Powder IN-STOCK thread

8208 is also at my LGS. Seems they dropped everywhere. 8208, H4895 and Varget but Varget 8# have been in stock for a while now.

Just to get an idea, is it comparable in price to the MidwayUSA pricing? I have one 8 pounder in cart and comes out to close to $450ish.

Don't know if I want to pay that or just get benchmark or n133 for cheaper.

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

He already did that with the M2 before he launched the Mausingfield, you can still find some info on it but I believe he said at the time there wasn’t a big enough market to produce it.
Exactly. That market is primarily custom and prices would have to reflect the low volume. The market would be small.

Precision Seating Die Options

Interesting. I thought several times that the k&m arbor press could be responsible but kept thinking how could something so simple be the problem. So i kept buying dies. Sinclair/ Wilson, Micron, SAC Infinity, and the Redding Comp (for standard press).
As for runout the SAC and Redding almost always was the best. Occasionally, the Micron worked well with different sizing methods. Maybe I need to try a different arbor press. It did help a lot to not squeeze the necks down so much and then expand them back up. Had couple of respected people suggest that works better for them and I'm sure it did. It just didn't for me. It ALWAYS works better for ME to squeeze down necks to about 0.002 below expanded OD only so that expanding only moves necks between 0.001 to 0.002.
It's just weird i used to get TIR of 0.002 bullet runout consistently. This was with a Redding press, Forster Honed sizing die, aka Redding comp seater on the Redding press. I tried UPGRADING to now current equipment and can't duplicate 0.002. Usually I get 0.003 to 0.004 now. It still shoots awesome anyways. Just shot 5 three shot groups doing powder charge test and worst of 5 was 0.47. Other 4 at lower charges were between 0.19 to 0.30. So it really don't matter with runout for me.

Finding a wife

I wouldn't blame anyone for giving Alice Kramden "a trip to the moon." However, if you do that, you will be playing right into their hands.

Women will bait their husbands into losing their temper and even smacking them across the mouth. Do that and you will be looking at jail time and a conviction for domestic violence.

I cannot emphasize this enough. The women will be looking for an opportunity to point a finger at you and say; "See! He always does this. He is constantly losing his temper. I'm in fear for my life and that of my children. He needs locked up"

Give the mouthy cunt a black eye and that's evidence against you. Get a domestic violence charge against you and you will be ruined. Also kiss you're guns goodbye.

And if you live in a red-flag state, she won't even need to show a black eye. It will be her word against yours. She will pour on the waterworks in front of a judge at an ex-parte hearing.

The next thing you know, the SWAT team will be knocking down your door at 3:00 AM and you will be handcuffed in the front yard while they are throwing your prized firearms on a tarp to be bundled up and taken away.

You won't be able to tell the cops that you've been wronged. They will respond, "tell it to the judge."

I have learned the hard way that to respond to women like that is to simply walk away. If you must speak, be very respectful, polite, sweet and kind. Try to talk like Mr. Rogers. I'm not joking about the Mr. Rogers part!

Does that sound like giving in. Yes it does but NEVER give them an excuse to point a finger at you and level false allegations against you.

I guarantee you, the sweet approach will set them off and they will resort to acting like a squealing pig. They may even resort to throwing the first punch or using sharp objects against you.

Try to get out before that happens. Remember that her most powerful weapon are the courts and your chance of survival is as good as swimming naked in the Bering Sea.

Always assume that you will be recorded. The audio or video evidence will start when you react. The part where she gets mouthy or yelling will NEVER be part of the evidence. Only the part where you shout will be heard by a cunt judge.

You must ALWAYS show that you are the responsible adult. You may even have to appear to be a pussy. That's a shame but it's better than a domestic violence charge.

Has anyone ever heard of a man getting a criminal charge against him for being a pussy? No.

If you call my approach acting like a pussy, I don't care. You won't be a pussy but what you will be doing is denying a mouthy aggressive cunt a victory. Let that sink in.

Sometimes battles are one by the army that feigns a retreat to suck the enemy into an ambush. Again, let that sink in.

You won't be able to change a cunt's mind about you but you won't be giving her ammunition to use against you.

I don't have to communicate with the ex-wife anymore but when I did, it was by court-ordered e-mail.

I started off each e-mail with "Dear _______." I let my words drip with honey but still used the facts to back up whatever I was trying to say.

I would end every message with "Have a great day!" Or "Have a fantastic week." Or I would end with, "I look forward to discussing this more with you." With the last e-mail that I ever had to send, I told her to "Have a great life."

Just like the southern women say, "Bless your heart," that's translated as "fuck you."

You can tell your beautiful bride to go fuck herself when you say "Have a great day." It will make them almost apoplectic with anger.

The ex-wife's responses were always angry ones after that, and entertaining.

