Tommie, I have your score posted.200 yd Target for January
Shoot whatever distances are listed. No need to shoot multiple. Your choice.Hello and Happy New Year.
My question is about shooting the new JBell match. Do you need to shoot at all distances or can you enter by shooting only one?
Thanks,
Terry
JBell, was this 50 yards?I finally had a chance to participate today. New rifle to me, first time out. Just trying to see if it's going to shoot. Shooting SK standard plus, SK rifle match, and center x today. A little on each target. It was chilly at 28f.

Just two quick groups with three different types of ammo.

The wind picked up when I shot the last target and I just shot through it. No way to do anything about it without flags when shooting over snow and everything is frozen. Ha

I started on the bottom row without any sighters, there was a little wind and I was chasing it all over the target as you can see.

Ahhh, sorry. Yes the 6x5 was @ 50 and the others were at the specified distance (50 & 100). I think I scored them correctly, if not feel free to make the corrections when you post them. Thank you for keeping this alive!JBell, was this 50 yards?

jBell, very nice shooting. I updated your score on the Mini-Palma, and on your 6x5.Had a few minutes to get out today. Conditions were not optimal as it was a little cold @ 30⁰ but the wind was slight. I was only having up hold just off the bull to correct for wind when I would notice it.

I was going to shoot a 6X5 too but didn't bring the target so I shot a 10X5 to shoot the ammo I had pre loaded and get warmed up for the 100. 50 yards SK standard plus

Cournot, I have your January score posted. Here's my last target of January 2023 and my first of Feb 2023. Both shot with a stock Suhl 150.
First one: Cournot Jan 30, 2023 shot with Mueller scope and RWS Special Match ammo 200-8x.
Second one: Feb 1, 2023. Same scope and gun (Suhl 150) shot with Norma Match 22 red box. 200-6X

I'm a little fuzzy on what constitutes a match vs unlimited rifle, but the Suhl 150 I used in both targets was an unmodified factory Suhl so I think both are Match grade Match rifle scores.Cournot, I have your Feb target score posted.

Sometimes, the difference is not much at all. A stock Suhl would defiitely be a Match-Grade rifle, and you can always use it to shoot in a higher class, like Unlimited. It does not work the opposite way, taking an Unlimited custom rifle and shooting it in a lower class. Thanks for asking and I hope this helps?I'm a little fuzzy on what constitutes a match vs unlimited rifle, but the Suhl 150 I used in both targets was an unmodified factory Suhl so I think both are Match grade Match rifle scores.

Good shooting!

jBell, I guess your printer did get a little crazy... Good shooting on both matches. I have your scores posted!Got a few targets in today. The wind picked up on me on the last bull of my first 100 yard target card, and stayed a little gusty on the second card. The first card was going pretty good for the first 3, but that's rimfire. I need wind flags when everything is frozen.
I have my first group including the cold dirty bore on the 50 yard target. Then instincts kicked in on the first target for record and I shot a 5 round group for some reason. So the first 5 of the card are after that second group. Do feel like you have up count this card if you don't think it's fair.
Oh my printer lost it's damn mind when it printed the 100 yard cards. Sorry about the quality.

Depends on the match, and also depends on what you hope to get out of it. Your group could shoot locally, and keep track of the best score for your group locally, and have some bragging rights. You don't necessarily have to submit a target, if you want to shoot as a group locally.I'm trying to get a few people in my club to give this a whirl but it's lookin like if you don't shoot 197 or better, why bother. Is that the case?
Your scoring looks good. One clarification, do you want me to post your scores, or just for me to check your scoring?OK, thanks for the encouragement. . . I'm going to establish a baseline and hope I score this correctly. I did use a tool for a couple of close calls. It is the kind with the magnifier that we use in the "Bullseye" league. This will provide something to make your good shooters look really good. . . ;-)
Publish is fine. ThanksYour scoring looks good. One clarification, do you want me to post your scores, or just for me to check your scoring?

Tommie, I have your scores posted. Here is my first try at the 6.5 challenge match Target for group I found out on the last bullet you can really ruin a good group and are you can make a reasonable group terrible
Thanks Lee. I know what you mean by overdriving. I setup my Turbo V1 like my friends Turbo V3, thinking they should have a similar setup for ignition. Then, toward the beginning of October, I purchased the equipment to start measuring case depths, and low and behold, I was pounding the cases to about 0.030 average case depths, all last season. I started to methodically shoot 20 rounds, measure the case depths, and then adjust the spring/spacer to finally get the average down to 0.022 average. I found the spring alone delivered the case depths, without any spacers to adjust the ignition. An important lesson in there for me when setting up my rifle.Hi Larry, here is my Feb. UL target I know the months almost over. been working to get this new barrel tuned and I think I found the setting. had some trouble earlier and found I was over driving the firing pin. it is always said you need good ignition but too good is also bad. removed 1/4-oz from firing pin and it is now consistent not bad considering it was 39 degrees.
Lee
I never measure pin indentation depth. just visual and of course what I see on paper. you would think these examples are what you want. but when you start to see unexplained shots go way out or start to scatter it is probably the pin hit. Thanks Lee. Thanks John! I have your score posted. I am patiently (well, maybe not so much) waiting for some warmer weather in April. Just had 10" of wet snow overnight, so I am definitely ready to get outside and shoot!Larry good morning. Hope you’re staying warm in the frozen tundra. Won’t run it in.
Attached is my March submission. Based on this outing I’ll try to shoot it again. Not happy. I don’t play well in the wind. Not griping, just have to learn more.
Anyway I’m priming the pump hoping more will shoot this month.
Stay safe
