To minimize this they moved the target holders farther away from the berm at the club where I shoot. There's close to 30 feet behind the target "rails".

I could live with a steady updraft, it's the swirling that raises my ire.

Thank you Frank! I've repeated that so many times to people, I've gone blue in the face. I don't even bother anymore.

I agree 100% on this too.

I wish every parallax adjustable scope would be able to focus where focus and elimination of parallax matched the settings on the dial.
Some scopes even when focused properly have parallax markings that can be 1-200 yards different than what the dial says. Too bad the dials can't be moved to match the actual yardage when the parallax is eliminated...

I still think the OP needs to get some wind flags and really see what happens with changing winds. Or, attend a BR match and talk with the competitors to see what they think. If wind didn't affect bullet flight at 100 yards, then why would they bother to put the flags out...

Many times during a BR match, I've held off over 3/4 of an inch into the wind to get a bullet to into the group. It can be scary when you are in contention to win, but when you see the group size stay the same it feels good to know that you guessed correctly...

BTW I know this isn't Benchrest Central, but there is a lot of good info to be found there.
