scope mounted on an AR with a set of burris XTR medium rings. Worked great and had the scope down low for a nice low cheek weld (if that is what you like).

I think you make awesome mounts Jon, I can't disagree. They are just out of my price range. And I visit Larue every year for their tactical shoot so as a fellow Texan I have allegiance.
Does Larue make canted bases? I was under the presumption they did, but you had to specify? No where in the ordering do I see where to do that, I guess you have to call them up? Does anyone here have a 50mm objective scope with a larue mount on an AR-15? USACS - thanks for that information on the elevation I'll need, I really appreciate it. I don't necessarily care if my eyepiece is in front of or over my charging handle, it doesn't really bother me. I find the excessively forward mounted scopes a little awkward looking anyway.

I don't understand how you don't care if the eye piece is in front or behind the charging handle. Unless you only mean a little bit each way??? I'm fairly picky and if my eye relief is comfortable on an AR, I'm not happy.

My Dad has the PEPR as well. Not too bad of a mount for the price. It's kind of ugly and it doesn't give you the quick option of riding your optic on another AR but it works and is the same height as the Larue.

Ah, I found it! Will 10MOA cant be enough for a 75gr .223 projectile at 1000 yards with my vortex pst?

Me too. I have one on my Colt 6721 and one on my SCAR 16S. Both 30mm version. Great mount especially for the money.

How high do you need? I like my scopes low so I run a NF Unimount.
Most of the aftermarket AR mounts are 1.5" which is too high for a scope (for me). Fine for heads-up red dot stuff, but not for a real scope.....
