Ive been testing the ThermNight for a while. I have the new TNC335R which is a 384 resolution thermal as well as having a digital day/night Sony Starvis2 sensor. You can flip between digital and thermal by pressing the button on the side. But I prefer to use PIP. It also has a laser range finder that works with the onboard ballistic calculator giving you a disturbed reticle for showing you where to aim for your drop.

Here is a video of me shooting my 13" SCAR17S out to 890 yards. In hind sight I should have used "Dial-In" instead of "Hold Over". You can see the small red aiming reticle but if I had chosen Dial-In, then the entire MILS reticle would shift position to the new aiming point. Then I would have my reticle to know how far off my impacts were for better correction.

I was honestly surprised I could see the IPSC target with no illumination.

I also have the DNT ZULUS and use it on my Ruger 10/22 Charger which I setup for my kids (8 and 4 years old). It is in a chassis with an ARCA rail so it can sit on my APO mini tripod. Both the ZULUS and ThermNight can connect to the App via WiFi and you can live view what the scope sees. The range isnt that far but its great for seeing what my kids are aiming at and making sure they are on target before pulling the trigger. As well as maintaining muzzle discipline.

Dudes, brand new to all this stuff. Trying to figure out the 9000 different reticles and how/when do you want one over the other. Not to mention dialing versus Christmas tree reticles. When do you prefer to dial versus a Christmas tree? Where is this purely personal preference?

Are there times when you want to scope with both options or do you pick a scope that just offers your favorite?

Is it way better to have a caliber specific reticle so all the holdovers are perfect and line up with the correct distances?

Is a standard Christmas tree style in Mills used primarily just to dial?

Used scope it tracks and returns to zero as it should. At 100 yards I hit 32 1/4” high when I dialed 9 mils. It works fine I just replaced it with a new mark4hd hoping for a little more clarity at distance. $600 shipped to your door. I still have the box and have scope coat to throw on it. Just want to inform members here of the outstanding customer support I've had from Cameron at TOP's in the last few weeks.
I was looking for a low cost short range thermal scope for hunting small vermin around my abode.
I've been using my backup L3 scope during the predator off season, but come mid september it's goes back to being a backup scope.
I needed a dedicated scope for the PCP rifle and made a short list to choose from.
All the scopes had reviews on them except the RIX Storm S1, the cheapest and lowest resolution scope on the list.
I looked around and found that TOP's had them in stock so I inquired about it.
Cameron didn't BS me and said this is one of a few scopes he's never had field time with and that he couldn't give me an answer about it's image quality.
I crossed that scope off the list, as I wasn't buying a scope that didn't have any reviews or video content to make a comparison.
Cameron had other plans.
He got in touch with a local shop he sold an S1 to.
That shop owner got in contact with the S1 owner and that S1 owner brought the scope to the shop owner to make a demo video.
