Suppressors Yankee Hill Stainless 7.62 can

Re: Yankee Hill Stainless 7.62 can

Great performing can, I dont even want to say for the money, because it performs better than $1000+ suppressors.

I could care less about the weight of it, not like I can hunt with it anyway, and its no heavier than other stainless cans in its class. You have to compare apples to apples here, the OP obviously cant afford a $1300+ TI can or he wouldve said so.

Lined up at a night shoot with the following cans, all 308 bolts: SRT shadow xl, SWR omega, Tbac, tigershark, and I feel like there was one more Ti cant remember which. YHM was as quiet as the rest, and had a better tone than most. One of the very expensive Ti cans has a nasty tinny sound to it.

The area it performs best is muzzle flash suppression though. It was one of the only cans that 100% completely hid the flash. Looking at them from about 45deg in front of them, most you could see a small, but very noticeable flash come through the end. The YHM you could not even tell a gun was being fired.

Granted I dont have the money for expensive cans, but theres a reason I have a SS Mite 3 months into the paperwork, and a Phantom 338 coming to my dealer right now.....and its not because I work for them because I dont.

Have you looked at the titanium phantom yet? Major malfunction is going to be selling them for only $2-300 more than the stainless models.

I have the QD stainless in .30. I use it on many different rifles. I like it but it is very heavy compared to the competition and the exit hole is about .400 so it is leaving some sound suppression on the table.

It makes my 260 and 243 sounds like a paintball gun..... I have no complaints

Thank you gentlemen for the reply posts. As far as the Ti goes. I want a thread on and Yhm doesn't make one so thread on it is. I didn't want to install a QD mount on my bolt gun. But I have one on my M16.

KYS, when shooting subs? </div></div>

Nope. standard off the shelf ammo
There would be zero point in shooting a 260 or 243 in subsonic form. It would be a waste of time.

Re: Yankee Hill Stainless 7.62 can

I can't say anything bad about mine, except we all know its on the heavier side. That being said I still hunt with mine. I have the qd mount so when I am ready to shoot I just thread it on right before taking the shot, that way my rifle is shorter and lighter when carried in the field. After you zero it in with the suppressor on, taking it off and on does not affect the point of impact in my experience.

Also, yhm is making titanium cans now, and I think the price is way more affordable than other ti cans. Plus, I think they almost cut the weight in half compared to the stainless steel version and it still is warrantied up to 300 rum and full auto, but don't take my word for it. You may want to look into that to be sure.

I use my can on a 308 bolt, 308 semi-auto, and my dta srs chambered in 6.5x47 lapua, and my soon to be spr.

Re: Yankee Hill Stainless 7.62 can

The YH titanium can is only avail in quick detach, so no go for me.
My CroMoly YH can, while heavy, performs beautifully and was a bargain. $650 for the stainless ain't bad.

Re: Yankee Hill Stainless 7.62 can

I have the Qd one, and use it on several hosts, but for bolt guns and accuracy I wish mine was the direct thread one. I put a mark on my mount and the can on my bolt gun so i can get repeatability of POI shift.
