Half Face Blades...

Someone school me on half face blades! Didnt we used to have a knife section on the boards? Am I going blind? Anyways so what’s the deal with these? Any good? Seems they are impossible to get. I seen some of his stuff and liked a few things but know nothing about them other than he seems to do super limited runs and they sell out within seconds...

Droppin a deuce

Got this lil project finished (mostly) up last weekend. Pretty stoked with how it turned out, considering the condition I got it in, and that I had no previous experience with such shenanigans.

Happy to answer any questions, I learned quite a bit with this one.

Also, wife wants a Stewart/Stevenson so this one is looking for a new home ;)

What are your gear choices?

Ok folks let’s just have some fun. I am watching a discussion develop on the shotgun forum and it brought to mind a thought. Since this is snipershide.com we will limit equipment to survival, personal defense, SHTF, combat and battle preparedness competitions or drills. If you had to kill something for food any of these tools could get the job done. You don’t know what situation you may find yourself in so here is the question. You are limited to five weapons, one from each category and a pack; (caliber, barrel length, configuration, set up, equipment, optics, ammo, brand etc.)The categories are; shotgun, sniper rifle, battle rifle, handgun, knife and pack. What are you going with?

Rimfire Vudoo V22 Raven****Sold

Raven with custom stock paint and cerakot. It's like new in the box. 2800 invested in it after paint and cerakote. I thought the stock needed extra black webbing and paid to have that done from them. Trigger is the timney 510 hunter. And it is surprisingly very good. Only reason for selling is another toy. 1850 shipped. Scope and rings not included.

The gun is a 3/8 or better at 50 with sk rifle match. I have less than 3000rds on it

SOLD Awesome custom 223 trainer/shorty/coyote rig bolt gun! - SPF

This is probably one of my favorite guns in the safe, but it also almost never gets shot and I’m trying to be good about moving the ones that I never use.

Built by Justin @ Spinners Fit and Chamber:
- Spinners Hammer Action (rebranded Tuebor Legion) w/ 20 MOA rail
- Xcal 1:7 twist 16.5” MTU barrel threaded 1/2x28
- cerakoted action and barrel, bolt is DLC
- triggertech diamond two stage gold (from their Black Friday run)
- Screech Owl collapsible chassis (these are so cool and very solid)
- comes with (1) 10 round MDT mag. More available to the buyer.
- round count: 85 rounds
- accuracy: I’ve never shot factory ammo. It has all been handloads with 77 SMKs and 80gr CCs. Haven’t completed hand loading for it but have loads both shooting about 3/4 MOA currently. I’m confident it can do even better.
- weight: I don’t know, but don’t expect it to be super light with a truck axle contour
- overall length is 29” went collapsed just for clarification

Optics, rings, and bipod not included but can be purchased for extra (I have lots of optics to choose from).

$2,700 shipped and insured to your FFL.

CNC crashed my new 300 PRC barrel

Well, the CNC lathe decided to take a bow yesterday and ram the entire tool turret into my new 300prc barrel as i was on the last pass of threading for the tuner. so very depressing, but impressive, pretty sure it bent the last 3 inches of the barrel as that's all that was sticking out. Optical encoder decided to take a shit.

life goes on.... post pics once i get it out of the machine...

Ahhhh what, more deals with the Taliban?

At this point who could actually believe in any figment of the imagination that this is in any way remotely beneficial to our interests. Worse then operation fast and furious me thinks, yeah... just a little!

Lost motivation...

Long time Service Rifle shooter, some Long Range, Bull's Eye, and tried getting into 3 Gun. I also run the monthly club High Power Rifle 100 yard match. Since the end of Quarantine last summer I haven't been as motivated to shoot matches.

I tried adding 3 Gun for a change of pace a few years ago, but their isn't anything local.

I've been kicking around a Long Range weekend class a few hours away but other than that I'm out of ideas.

Other than giving up the Club Program, which will be the end of it if no one steps up, any other ideas for motivation?

To demonstrate the loss of motivation, I have a brand new in the box Autotrickler V3 that I bought last summer and haven't even opened.

6.5 creedmoor whitetail round

So last year, I built a 6.5 grendel. Due to the ammo shortage I was only able to find American eagle 120 grain OTM which was extremely accurate. I shot 1 whitetail at about 300 yards. It obliterated it's shoulder and the internal damage was minimal at best. I couldn't even find a hole in the lungs or heart. Not sure how it even died. Second one I shot was at 70 yards, lungs were jello and the exit wound was larger than a silver dollar. I know people hunt with OTM and I did take 2 deer with it, but I don't have alot of confidence in the round at all. For my creedmoor, I'd like to start reloading, but I will be buying factory ammo for it this year. Any suggestions on what I should use? I'll have opportunity to take whitetail from 10 yards all the way out to about 400. Also, any explanation as to why that happened with the 300 yard shot? Was there just not enough kinetic energy? Thanks

Where were you?

Where were you twenty years ago today? How did you hear about what had been done to us?
I had been out of the Army for 8 months, was on vacation in the Boundary Waters with some friends... One was an investment banker, never away from his phone... that's how we heard. Paddled out immediately and caught up with the world the next morning. I reenlisted the next week... What about you?
