I never said NF had tracking issues. Tracking error isn’t the same as tracking issues.
As for that 5-25, it’s a Beast, so maybe they had better glass than the 5-25 ATACR.
Its relative to what your value is based on. I like Kahles 6x24 Scopes, I have (2) and they work every time. I have (2) ZCO and think they are fantastic.

Seriously, I have no problem admitting lack of knowledge and I learn something every day. What is the difference between tracking error and tracking issues in rifle scopes? I searched a bit and only found articles in investment portfolios. A tracking issue would a problem and a tracking error would be the specific result of that tracking issue.
But I don't know if that relates to this discussion.

Fine, let me expand then. I have never liked the image more than any other reasonably equivalent scope on the firing line when looking through them on various others rifles at matches. Equivalent others I refer to being a 1500 and up scope be it atacr, razor, k525, and even xtrs and cronus.
So to see if I could change my opinion, because I really wanted to like them like you seem to, I spent two solid days with one trying to like it on my own rifle and still didnt. The not seeing a target like that was just the most poignant example. Its not just one experience, Id call it one extended experience and lots of little other ones.
As to the not a fluke comment, the owner was placing high in two days with it before I borrowed it and went right back to it after, so I doubt that single scope was an issue.
So because I havent liked them ever, to me they are the worst value.

As for thinking that every model of a certain scope has the same quality glass is pure fantasy. Go look through an early serial number nx8, and a current one side by side. Night and day difference.

If you seriously cannot tell the difference between all the optics listed, then you have no place giving anyone advise IMO. Even my buddies who do not like ZCO for whatever reason, would never say the glass is on par with garbage like a cronus or kahles. Then again they also aren't blind.

What if Rex was right and the S&B shows glare but the Arken does not? Does that mean that the Arken is performing better in that regard? And does that fit into the trope of expensive scopes not being worth the money paid?

I have a variety of “good” scopes from an old USO SN3, a couple of 4-16 PM2s, a 5-20 US SB, ZCO, March, a Bushnell XRS2 and a bunch of LRHSs (I put the Bushnells in because I really can’t fault them).
Scopes that weren’t “worth it” to me were any of the older NXS NF scopes, I’ve had a few and found the glass average, a Gen 1 Vortex PST4-16 and a Burris XTRii, glass was pretty awful on both also.
Oh and a Steiner Military 3-12x50. Felt like you could bash in tent pegs with it, but after about 400 rounds of .308 it literally fell to pieces and had to be sent back.

Having owned both scopes I do not agree Arken controls glare better than S&B. Arken is a good looking scope that is not good to look through. That about sums it up.
