Maggie’s What's Your View II

Our Sheriff cleaning up the town @10:30 it's already 84 and feels like 91 :giggle:

With all this chatter about getting @oneshot86 rolling his own ammo, I figured while I was in the garage I'd knock out a couple hundred 22 Hornet.
WW brass, WSR primer, 12.3 H-110 and a moly coated 35gr V-Max.
These are for a CZ 527. My first of a few of them. It shoots itty bitty groups with this load just like it's brothers do with their favorites.

Good on them for running a litter crew. Ran one for years, then funding, manning, and liability took over. The stories I could tell on this fiasco alone would rival the thickness of Webster's if'n I wrote a book. Some of these crazy bastards will drink anything. And pop into their mouth. Living proof ya don't catch the smart one's. They did cover some ground though, I'll give'm that.

From the looks of the price tags on some of these, they are getting like me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, getting some age on them.

Hell yeah.
I'm not too proud to buy stuff from guys older than me.
I don't live far from God's waiting room.

I remember when I thought this price was outrageous

I was admiring the little sinclair press, then the harrells measure, then the redding beam, then WTF? Is that Ronald McDonald?

Yep, it sure is.
I used to work for an advertising agency when I was 19 and McDonald's was our second largest client. (Paramount Pictures was #1)
We were goofing around during a photo shoot with the photographer's Polaroid. I have a few that are pretty funny but not postable.
Spent a lot of time around that clown and his political and criminal friends. You know, the Hamburgler and Mayor McCheese.
Funny times.

ive always wanted a little 20k hornet...

My next 20 cal will be a VarTarg on a first run CZ 527, 221 Fireball.
The gun was my dad's and the poor thing was put away damp and ruined the barrel.
It will still keep 5 in at .600 for about a dozen shots then it goes crazy. It used to be a solid .300 gun before that.

This is where the "Really Like" Button would come in handy. I think you're on to something............

edit: You left the pills out. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I commented on the “Really Like” button a week ago or so. We need that feature. We also need an “Awe That Sucks” button too. I have a hard time clicking “Like” for a pic of Geno’s tore up tire he’s going to have to fix in the sweltering heat. Just ain’t right.

Maybe we should send him a case of beer to his next port of call instead.

Don't worry about me, just doin' what I do. I learned a long time ago in this business; if yoy let the bad shit get you down, there's no way you're going to survive. Gotta be a glass half full kinda guy. I have my family, we have our health, great friends one here and elsewhere. I have nothing to worry about ?

The pond, like some other things in my life, has been a bit if a bitch this year.
This shit started showing up in late April when the weather warmed up. By late May it was acting like it wanted to take the thing over completely.
I started with manually raking it out, but I wasn't keeping up, so I went with some chemicals.

After using the right stuff about two weeks ago it's finally beginning to look right again.
I'll get on it earlier next Spring and get ahead of it.

Yesterday morning was looking much better. How do you like my $30 boat trailer from Harbour Freight?

On the upside, the grass has gotten plenty of water this year and is holding up very well so far. I don't irrigate.

When I was a kid I remember my grandpas pond was taken over with Lilly pads. It wasn't quite as large as yours, but close. There was in year the only open water was a hole in the middle about 15' diameter. He bought 2 grass carp that year. About 10-12" I believe they were. Within 2 years there wasn't a single plant in that pond, and every time it rain and the water would come up, the Carp would pretty much mow the grass around the edge. It got to the point that he had to throw an occasional rotten bail of hay in the for them. No a single weed after that though.

I have 4 carp that have been in there for about ten years. The fish guy confirmed my theory that like us, they get fat and slow. I bought 6 8-10 inch ones and tossed them in there about 6 weeks back as well, so I'm hoping they'll keep things in check going forward.

How DelCo izzat?

Down in old stomping grounds today, here in SEPA, where it starts to get nitty-gritty. There's SEPA, and then there's DelCo, or Delaware County, which is mostly expatriate white-flight from Philly over the past few decades. You go to a yard sale there, if they spent $4.99 on something new, they want $5.25 for it used. Seriously. It's the home of legendary Philly "attytude." Alpha might argue that, but he doesn't wanna do it out loud anywhere within a ten-minute drive of MacDade Boulevard.

Anyway, they got something in DelCo that I think is pretty unique. Serious, serious drive-through/drive-up culture. Imagine a beer distributorship (anything over two six-packs comes from a special class of store) where you name your flavor/s and they sling it in the back of the truck after you pay through the window without getting out, at all. We got one.

And we got a chain of drive-through convenience stores, too, that sell an amazing variety of stuff out the sliding glass doors of a minimal footprint, Swiss Farms.

Broomall, PA: Swiss Farms and SEPTA in the same shot. All it needs is a cheesesteak and a soft pretzel.

Generator decided to shut down today. All this new shit requires a guy with a computer to tell you why the ecm is angry. Call the guy and find out the egr pressure differential sensor is not happy. Of course the guy doesn't bring any parts with him so off to the cummins service center I go. $200 sensor and we're back up and running. Man some days I wish we had the old 855 back on the road.

It's fairly typical. Some years are worse than others for tires but mechanical stuff is non stop little shit that is a major thorn in my side. Our workers work like hell, long hours is shit conditions for really not a lot of pay. But we aren't hiring the best, just the rest... spouses now, my wife and mother in law are cut from a different cloth!! They work their tails off! They work with us on the rides some, do the food wagons, and take care of all of us. I wouldn't trade them for anything!

Geno,
Why didn't you just have that R2 unit on the left monitor and repair everything for you? :p:p:p

I feel your pain. The current piece of “equipment” I operate has no less than 66 computers talking to each other. One sees something it doesn’t like and sends a message to various others complaining about this, that, and the other thing. Next thing you know, we’re dead in the water. New and modern disappointments is what I call it. ?

Every time I hop in my '57 I think how nice he simplicity is. Sure the comforts of my '13 are nice but I was probably born a generation or 2 too late...
