Maggie’s What's Your View II

Rookie numbers...
I can get my heart rate at 160ish at 60rpm lol
The program is called the valley.
It feels much more like the summit.

Hi,

LOL..my HR wouldn't hit 160 if I was having sex with entire Victoria Secrets crew. It just does not engage lol.
My pulse is so low in normal state that I take breathing medication to better convert oxygen so my system stays good. haha

Sincerely,
Theis

Paying the price now when the mountains call.

Sadly that’s not back. We have 750 miles to go today to get home. Waiting now to get the spare replaced plus one backup tire.

Also, last night one lug was so tight that I broke one of my ratchets...View attachment 6970413
Damn! Shit like that is why I keep a 2’ breaker bar and socket in the truck. I also have a cheater bar.

Y'all got till about mid February to get rid of that snow crap, planning on heading Northish from Nevada about then....
Ohhhh............Mid February ? You’re not serious, are you ?

Hell, wintertime is just getting into full swing then, particularly in the Sierra. Early to mid April and you might be able to catch a break......if you’re really lucky.;)

What Ruger is that, a Predator or the Ranch? I'm thinking either would make a good permanent addition to the farm arsenal.

That is a Ruger american ranch in 450 bushmaster. Works pretty well and complies with southern michigan's limited rifle zone regulations for a straight walled cartridge.

Nice job! There is a joy in helping shooters improve. You should be proud of that.

Gotta give us details on her rifle, load, and how shot. Shooting nerds here sir.

Im just a putz myself and every once in a while I can give a tip or two that helps someone improve.
Most often something I read here, tried, and it helped me improve.

She shoots a RPR in 6 creed and used factory Hornady hunter ammo. Gen2 pst. Used a game changer bag on the window of her blind. Haven’t heard that distance yet.

I invented the 2 of them to join Jamie and I to shoot a little group shooting match last winter and put her behind my bench gun. She shot 1 1/2” group at 420yrds. She was hooked on what was possible after that. She’s sub moa with the RPR and factory ammo.

Nice deer for both of them! Always fun to celebrate a successful hunt.

I never shot a midwest buck. How do they taste?
My buddies western NE whitetail buck was a bit gamey last year
Another buddy shot a mtn mulie here in CO during tut a few years ago that was aweful. His dog wouldnt eat it!

The does out here are darn good.

I also have never shot a deer thats been running or ran after shot for more than a few steps.

Im too cheap to pay out of state fees to go back to IA and chase a big buck.
Most of my buddies who own property cant shoot well enough to get em at range, so I could have my pick! Their farms are good with water and lots of corn and beans to eat as well.
They just need to allow necked cartridges again. Only straight wall rifle right now . Guess thats an excuse for a Marlin guide gun in 45-70 but thats a lot of gun for a whitetail..... ?

450 bushmaster works well. I built a 22" custom a few years back with a m24/m40 contour barrel and have taken it to 500 at the range... it's still hitting with more velocity and energy than a 45acp has at the muzzle. The down side is wind. Much past 350 and you really need to be on top of your wind game. But I'd have full confidence using it on deer to around 300-350. This ruger I'm using this year is a bit slower, by about 250fps, 200 yards was as far as I shot it at the range but that was because I was running low on ammo of the same lot#

Didnt anyone ever tell you that you cant hit or kill anything with a Remington or a Leupold and certainly not in combo?.......

Except more deer than any other combo in the US quite possibly.
Killed all my critters with factory rigs, Rem, Savage (gasp), and Tikka. And all with Leupolds now that I think of it. ?

Good luck out there fellas.
