Hello!
I need help ;-). I made a decision to buy new sporting rifle in 308 Win to use it for building a tactical one.
I intend to use the rifle for 300 – 800 miters paper firing, and sometimes for hunting in different conditions.
A gunsmith said me that he could re inlet the rifle in a new stock. The stock is like AI type that Roedale Precsion makes for Tikka T-3 line with using AI plastic parts. Chassis is designed by the gunsmith and made from one block of aircraft aluminum. I think, this type of chassis may be better than original from AI…
He has made the stock for Tikka T-3 for one person by the moment. I think the stock should be very sturdy. And it looks grate! For the reason I decided to use the stock for building a new rifle.
But I haven’t decided yet which rifle should I use… I’m thinking about two: Sako-85 Varmint Laminated Stainless and Tikka T-3 SuperVarmint Stainless. They are much cheaper Remington Police at our city, and have in my opinion better quality…
The first is nice looking in my opinion, and has 3 locking lugs and fluted barrel. The second is cheaper, has covered top of a receiver to prevent dirt incoming, and has a Picatinni rail on the top of the receiver (but not 20 MOA, just flat).
Late, when a barrel is near out wear, I intend to rebarrel the rifle with Lotar Valter barrel.
Guys what are yours opinions on the above rifle selection question?
Victor (k).
