Hadn't seen this discussed yet, and it is starting to bug me just a tad.

This whole business about "one big beautiful bill" for reconciliation (in the House) vs. Two smaller bills in the Senate. The Senate has quickly passed the first of the two smaller bills already, while we await the House "one big" bill. The concern being, the 1st of two smaller Senate bills does not include the provisions to make Trump's temporary tax cuts permanent. The continued fear being that the 2nd of the two bills won't come before the tax cuts expire later this year. It seems like the "Swamp" (i.e. Senate RINOs) want that tax money.

Is this really a big deal, though? Lots of things can happen. The first Senate bill could be "amended," or the conference committee can adopt the House Bill which does include the permanent tax cuts. And, should the tax cuts expire at year's end, how many $$$ are we talking about per tax payer? The media is giving me the impression that these other things (Border, Military, etc. etc.) are Trump's greater financial priorities... not making these tax cuts permanent. I'm not so sure. I can see the Border being a priority, but not all this immediate Military spending. I wonder it the "Military Industrial Complex" is at it again.

Thoughts? And, just out of curiosity, which would you prefer?

1) $5000.00 stimulus check from DOGE savings; or

2) Making the tax cuts permanent.

Recently I broke the bolt on my Sako M995 and as many have noticed they are not longer avaliable via Sako or a 3rd party. I have sent cad off to a Machine Shot to have one custom made because I dont want to through my rifle in the recycle bin due to the money I have invested into it. The other day I realized that I have a target for this and a target for that so I came up with one in an effort to whittle my zero targets down to just one for all my rifles, be in magnified optic, red dot, or iron sights and share it with you all. The torso is mainly used to zero the piggyback red dot at 100 yards but it is sized to replicate a 300 yard c-zone at 100 yards so I can also use it for practice for sling shooting, tripod shooting, and the like.

Used Rim x Barreled action. Barrel is a Hart 1/16 twist cut to 20” threaded 5/8x24. 30moa rail. Barreled by Rachel Precision. Will come with one mag and zermatt action wrench. Roughly 1000rds through it. Did very well at 200-300yds with center x never really shot a bunch of groups with it. Bolt blemishes shown in pic.

The action serial is under 3000. Since many asked bolt pics were sent to zermatt-all good. Action nice and smooth

Hunting coons on Lake Austin in the mid 70's before there were houses, I made a legendary shot one night from a boat using a headlight and Marlin 39A on a coon that was perched in tree up on the Mnt. Bonnell bluff in this picture .

It took forever for the boar coon to kicked and flop down the bluff before falling off the limestone cliff face in the second picture, through the light beam, into the water.
