Like new. Impulse purchase, bought it new last month at Bass Pro (recent production). Ran maybe 20rds through it, ran flawlessly and has a very smooth action. Accuracy wise, I just shot some steel plates at various distances after a 5rd sight in. Definitely was printing tight though.

Will include factory box and 1 magazine as new.

Global Corporate Tax rate

So world leaders have just agreed upon a global corporate tax rate of 15%, saying it will not affect small businesses. What else is in it, is that the corporation will not only pay taxes where their HQ is, but where they generate revenue. as stated in the articles I am referencing, Ireland's corporate tax rate is 12.5%, which has attracted lots of companies to establish their HQ's there.

Ballistic adv barrels

What do we think of BA barrels? I know tney do a ton of oem stuff as well private label.

I have a couple of 556, and they shoot well for what they are. (14.5” and 16”) that shoot ~1” at 100 with garden variety reloads, and a 1x6 viper.

Yes I also have some DD and Criterion stuff for hard use stuff, should I need. But a buddy hates them and calls them “hobby grade”. It’s just not been my experience.

What’s the consensus?

Tesla moving HQ to Texas

Tesla moving Tesla HQ to Austin, along with building an assembly plant as well. Are my Texas friends concerned about the blu-ing of Texas? Hopefully this will bring jobs to the area, but, the people the state is attracting, is making the state purple.

HUGE velocity swings - WTF??

Today I finally got out to start development in my new 6CM Proof Research barrel for my AI-AT. I was very optimistic after I shot a few strings of factory Berger 109 and Hornady 108 ELDMs. Both of those shot half inch right out of the box.

So I loaded up a string of 5x 3 shot ladders of Superperformance with the 109 Berger LRHT bullets and another 5x ladder of 105 Berger Hybrids with IMR 4451. For both, consulted Hogden’s load site and started on the lower end of the Min/Max range. My goal was to try to match the factory velocities around 2960 ish.

At the start of this test, the barrel probably had a max of 20 rounds and was not cleaned since the factory round test the week prior. I shot another factory 3 shot group of the Berger 109 factory yellow box. They were almost dead on velocity from the previous session, maybe 15 FPS slower than the previous session as it was quite cooler. So I started with the 109s and Superperformance. Brass was virgin Lapua and Fed 205M primers. First string was a huge velocity split. 180 ES and an SD of 92.
DA1A1673-D4B0-4E98-A95C-B0E72C57ACE0.png

The next 2 were slightly better ES in the 80s ans SD’s in the 40s.
#4
531DE578-19F0-4C40-9271-6D141188EB6A.png

The last ladder was a spread of 80.

Accuracy was not terrible, maybe .75” or so. I was seriously thinking my Chargemaster 1500 was F’d. No way could I see these kinds of spreads.

So with dread, I began the next ladder with the 105 Bergers and IMR 4451 thinking either my powder thrower or LabRadar had sh*t the bed. The next five Strings were SD of 19, 14, 8, 3.5 and 5.1.

Any clue what would cause 200 foot spreads like that? All were virgin Lapua, match primers, neck mandreled, etc. WTF?

If money were no object....SQUIRREL SCOPES!!

Hello Fellas,

Long time listener, first time caller!

I have recently placed an order for a Vudoo V22 360 in 17M2.....with a field type stock with the ultimate Squirrel getter in mind.

My question to all of you is.....with a maximum budget of say $1,500 - $2,000 for glass....WHAT and WHY would that particular scope be your huckleberry?

Light transmission and optical clarity are must haves. As far as features I think I want:

Side Focus
Lighted reticle option (center only gets higher points)
Zero stop and lockable windage (or capped is fine as well) I dont plan to dial in the woods.
I'm leaning SFP but not 100% sure
3-18X or 4-16X

I have many Leupolds and they are ok but seem to fall short as far as brightness and light transmission in the woods.....especially with leaves on and cloudly days. I box full of price point scopes as well....all underwhelming.

I'd welcome any and all input on this subject.....as I want to buy once, cry once on this one.

I have a couple of contenders but currently but welcome any suggestions and squirrel scope 'theroy".

In the running:

Zeiss Conquest V4 4-16X50 SFP
Trijicon Credo HX 4-16X50 SFP
Trijicon Accupoint 4-16X50 SFP
NightForce SHV 4-14X50 FFP
NightForce NXS 3.5-15X50 SFP

I am open to suggestions and hope to hear some real in-field reports on optical performance.

Thank you all and I look forward to our discussion! CT

SOLD CZ455 22LR

Have this in a laminate blue stock, bit of bedding with JB Weld. Anschutz forend rail. I used this in indoor four position comps for a couple years. Regularly shot in the 370s with Eley match. Trigger has been lightened up to under one pound. Overall it's a decent shooter but I'm getting a Vudoo to use instead for NRL type comps so this has to go. Will come with a 10 round mag. Make a fair offer for purchase and shipping.

I'm supposed to include a price, sorry. Haven't sold anything here in a while. I can do $400 shipped to your FFL.

Heads Up if You Ordered from Brownell's recently, Check Your CC Charges

Just got hit for almost $5K from some tire place in FL after using the card for primers at Brownell's. They tried to run the charge multiple times and was declined the first time then I was contacted. This is the 2nd time this has happened after online purchases at Brownell's.

Take me to church

Preach to me about a few things please;

American rifle company actions - is the mausingfield a good one?

The all carbonfiber manners stocks are good? I suspect that the laminated wood stocks are long dead, or do they still serve well?

Interested in using detachable magazines and having a doall type rifle. Had thought a 6.5-08 improved 40 would be about right. Using 24 to 26" barrel.

Send all the experience, insight or personal views my way please. I know zero and all responses will be taken in good faith.

Thank you.

WHY we don't need ID to vote.....????

How about a press conference on this? Maybe the LA Times can explain or Gavin Newsom.

Jury duty...let this sink in!!!

Last year 449,163 Californians received a jury duty summons to which
they declined, using the "I am not a citizen, therefore I cannot sit
on a jury" provision.
The source for jury duty candidates is the VOTER REGISTRATION list.
Think about that for a minute , and then tell me there is NO Voter Fraud!

What's up with this throat?

I built 2 rifle in the last month with barrels from 2 companies. The carbon 6 barrel had some problems I posted in another thread. The second barrel is from proof. Now it's on the very edge of sammi spec for 7 mag. Max is .227, using my .223 nogo gauge and a few pieces of scotch tape I found my head space to be about .226. I'm still waiting on a field gauge to confirm but the minimum is .220 and they are not even close to that. Now look at this throat, my guess is the remer was not the tightest fit and favored one side over the other. What do you think? Should I bring it to their attention or is this just what I should expect from companies turning out barrels.
