Where has all the ammo gone?

Re: Where has all the ammo gone?

I have a lot of trouble with that scenario, though I know it's a dark possibility. Those guardsmen are people like my daughters, nephew, and a whole lot of damn fine kids I've known since babies or kindergarten and I'd sooner shoot myself than draw on them. Besides if it comes to that they'll grease my ass in no time anyway as I'm untrained and purely defensive in posture as a law abiding citizen.

We need to find other ways when it comes to them. As to looters, gangs, foreign enemies and opportunists, the greater likelihood IMO, as well as recreatonal shooting at much lower cost, I am supplied and watching for deals.

Re: Where has all the ammo gone?

qq, i agree. but there are videos of these young soldiers doing this in new orleans. when asked "does this seem right to you?" these kids acted like they had no clue. this is our fault. we no longer teach government. these kids have no idea that we have the 2nd amendment. they dont even say the pledge of alledence any more. all they know is they have to obey these orders. i feel terrible about this, but in the end, it is our fault. so when these kids are trained up and armed to the teeth to kill the citizens of our country, you will have to decide. i bet the evil regime will be counting on a response much like yours. like i said, i feel bad. but in the end if i am defending this country against all enemies, foreign and domestic, i will kill your uneducated (constitutional wise) nephew. and if this happens, this is your fault for not educating him on what it means to be an american. i know, it sucks! just be aware of this situation. and take action now.

Re: Where has all the ammo gone?

i think your all nuts. but whatever i dont blame anyone in the least for a little stockpiling. just remember one well placed bullet is far more effective at changing things than a thousand poorly aimed ones

Re: Where has all the ammo gone?

I was in the Ft. Worth Cabelas on Saturday and the shelves were loaded with factory ammo for anyone in the area. I reload so see no point in paying the current prices.

Re: Where has all the ammo gone?

I started hoarding about 15 years ago. Clintons gave me incentive. I bought one or 2 bricks of primers ever week. So I have all these primers. I need to increase my powder to about 50 times what I have now to match the primers and I have only got about 40,000 bullets. So Im really short on the bullets. I havent purchased anything since Oct of last year

Since most have their heads firmly buried in the sand, we're probably doomed to repeat it.

I got in the habit of keeping a certain level of loading supplies on hand after the last go round during the Clinton years. I'm sure I fit someone's definition of a hoarder, but I don't consider it an insult.

This reminds me of an argument I had about sniping on ebay: A gentleman had bid on an item when it was first listed. For a week he watched and no one bid against him. Just before the auction ended, someone placed a bid and won. He was very angry. "It was mine until some lowlife came along at the last minute." I told him he had every opportunity to place a proxy bid for the most he was willing to pay and, unless the sniper was willing to pay more, he would have won the auction. He did not appreciate my input so I ended the conversation with "Losing sucks, eh?"

Made my annual visit to Wally World on Saturday. Plenty of .45, 9MM, .223, .308 and other calibers on the shelf. Just for grins I checked the price on .45ACP...slightly higher than a year ago.
