Spotters Swarovski, vs Hensoldt, vs Kowa, etc

A buddy of mine is looking to get a set of great, not good, GREAT spotters.

Their use will be for ELR, over 2000 yards.

****** The first and most important requirement is to have a Mil reticle available. That's not negotiable.

Second, is a binocular type of eye piece. If available.

This is where the problems start.

Swarovski and Kowa both make fantastic bino style spotters.

Kowa.
What can I say? Great glass, big, stable, various mags available for eye pieces.
And, you can in theory, mix and match if you want to go to mono view. No forehead rest for long term viewing. (Not really sure how important that is)
No picatinny rails.

Swarovski.
Great, really great glass. Bino and mono ocular setups available. 65-100mm main bodies available. Not sure if picatinny rails are doable.

Is there a mil reticle available?
??????

Hensoldt.
Great glass. Neutral color, mil reticle available. Mono view. Picatinny rails available for red dot or LRF pairing.

This begs a question.

What else is out there that has comparable glass, a Mil reticle and possibly bino viewing?

*****?Which ones are easier to spot trace with? ******

Which one has the better ability to resolve impacts at 2000+ yards?

Back in 2021, at the PRE, I overheard a discussion between the Swarovski and the Hensoldt.
Heard the Hensoldt was easier to spot trace.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

LOP AR15 comparo: Entry, A1, A2

I swear I had a graphic stored on my phone that listed the LOP for these stocks. Alas.

And today my google-gu is weak. Few forum posts across the internets just fucking list the LOP. Wtf.

Here’s one (not even sure if there’s an A1 stock in this pic):
1729373465006.png

It appears the A1 is 12.875” and A2 is 13.5” (I did find a number of posts about the A2). But some say the A2 has a 13 5/8” lop.

I’m not sure why there’s a discrepancy other than maybe people have triggers that have a slightly different resting position? Not that 1/8” matters that much, but it’s nice to know.

Can someone verify these numbers and add the LOP for the entry stock?

Visually, for those noobs who are learning snd don’t know what I’m talking about, here they are below.

New build concept

I’m planning a new build sometime in probably about 6 months or so, and I thought I would share the concept and see if anyone has any input.

I want a lightweight DMR style rifle for 1,000 yards and under that can still work well in close quarters, and also relatively lightweight and concealable. The concept is two fold, a no frills rifle that will break down in to a backpack for easy and discreet transport (I would like to try and get in to some hiking and maybe back country camping/hunting next summer/fall) and also something that can be used in an SHTF type scenario yet still break down in to a discrete bag to keep profile down. Mostly it’s an excuse to start playing with 6mm ARC.

So what I am thinking is a standard carbine lower except with a FAB defense R.A.P.S. Carbine stock, but the upper is the star, I’m thinking about using a quick detach barrel kit from Cry Havoc Tactical and an 18 inch 6mm ARC barrel and pretty basic MLOK free float hand guard and low profile gas block. I’m undecided on the bipod. I’m thinking an Arken EP-8 1-8x28 LPVO scope.

Broken down the entire package would only be 18 inches, and whatever the muzzle device is.

What do you think?

Early model EOTech MPO.

Model 557 sight, G23 FTS magnifier.

A little salty; works great, clear lenses. I bought it from a member here a while back. Used it for about 4-500 rounds on a suppressed 11.5" 5.56. Plans have changed, and it's been taking up space for a while.

-XTR II/similar, mil with or without mounting solution
-Griffin SR/Aero/similar 10" handguard,
-Griffin taper mount muzzle device 5.56
