These and the buses are out of control price wise lately. I grew up in a small town where a guy had hundreds and maybe close to a thousand vw variants. When he died, his dipshit son buried almost all of them on the property.
I didn't smell any patchouli, but I did get a little hippie vibe from the driver. He was a gearhead though and talked about swapping in a TDI engine.

This is a buddies bike that I’m doing a rebuild for him. Color applied to the tank and fenders today.
Is that a 69? I had that same bike, HI-FI red and I think the first year for elec start (XLH) on the Sportster. That was years ago, but seems the kick start was a XLCH.
It’s a ‘70 XLH. The first electric start Sportster was 1967. The XLCH was always kickstart, but also had magneto ignition. So the 67-69 XLH had different crankcases than the XLCH. In ‘70 AMF used the same cases for both.
