Re: Wortth converting from target knobs to M1 knobs?
I converted a low-pro knob for the M1 knob. I couldn't dial dope well with the low-pro knob at all. I really like the M1 style and it has served me well. At the same time I changed a duplex reticle out for the TMR reticle. It was a little pricey, but well worth the $$$ in my opinion. I only changed out the elevation knob because I usually hold wind. I can still dial wind with the low-pro knob, but I never do. With the TMR, I've got positive hold-overs for the wind (which is usually changing out here).
IIRC, the target knobs are only waterproof if the cap is on, where the M1 is waterproof, no cap required. I may be wrong about that, Leupold can tell you for sure. Don't know if that is important to you, but I would suspect that may be an issue in WA.
If you're cranking on the knob much, that cap will get set aside and possibly lost - something that I don't have to worry about any more. Way more important for moving/hunting that for spending time on a square range.
Hope this helps...I'm happy with mine.
