Yeah, would be an impressive physics trick. Some people expect to be able to see some "magical trace" in all conditions, under all light. Sigh.

I love it when you get great conditions for trace.
Last time I was in eastern Oregon we had some of the best trace I’ve ever seen.
It was cool to see the arc difference between a 308 and my 260 and 7 saum at 900 yards

Yeah it is. Quite a max ordinate difference between those. All of those nice flat-shooting cartridges have some impressively flat "rail-gun" trace out to distance!
Just few minutes ago giving a beginner advice on r/Hunting to question how to make safe shots hunting deer when elevated stand is not available.

Only about a year ago my brother in law told me his ideal long range rifle optic would have moa turrets and a mil dot reticle, you know cuz that’s what the marines used back in 80’s. I just looked at him and raised and eyebrow.
I was at the local range with my 22lr a while back. I started at the 10o yard bench and then moved to the 20o yard bench. I walked out to hang my target and when I got back the RO lectured me on "22 drop". He said I'd never hit the target. He pulled out a foot wide strip of cardboard about 3 feet long and stuck a target at the top and another one about a foot and a half below the first. ''Here, you take that back out there and shoot at the top one and you'll hit dead center on the bottom one''. I started to argue but he started to explain it his way so I just took it out to 200 yards and proceeded to shoot my groups on my target and on his top target. When I retrieved the targets, he didn't say a word, he just walked away. I'm sure I messed up his theory about exterior ballistics.
Another time I showed up with my 22lr and sat down at the 200 yard bench and was told the range was closing and I had to go home. Everyone else got to stay. That was the last time I went there to shoot. The only other time I have gone back was for my son's hunter ed test, and that was a joke.

Agreed. Some people have so much ego they can’t see things for what they are, or can be. If you have the drops and a way to adjust, there is no reason you can’t shoot a .22LR out to distance.
As far as a rangemaster closing the range to you that needs to be corrected both financially (if you paid) and through the system. Write a letter to the range board. Tell them you will take it to a higher level if they don’t respond properly. Give his name if you have it, but certainly the date and time.

It was free range and that was years ago. I don't even know who the RO was that day. I was just there to shoot.
I was almost laughing at the fact that the guy with the targets didn't even know how much a 22 dropped at 200 yards. I have labeled turrets with the yardage clearly marked, so I just dial for 200 and send it. It messes with a lot of folks because they don't notice me dial, just that I'm hitting the target.
My dope is ~7" @ 100, ~5 ft @ 200, and ~15 ft @ 300, if I remember right. I don't have a card, I just dial it in. I have to be careful on the longer shots and remember which direction I'm pointed because I get a very slight elevation difference between east/west at longer ranges.

I am amazed at the number of people who come up to you on a range and tell you what you got don't work. Or, that it looks stupid. Yet, again, why do you have such a big barrel for that little round?

I've been told numerous times that a 22-250 won't kill deer. I was looking at ammo one day and a guy came over and said "you're not hunting deer with that are you? You need at least a 30 caliber" I knew what he was getting at and just said "no, I'm not hunting deer" and walked away.

? Reminds me of an instructor I had when I was in school. He would put hoses, tubes and gauges on the outside of his engine in his derby cars. He did well, so often people would be talking about what they thought it was, and why he did it. It was all just bull shit. A couple of the things he would put on, even held air so you could air them up and the pressure gauges would read.

Huh... There's a bunch of states with Centerfire or .22 Centerfire. I forgot Minnesota was one of them. Nevada is .22 Centerfire and up, but must be able (on paper anyway) to provide 1000 ft. lbs. of energy @ 100 yds. .223 will make it with most loads, .222 Rem, will not.

It is illegal to hunt deer with any center-fire rifle less than .22 caliber, any rimfire rifle, or air gun.
Man, I've killed a ton of deer with my old 22-250. You could calibrate a tape measure with it. Heart/lung shot, they run 25yds and drop dead. Loved that gun.

Was on the facebook page (TGC Nation) and was browsing some thread about an optic that was purchased and placed on an AR. The optic turned out to be a cheap clone (Eotech) from ebay or something and failed. So the obvious conclusions were pointed out that if you place airsoft rated optics on actual firearms, they will fail.
So then this guy (His profile was chock full of 3% poser photos) mentions that the opposite holds true as well. (Placing an actual firearm optic on an airsoft gun) will lead to the failure of that optic. I reply to him, stating that I really think he is misinformed. He replys back and says that (If I were more informed) Id know that his view is correct.
I tell him to pull his head out his ass...
A real optic rated for rifle (of any caliber) recoil will not fail from being placed on airsoft toys.

But it really only points out that airgun scopes can withstand a unique vibration of an air gun. It doesnt say firearm optics CANNOT do this. It just says dont do it.
At first thought it looks like airgun optic manufacturers want to keep that market to themselves and sell more airgun optics. But in reality, I dont keep up with airgun stuff, and dont know if anyone actually puts expensive optics on airguns. So the whole real world argument and application is probably moot.
In my experience, and in an extreme example, I shoot a bolt action Barrett 50. Im fairly confident that my optics that I can place on this rifle can withstand some (Unique Vibration) of an airgun

It's definitely more than marketing wank. Air rifles, while producing "unique vibrations", it's the double recoil in both directions that wreck traditional scopes. Typically it's the reticle that fails, as they are braced for rearward (traditional?) recoil impulse. The coil spring in an airgun has an impulse both fore and aft when fired, in very rapid succession.
With that said, I have run Leupold's on my Feinwerkbau 300's for ever. Not one issue.. It IS "recoilless", but never the less I have had zero issues running quality gear.

Do actual firearm optic manufacturers have a disclaimer that states (Do not install on Airsoft/Airgun)?
I have run Leupolds on all of my spring air guns with great success so far. Over 30 years now.
Can you imagine the poor soul that would come here to post (Fuck Nightforce! My BSA .177 airgun broke my ATACR!)
