So my mom and dad I'd say for pushing 80 are doing really well with today's tech. They are iPhone/iPad users and really don't have too many hiccups, but the one thing that still happens from time to time is they sit them on the counter and forget to charge. Well....that's become a more common theme 'oh my battery is about to tap out'. So as they always set the phones down in the same place on the kitchen counter hey why not a wireless 'forget it' charging station?

If you have had good luck, bad luck or anything else you want to share please feel free expound as I want this to be easy for them. I bring it, plug it in and say 'keep putting your phones right where you always do please' and be done with it. Thanks

Are you sure they really got low batteries or is it that they just look for an excuse to hang up on you? :sneaky:

Seriously, I don't really have experience with wireless charge pads, but I have all the devices used in my house fitted with magnetic plugs and we have magnetic charging cables all over the house and in all the rooms. We have them setting on the surfaces most common where we leave our devices and all we gotta do is set them down next to the cable end and *pop* it's charging. Might wanna give those a try if you decide against a charging pad.

    Anker does pretty good products.

    Flat style

We have these. Slightly slower on Apple but easier to place. Angled style.

    Or a 2 pack

These still need the ac adapter which anker also makes good products for.

I have a wireless charger in one of our vehicles. My only complaint is that it is slow compared to wired charging. And, if you have a case on your phone, it is even slower. And, some cases are too thick to allow charging through them.

I have had good luck with Anker batteries. Their chargers may be good too, re the recommendations above...

ahh good stuff thanks guys. they definitely have compatible phones. as long as the pads are not super picky about perfectly aligning them on the charger a particular way i think this could be great.

With the anker chargers. My wife's iPhone 12 pro is in a otterbox pop socket symmetry case. To charge she just has to take off the pop socket. My s21+ is in a lifeproof nuud case and no problems at all. Just have to center the phone on the stand. Not hard to do and the light turns on to tell youve got it right.

I use the Samsung fast charging stand next to my bed and the others we have scattered around the house. Wife has the 4 in 1 anker charger for her airpods, phone, watch, and charging her iPad (wired).

The stands work both portrait and landscape charging.

Wireless charging pad? They'll just forget to put it on the pad.

I think you are very on the right track. Stick the charger pad where they normally put the phone anyway (maybe even literally stick it so they can't move it away).

I have used 2-3 generations of the YooTech (who knows who actually makes them) and they are good but "picky" in position. They do beep if not quite lined up so you don't not charge but have to fix it.

Unfortunately, ALL of them seem to need semi-precise alignment. For example this good one:

Just has a larger flat area, and two charge points. But if you put it in the wrong place on the flat area, no charge.

I tend to think the little round ones are better because they imply it goes there. Maybe... figure out the alignment for them and put a big sticker the size of the charger on the back, or something, to imply the alignment.

Note: Some are weird on their plug shapes, even power provided, so assume you have to use the cord they came with.

Worst case: wireless chargers are awesome. You take it home and use it yourself :)
