You guys seemed to enjoy my first article about the top actions used in local PRS match competition, so I put together another ranked list from the same product use data generated by WPRSC match registrants.

Very Wisconsin specific, as you say in the preface. I find it interesting how the different precision rifle components popularity is so geographically affected. Benchmark and proof seem more popular out west, Hawk Hill is King here in the southeast. Considering many of us order stuff online, I find it a bit interesting.

Great write-up and compilation of data, I would love to see one that represented club matches throughout the country. Not suggesting you should do it, but it would be cool to see the trend Nationwide. Much like how precision rifle blog tracks equipment and preferences among national match competitors.

Yep, and there's another pocket of barrel makers in the Kalispell, MT area.

The data seems kinda skewed in my opinion. I know we didn’t have over 600 unique shooters at wprsc this year. I believe it was some where closer to 200. So depending how many times a particular shooter participated they were counted as a data point multiple times correct?

yes same as the action numbers tally.

the 8 hawk hill barrels could be 8 guys or 1 guy

Criterion worked well when I went 6mm creedmoor prefit on the Tikka also. Dont know that it can be much better.

I like the article and your effort is outstanding but why not ask the guys if they have previously filled out a questionnaire not to do another? Some might do more but I'm sure the majority wouldnt. Seems like that would give more accurate findings.

The survey was part of the match registration page, no way to really avoid it.

Yep, very similar concept.

Just like Laird had a big impact in KS creating the unofficial "air capitol of the world"; Barrett "Boots" Obermeyer had a huge impact on the WI barrel making industry.

What the pro’s use is good stuff that funds their matches.

What the Joe’s use is stuff that works that they have to pay for and still live the hookers n blow lifestyle.
