I have done a great deal of research and have gone off of mostly what "tiborasaurusrex" on his YouTube channel has recommended. Pretty much all of his stuff in the "Sniper 101" series (that I have seen so far) makes a lot of sense.
So from his recommendations, which are reasonably old now, a fixed scope is 'tougher' than a variable power.
Regarding make and models, I was thinking of:
SWFA SS 10x42
or
going to the other end of the spectrum with a Schmidt and Bender (S&B) PMII 10x42.

US optics do the FDN FX10 10X42MM but they are more expensive than the S&B for me in Australia- are they as good as a S&B?
I noticed in another forum that the Bushnell Elite Tactical LRS 10x42 Rifle Scope is another option but they aren't listed on their website- are they now redundant, and if not, are they any good?

The SWFA's are a pain to get here in Australia because I'd have to send it to a forwarder such as "Hop-Shop-Go" because of their policies...

And then I saw the following statement on another website and was hoping someone here could verify its credibility:
"The old school benefit of fixed power being sturdier is gone with the newer scope designs/materials/manufacturers."

I have had 2 lower end optics break on me in the last 6 months so I want something bulletproof. My requirements for a scope are that it has to have mil or moa markings (for rangefinding) and turrets designed for constant adjusting. The S&B PMII and SWFA SS are military rated. Do you guys know what else fits into these requirements? Tiborasaurusrex claims that he broke a PMII with variable magnification, which shows to me that even the best of the best with variable magnification are still no match compared to fixed magnification when it comes to ruggedness.

Anyway, I'd be interested in people's experience and knowledge on the matter.

I have a Tikka T3X Tac A1…

A month ago I noiced hat Mountain TactIcal was listing billet magazines for the T3X series.

For giggles I ordered one as they had them in stock.

well it turns out they didn’t even have them produced yet… And apparently they were waiting for them to arrive. ( it seems they’re still waiting for them to arrive)

am I just unlucky or has anyone else had a problem with these guys?

One thing thats been on my mind since this intentional outbreak is that there are no public waste bins for disposal of masks. When PPE is used to enter contaminated areas (Even suspected contaminated areas) it must be properly disposed of. The use of PPE is to protect the user from the associated hazards. Not worn forever without proper disinfecting and/or disposal. And definitely not worn daily while traveling into businesses, meeting untold amounts of people, and putting this little personal cesspool back on time and time again when you have to. How many people are carrying this contaminated mask into every place they go, and put it back in their pocket?

Why dont we see public hazardous waste bins anywhere? Yes I know the answers to this thread. Its more of a statement than a question lol

Finally got the kit together and all in one place. Dug up my old flight crew checklist with all my ballistic charts etc, and my Mil Dot Master (not the one in the pic) from I went to school with back in the day. Made for a cool addition to the pakage. This build holds that special place.

I am guessing it is something made by LOW or assembled in the USA of German parts?

Guys, up for grabs, used Tangent Theta 525 with Gen 3 XR Reticle, glass in perfect shape, everything works as expected (it’s a Tangent after all!) turret clicks sound perfect and it even comes with an aftermarket throw lever and everything that came with it in the box (ARD, Tenebraex caps, documentation and box itself).

As expected with any pre-owned scope, some wear marks are present (pictures below), but they are just cosmetic… again, fit and function is right on point!!! I got this scope as a partial trade from another forum member but I’m now going a different route with my build… my loss is your gain!

This is a situational ethics question. The scenario below is one which could possibly happen. You will be presented with the information then asked to choose a course of action.

Here is the scenario:

You live in an upscale neighborhood in suburbia. The neighbors are an eclectic group with a great deal of diversity and education levels. The house that you live in is at the end of a cul-de-sac. One of your more colorful neighbors lives near the entrance of the cul-de-sac about two houses from your home.

This neighbor’s yard is festooned with Biden-Harris, BLM, ANTIFA, anti-gun and COVID vaccination signs. She’s very outspoken on her beliefs that all guns should be banned. Anything that she disagrees with is considered hate speech. She believes that anyone criticizing the CDC or Dr. Fauci should be put on a terrorist watch list. If she had her way, they would all be in “re-education centers” with their children placed in approved foster homes.

She’s garnered lots of media attention with her gun buy-back programs and petitions to the city to ban gun stores and anyone with FFLs from inside the city limits. She has even petitioned the state legislature to release the names and address of everyone that has CCW permits.

Your neighbor exhibits a particular disdain for homeschoolers and calls them Neanderthals. She’s an atheist with the “coexist” bumper sticker on her car.

Her husband is a very frail man, looks very unhealthy, gaunt, and effeminate. Their teenage son identifies as a transgender and fancies rainbow-colored skirts that go down no farther than his knees. Both parents are very supportive of his gay pride parties and back yard cookouts with friends crowding the Jacuzzi and indulging in margaritas and vegan hors d'oeuvres.

You do your best to conceal the fact that you like guns. You’ve gone to the point to put the long guns in cases that appear to be those which would accommodate electric keyboards with stickers like “Yamaha” and “Casio” on the outside. You do this to avoid controversy and attract the attention of would-be-burglars. Nevertheless, she’s been seen eyeing you with some suspicion through her binoculars from her living room window.

I have a Tangent Theta 525P with gen 2xr reticle that is in excellent shape and it’s fresh from tangent theta. There was a scratch on the objective lens so I sent it back to tangent and they charged me 300$ to change the lens. It’s in top knotch condition and ready to go! 4000 shipped