My old man would give me advice with kids that would taunt me when I was younger. It didn't sink in till I got older. He would tell me to never let them see me get angry. "If they see you get angry, it encourages them and they will act even worse toward you."

I was still told that I could defend myself if I was physically attacked. Yet as a grew older, I could see his advice about not showing anger would just enrage the assholes. These mouthy cunts are the same way.

It's better to get out of the relationship while at the same time, acting like you are the nicest person in the world.

Mr. Rogers was not a pussy.
Great words of advice to our young alpha males here. Thanks for your time of typing that out, bravo

Ridgeline Defense RD-15 LPR

I finally got to take the LPR to a PRS regional match last weekend. It was kind of a spur of the moment 5hr roadtrip. I'm waiting on a NF 4-16 to show up, so I threw my spare 4-20 on it and had gotten two range trips with appx 200 rounds through it before taking off. Instead buying some "match" ammo, I decided to shoot some Hornady Frontier 5.56 75gr ammo, since I had a couple cases of it laying around since pre-Covid. Not exactly world-beating ammo, ES of 90 over a 55 rd string, but the LPR seemed to shoot it pretty well overall. I have noticed that the barrel on mine seems to like being dirty. Other than a quick throat break in until copper fouling is minimal, I don't go crazy with cleaning usually just patch carbon out with C4. I don't know if its the Frontier ammo, but I've notice that it really settles in around 60'ish rounds after being cleaned.

This was the first time I've ran a 223 at a match. Being a "PRS" match I figured I'd be under-gunned with the 16", but I wanted to shoot with the homies and have some fun. The majority of this match was inside of 700. Even with the ammo choice and the wind that day, I didn't feel like I was giving up much. I came out of it thinking, considering the target sizes, inside of the 650-700 mark, there wasn't really any misses that were on the system that day. Made some hits out to 900 on 66% IPSC, nothing on the 2 targets beyond that (956 & 1041). The 1041 target was like 16.8 an elevation and was a 6.5 - 7.0 wind call, 😆. I was in the ball park with it but was completely impractical in the wind that day. I've got out to 1200 at the home range so it'll be fun to play around with it some more.

I'm really looking for to getting more time with this LPR and getting it setup with my KGM K can and the 4-16. I think its probably safe to say that these rifles just flat out shoot. It was a ton of fun to run a 16" 223 at the match. Maneuvering around props with a lighter and shorter rifle was a riot. Even considering my limited time on the rifle, I have the feeling that I'll probably be grabbing the LPR more often than my 18" 6.5 SP10. It's was just that much more forgiving to shoot it.

Question for you reloaders on Load Dev

Been working on reloads for a 6.5CM.
First ill say I am still new with a lot of this and this is a hunting rifle. Not a precision rifle or a really super high end rifle either. But one that I do enjoy to shoot and hunt with.

Finally starting to get somewhere with help from one of the members here. Has been a huge help.
But I also have another question.
When you head to the range and start shooting. Do you start out cold. and record those groups.
Or do you run some sighters or foulers through the gun to get some heat in it before shooting groups for recording data?

The reason I ask is the 3 charge groups I shot last night all were somewhat consistant.
But the first group the first shot I made went low and opened the group up.
taking that one shot out the group and mean radius of the group would be much much smaller.
So just got me thinking if I should run this group again to see what it does if the rifle has some heat in it first.
Here is my original target.

Here is the same target with the 1st target shot dropped. Which was the first shot made with the rifle cold.

Right now just trying to get a charge weight found so I can start working on seating depth tests to see if I can get a smaller group.

Man, you went in .1gr charge increments. I'd fully expect your next group - if you repeated the test - to be just a touch over 1 MOA.

You have a fairly consistent load there, and that isn't a bad thing...other than it isn't giving you the accuracy you're after. It also testifies a bit to your own shooting consistency.

.1gr increments are a quarter of a single percent difference in charge weight for that cartridge. To expect significant difference in results with minute difference in inputs is a good way to expend extra ccomponents. Maybe try .75 - 1% increments (.3 - .4gr), and you'll be able to cover a much wider range of potential charges that work well in your rifle.

Or, you can keep it at 41.0, and try some seating depth tests if your happy with the velocity results from your initial test.

There's more than one way to be successful at this, which is why we argue in these forums all the time. I've just never had a "good" load that was a quarter percent away in charge weight from a mediocre load - hold up.

New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

Thanks. That is my issue or concern with the NX8. I think it looks good at high magnification but all the reviews say the 2.5 is not great which defeats the point in getting it. I'm leaning towards another MK5 or the Eotech 5-25 with a red dot.

It's not a terrible optic, I have decided to throw one on a currently opticless 556 build. But to me it suffered at both ends, it's more like a 5-18x. Glass quality isn't up to par with the Leupy either IMHO. I've never been all that impressed with Eotech scopes so I can't be of much use there.
