The other thing I didn't mention is using these small cartridges for to mid long range steel which is another thing I do. On a calm day last year I was hitting our 1143Y steel with my CZ527 in 20VT AI and 421Y is fairly easy to do in comparison.
These have low SD, are less noisy, low recoil and rifle upset, long barrel life, are very precise little cartridges, and cheaper to shoot. Heck if you think about it high end 22rf ammo is approaching $30 a box of 50 so I tapped out using it and shoot this gun instead at long range for the challenge of it.

Aside from that I bet Ted could build a heck of a solid pcp air rifle. I like Ted's innovation more than the other co's.

Ok, I've been exceedingly OT so I'll shut up now.

16" intermediate is a sweet spot in a 5.56 if you ask me. I do not care for 16" midlength gas barrels, and if not suppressed 100% or only shooting 1 type of ammo, I would think 16" rifle would be a pain to tune. Don't know for sure as I have never had one. I don't know about 6.5 creedmoor in that configuration though, maybe rifle length is the way to go.

I've killed more than one stray out here that bristled up to me. One was actually significantly larger than the husky in the story (and was part of a pack of 4).

Big difference: No photos and social media 'hero' posts about it.

Feral dogs in packs are a bigger problem for me out here than coyotes.

Northland is a great company to deal with and they keep a good variety of stuff on the shelf. I wanted a bull contour in 24” but didn’t want the lead time, so I called up northland and had a 26” to my door in under a week.

My Costa Rica Tica has neighbors with roosters and hens loose in their yard. Damn Roosters wake up before dawn. But I countered this noisy racket (as well as the barking dogs and occasional loud motorcycle) with a big fan and ear plugs. And the bedroom is located in the back away from the noise.

If you have a gun and are approached by an aggressive dog, who appears intent on confrontation, any of us would shoot it. I own two 6.5 Grendel, and one .308 WC barrel.

They all shoot sub-minute with handloads, not occasionally, but regularly for five shot groups.

None of them will amaze you if you look at it with a borescope (but that doesn't matter if it shoots).

If I wanted another $300 barrel for general hunting, I'd have no problem going back to WC. If I wanted a barrel more for target work...well, I went with Proof for my last 6.5CM build.

I went back this morning and remeasured the take off barrel I got from Land.

The breech diameter is 1.170"... the muzzle is at .928".

So will stick with 1.200" x 4" and straight taper to .900" @ 25" finish / 27" blanks.

Lance out in the shop is playing with the finish on turning the barrels and once we have that figured out... I'll post side by side pic's next to the original I have.

It seems like some basic common sense was ignored here...which is not uncommon these days.

It would be like trusting Lorena Bobbitt on the other side of a glory hole...or letting Casey Anthony babysit your kid.

My experience has been decent with them on small frame builds. All been 5.56 though, no 350. Large frame rifle length gas is another story. They all shoot decent enough, just quite the headache with the gas system length on large frames.

Isn't the Wilson 16" 6.5 creedmoor barrel an intermediate length gas system?
