There is something wrong with men who are interested in cats, that is a woman thing

Cats are cool. We had a stray that the daughter brought home. Name was just "Kitty".You’re not wrong.
I’ve gone my entire life without owning a cat, and never wanted one. My wife’s allergic to ‘em so I figured we were safe. But now that I’m retired (twice!), we suddenly have 3.5 of the damn things!
First one was a semi-feral cat from our old neighborhood that crawled under my track car to die in our garage after being attacked by an owl; guess how that turned out. Meow Meow in repose:

Second one was a kitten just a couple weeks old found in our backyard by one of our dogs … mom nowhere to be found, and three other kittens dead in the field behind our house. We found an adoptive momma cat in our neighborhood, and a month later after she was weaned, we suddenly had cat #2; Señorita Frijoles, AKA The Shitten:

The third one was adopted by our daughter when she was away at school… She calls him her “boy” LoL, but technically named Figaro, or Fig. He’s a nut bag…always in motion, and no fear of anything, or anyone. Playing with our grandpuppy here:

The 1/2 cat is an orange neighborhood Tom that technically belongs to our neighbors, but eats and sleeps on our porches. He won’t let anyone touch him, and doesn’t have a name…just Orange Kitty. Coming over for a visit:

So yeah… I still think of myself as a dog person, but TBH don’t mind outdoor “barn” cats. They cut down on the vermin and snakes around the house for sure. Yet somehow, here I sit, dad to 3.5 cats.
God help me.

All our cats were found in dumpsters with the exception of one that was found by our dogs in the backyard. Very similar situation as yours. You’re not wrong.
