Got a RR Predator Pursuit...flatop, etc. Starting with a Leupold 8.5-25X50 (I have now) till I can afford a NF NXS 2.3-10X32. Will the Larue 104 work for both? How abount the NF Unimount? It comes in two hieghts.

Are these type mounts better than just a set of super high rings?

Sorry for the new guy type questions but this is my first AR, I bought it to piss off the dem's!

Most of my shooting will be F- Class TR 300 yds+, maybe some 3-gun(???) also some Texas whitetail within range.

Problem with most of the LaRue stuff, is the lever attachment gauls your weapon.

I like the NF uni-mount.

Re: Which mount for AR??

Larue mounts are standard in most AR15 SPR scoped builds nowadays. They are exceptionally great mounts. I don't think anyone is unhappy with their LT-104 mount or similar. If you're using the 2.5-10x32mm NXS with your standard flattop you can also use the LT-158 which has added cant and will fit closer to your weapon. You can't go wrong with Larue. You shouldn't go too high with your scope rings because the AR15 stock aren't too forgiving with proper eye relief.

My first hand experience with many LaRue mounts is a properly adjusted one will absolutely not gaul a quality rail. I have both optics mount on top rails and light mounts on quad rails. Taken on and off repeatedly with no damage.

I would agree if they would make a 30mm mount that was 1.25" rail to centerline, until they realize some high cheekboned stiff necked folks shoot too I'm stuck with USO......
