Well damn it Barney. Thats just terrible news. Very very sorry. Its a lot to bear.
@aac_shooter was hunting this afternoon in 56F temp at 7600 feet just above Golden CO on a late season Mulie tag on private land.
Counted 51 elk on a ridge about a mile away. Saw 5 does and a monster buck, 260 yds out and just 60 yds on the wrong side of a fence. Watched em for 3 hrs. Never made a move to cross...... had multiple shots on each deer.
Wind was howling (in our favor for scent) and we were proned out to stay out of it best we could. Even with warm air temp, that wind just was darn cold.
Headed back in the early AM before church.

The eagles are coming back in Ohio. We have about six that I know of within 15 miles of my house.

Edge pruning is one of the things I do to keep the place looking right.
It's good exercise in winter and it makes a difference.
It's one of those things that makes the place look sharp, but most people will overlook the detail and just see it as part of the whole package.
Most of it is done by hand with a pair of Fiskar telescoping loppers (third one on the original lifetime warranty), but sometimes I need to bring in the muscle to get these wild grape vines untangled.
The edges along the pond were done two years ago, so it's due. That's the average rotation. Every other year.

Got the official scores for the little 22 shoot. They call what we do “fclass” just a bipod and no rear bag. Pretty much the best gun/ammo combo wins. Not too much skill involved really. The bull is super tiny though.

I blame the ammo for the one miss actually. Sights were good but it snuck out a little too high. On the 69th shot. Such is life.
