I am looking at putting a new bolt gun together and have been looking at getting a barreled action from Straight Jacket. The Terminus Zeus looks like a really nice, solid, and reputable receiver and the quick change option looks like it would be a nice feature. However after I looked at how this quick change feature works I'm skeptical.

I just cant imagine that 2 set screws and a hand tight barrel wont walk its way out. It didn't appear to me that the barrel has any type of spot face or drilled hole that the set screws index into but rather just a smooth non-angled cylindrical surface that 2 cup point set screws sit against @10 ft lbs. Mechanically does not sound viable to me.

Does anyone have first hand experience with this and can speak to the repeatability/soundness of the quick change system?

When i tried to zero it in best i could get at 100 yards was 2.5 inches above bullseye. My question is do they make shims for it or do i need to order a 30 moa base

A word to the wise.
I was surprised to get an email advertising flood damaged vehicles up for auction. Being from Louisiana I have seem thousands of flood damaged vehicles. Seems I remember some laws of the State that said they had to be destroyed. I remember after hurricanes every flood damaged car was taken to a giant area, fluids drained and a D-10 Caterpillar walked over them until they were flattened. This eliminated insurance companies from paying more than once for a vehicle. I guess with the shortage of used vehicles and perhaps different laws in other states.... We will be seeing flood damaged cars showing up in the market place. Let the buyer beware.
