I wound up with an extra McMillan stock that’s inlet for a 700 short action, sendero barrel and M5 bottom metal. So I started to think that since I live in a straight wall cartridge area I could use it for a 350 legend build using a Terminus Zeus QC action. I thought I could get a pre fit 350 barrel and a 223 barrel to do some cheap plinking. I can’t find a lot of info on a set up like this so does anyone see a problem with this combo? Will a 350 feed from AICS mags for 223 or would it need different followers?

After reading many articles and taking a few steps back. I am starting with case prep. Annealed 100 LC mix head stamp cases with old mans torch set up while using templac for right temp. Unknown firings and annealings. Full length sized and ran through my case trimmer. Seated 10 bullets in empty cases with taper crimp
2.260 OAL. Ran through my magazine in my AR. Went back to measure them and several had pushed out further. So i looked up neck dies and came across forester fl bushing die kit. Is it worth it or just unnecessary money spent. I like the all in one stroke vs swaping out dies.

I’ve installed an arca plate on my proof research glacier TI. It was not easy and basiclly had to have my friend do it because of the hollow voids in the stock. He added JB weld and it has worked great. I want to add arca rails to my other rifles. Any thoughts on adding one to a springfield armory 2020 waypoint flat bottomed and my HS precision rounded bottom rifle. I’m thinking a full length on the 2020 rifle at least. Not sure on which one to order.

I think the brake was put on without lock tite, any ideas on how to get it off without sending it back in?

Any difference in practical accuracy using the same barrel and assuming you bed with loctite?

For you that own the CA 22 Ranger I am curious about some issues I am having.

I know there were some reported extraction issues but I was hoping we were past that by now. My gun shop has been trying to get one in for a good while now and Thursday, they were finally able to get one in. I ran up and snagged it, got home, mounted the scope and cleaned and oiled per website instructions.

I had hoped this was a newer one off the line and wouldn't have the extraction issues. Don't know how new mine is and can't assume this is a newer one off the line even though my dealer is a Christensen Arms dealer and just now getting this.

So here is what mine is doing:



80% of the time, its like the claws have a good hold on it and I have to drop the magazine and pry the empty rounds loose.



About 10% of the time it doesn't get stuck in the claws but falls on top of the magazine:



And then, lastly, about 10% of the time I seem to get a proper ejection.

SO my question on this is: Is this the normal old extraction issues that have been regularly reported or something new. Is there a quick fix for it so I don't have to send the gun back and miss so much time with it?

NEXT UP:

There is a gap between the action and the stock. Also even though the stock screws are in and seem darn tight, the barrel will move from one side of the barrel channel to the other without much effort at all. When doing this the stock along where the action is flexes quite a bit and the gap between the action and stock opens up wider and narrower as the barrel moves around in barrel channel easily.

Since all this occurred straight out of the box, I haven't really had an opportunity to ammo test much but I would expect it not to be great with all the gap and action moving around in the stock.

So is this normal on the stock as well to do this?
