Hunting & Fishing World Record Typical Elk?

Canned hunt. Shame because its an AWESOME ELK!
Maybe $10g's worth

When officially measured by SCI in 60 days, this will be the new world record for a typical elk. The current score done by an SCI Master Measurer is 525 typical and 546 non-typical. It will number 1 typical and number 4 non-typical. Forget it's score and look at the mass of each point and you will realize how unique this bull rely is. I shot him at the Broadmouth Canyon Ranch in Idaho on August 18. It was a challenging hunt on horse back and foot in the middle of the Black Foot Mountains of Idaho.

That is an Incredible Specimen!

Speaking from first hand experience- Idaho is a challenging state to hunt. Very big mtn ranges and varied terrain.

However I have to ask, how challenging, terrain aside can a "canned hunt" be?

Awesome animal, but its not hunting when you have a 100% success rate and there is a 8ft high fence over the next ridge. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'd rather shoot a spike or a cow in the wild than a "world record" from a petting zoo.

Not saying anything about this "canned" hunt, but I have been riding shotgun on some and I can tell you that some "canned" areas and hunts don't differ from true hunts. I know most are BS, but just saying there are and the few I have been on are a hunt. 4 days w/o seeing nothing and miles traveled, no BS, just hunting, some didn't collect.
I have also hunted that felt like canned that were not.

Regardless, awesome animal.
