Maggie’s What's Your View II

This last Monday the only place there was still snow was ditches or tree lines that had little sun exposure. Tuesday morn it started to snow and blow. This AM's view...

Both Interstates are closed, all roads in the S. W. corner of state are no travel advised. One of the daughters in Forks stuck a tape measure in a bank in the backyard..

This stuff will go away fast, it is the middle of April. A mere 8-16 inches. Still, a PIA.
One of the few things Poppy Pants Joe can honestly say "I didn't do that!"

Good haul from an estate sale today. Mitutoyo 0-1" and 1-2" thread micrometers with 6 anvil sets (mitutoyo part numbers 116-105, 116-106, 116-830) and a roll of 3" nylon strap all for 200. Don't have a lathe to use the mics yet but that is worth to get when you find them. Look them up if you don't know how good of a deal that is. No they're not for sale.

Not bad for a factory 700 in nothing more than a bedded HS stock shooting factory ammo

What Model is that? I had an SRS Tactical that looked similar and it too was a great rifle. Not that good but that was just me pulling the trigger, and just a 10x Millet scope but probably mostly me. My son has it now, I miss that rifle

What ammo?

Tried to drag you into an invite to shoot in western MA this week but after the fact learned that in a PM only the original conversation starter can @ someone on board.

Next time.

that is Federal Gold Medal Match 185gr....ive traditionally had good luck with the FGMM 175SMK, but the 185gr jugs absolutely hammer....

and i appreciate that, we definitely need to get together at some point.
The 185 Juggs hammered in my 20” AIAE until the wheels came off the bus around 800 yards. Didn’t have the speed or enough twist to keep them stable. However, they did great in the wind up until that point. Curious if you find the same.

Finally got the critter getter T1x set up the way I want. Compact Kahles 318i mounted Sunday with a rough 100 yard zero in 30+ mph wind. Monday attempted to fine tune the zero in 20+ mph winds 😡. Got it really close. Home from work tonight after a catching a track meet, and had a chance to test not long after on a garden eater. It’s pretty close. Really enjoying the 17...

Got out for our spring turkey opener today. Birds were very tight lipped. They went away from me off the roost and took awhile to locate. Had a pair of hens come through about 2 in the afternoon with 4 longbeards not far behind, as soon as they saw my jake decoy they came running. Let them get a little too close. At the 14 paces this bird was killed my pattern is only about the size of a golf ball. It strung feathers out about 10yds beyond the bird…..
