Suppressors Abel Company - new offerings - Suppressors!

Hey Everyone,

We'd like to formally announce a new offering from Abel Co to the members of SnipersHide! The Biscuit and Biscuit-S suppressors - our first 2 models (with plenty more to come down the line). For those that don’t know us, we designed and manufacture the Abel Table, a modular tac table that can be used for a multitude of different tasks.

Abel Company was created to provide quality products and resources that support American citizens, our military and our law enforcement. The owners of Abel Co. come from a long background of Aerospace & Defense manufacturing and fabrication - experience and knowledge that we take into Abel Company. Our goal is to grow Abel into a defense solutions company that provides goods and knowledge to our customers.

Our Suppressor - The Biscuit/Biscuit-S

Our concept, that we took to development, is to make a suppressor that functions well on every platform and mostly caters to individuals who want one suppressor for ALL of their firearms We have done extensive testing on our end to hit several key criteria prior to approving release to market.

The key criteria we achieved is as follows:
1. Suppress sound (obviously) to levels under/near 140 Db at the shooter's ear per MIL-STD-1474. This criteria was achieved; different platforms yield different results, but overall this was achieved. We use the B&K Impulse Noise Evaluation System (PULSE) for all in-house testing and we partnered with PewScience to provide 3rd party testing.
2. Create a suppressor that does not add significant length or weight to the firearm. This was a mandatory design characteristic for us as a result of meeting with active LE/MIL personnel that made their concerns known. This suppressor must be at home on a precision bolt gun and in a CQC environment.
3. Minimize the back pressure felt/experienced by the shooter and the host weapon system. This is especially important as we are marketing this suppressor as a do-all suppressor and it musty perform reliably on gas-sensitive systems.
4. Minimal to non-existent POI shift and predictable repeatability.
5. Affordability. It is important to us that we manufacture and sell suppressors that are affordable to the consumer.

The Biscuit was designed as a "Jack of all trades” suppressor. It is 1.80”-1.85” in diameter, fully-welded 17-4 stainless (heat-treated to the H900 condition) and features an industry standard 1.375x24 threaded mounting end. The Biscuit weighs in at 15.9 ozs, is 5.5” long and is rated as a hard use suppressor. The end cap is welded but can be ordered in .223 or .30 exit diameters. It can be used on anything from SBRs to magnum bolt guns. We have tested and rated it up to 300PRC.

While this was not designed to be a specific bolt gun only can, it has proven to be excel when testing POA/POI shifts (I personally shot a 10 shot group where every other round was attached vs off and it was under 1 inch).

The MSRP for the biscuit is $790 and the S is $700. We will be offering an introductory discount for Hide members so please PM me for the code. Please ask us any questions you have in this thread and we will be happy to answer them.

Navy Question

I'm currently writing my father's obituary and I'm trying to make sure I get his service accurately notated.

His pay rate was E-4 but his grade was FTC 3. E-4 = petty officer third class but FTC 3 = Chief Petty Officer. When describing it in a sentence do I use chief petty officer or petty officer third class?

I guess I'm asking what is the correct way to word it so it is accurate? He worked on the phalanx system FYI.

Nuke some fleas

Y’all got any advice on handling fleas in and around a dog pen? My poor dogs are fucked. I’ve tried flea baths, permethrin dips, sevin dust, frontline, advantix, I’ve sprayed the whole yard 3 or 4 times with permethrin and once with something else. Centrix or something like that. Short of burning the whole things down, anybody got any magic pill?

the internet is no help. It wants me to go all natural and put the fleas in timeout.

Feedback Scammed Alert

Well, I guess it was bound to happen at some point. I started a thread on here in search of a Manners EH1 stock and received a message from someone who's name I can't recall other than "sam" and then there were several numbers behind the name. Funny thing is now that user is gone and my messages to him are gone along with him. Long story short the guy he put me in contact with sends pics of the stock and has yet to ship the so called stock that he has. After having enough of the excuses I asked to have him refund the money I had sent him and I'm being Ghosted. Anyways, I made some rookie mistakes that will never be made again. Keep your transactions on any online platform tight to the vest guys because the world we are living in is full of crooks.

The new Shipping Wars??

Just a few things I've been hearing about recently with regards to shipping thru USA ports.
> Container ships are loaded up ready to offload. Just can't get to the dock.
> Dock workers are considering a strike ....well cause why let a good crisis go to waste?
> Hiring gap to fill CDL drivers has been growing wider/at it's widest point to date (has been wider longer) since June 2020
> Coca-Cola seems to now be pushing it to the next level. They are moving away from buying container space to buying ship space. I.E Bulk loading their products into holds. Not loading their bottled products into containers.

Maybe it's time.....

Need help sizing DC motor for mover

I am NOT an electrical engineer. And I'm good with that. However, I need advice from one.

I have everything installed, except the electronics, for the mover at my range. Now I need to figure out what size motor.

If any of you really smart people would like to help a fella out, I would be greatly appreciated. Hell, I'll even hire you to tell me what to get.

Let me know what figures you need and I'll get them.

We can talk here, in PM, text or on the phone. I don't care. I just need to get this thing up and running before my next match, which is coming up in about 1 1/2 weeks.

Considering a move to the SW

Apparently my wife has had her fill of the Gulf Coast. She pitched the idea to me of moving to New Mexico out of nowhere. Between the heat, hurricanes, a huge influx of development and other BS....she's had her fill of Louisiana.

Basically we both agree on somewhere in the high desert/plains. Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico area. I'm familiar somewhat but have never spent more than a few months in any of those areas so not sure of any unique considerations I'm not aware of. Any input is welcome and appreciated.

We are in an advance planning stage and still trying to narrow our focus. I hope this is the right sub for such a random, oddball question (and that it's even a viable topic).

Have at it guys!

ARC Nucleus

Just putting this out there in case someone had a question or are on the fence about one of these actions. I will say first and foremost, I'm not brand loyal. I'll shoot any brand if it works. I own Defiance, Kelby and the ARC Gen 1.1. actions. I ran my ARC this weekend and for those who shot the GAP Grind, the weather was shitty. Rain and mud was plentiful all weekend long. All I can say about the Nucleus is that thing ran like a champ all weekend long despite the wet, muddy conditions. I ran is slow and easy at times while other stages, I ran it hard and fast when I was pressed for time. Not once did it ever give me any kinds of issues as far as cycling, ejecting, going bang and was smooth as silk throughout the entire match. I never oiled anything, wiped anything down or blew any debris out that may have gotten in it. The rifle set in and out of the weather pretty much all weekend. It took me quite a bit of time to get everything cleaned up yesterday. Just wanted to commend ARC for building a damn nice action for the money that runs and to just mention my experience with it for anyone that may be thinking about picking one up in the future. For the money of these, I think they are a great deal......

Optics SOLD Tangent Theta 5-25 Gen 3 XR 98/100

Too busy to shoot matches much anymore, and this is too nice of a scope to let sit around.

Tangent Theta, 5-25 Gen 3 XR (one of the best reticles ever in my opinion). Scope is in excellent condition, nothing at all wrong with it except 2 things;
1. No scope caps
2. It has dust on it from not being used.

The white marker on the parallax is because I much prefer to have yardage indicators on my parallax to "pre-set" before a stage. It was just written on with a left over piece of marker tape from my spot hogg yardage wrap. I can gladly take it off, and any remaining adhesive wipes right off.

Scope is in 98/100

$3900 shipped and insured. Payment via however the buyer feels comfortable; but check and money order will hold not ship until funds clear.
