M640V
M340V
X300V

I have 5 NIB the X400VH, which integrates with SureFire's revolutionary MasterFire Rapid Deploy Holster for quick deployment and instant-on light activation, an ideal combination in a low-light, high-stress situation. Even better, the X400VH features our innovative V-Series head, which provides both white-light and infrared illumination, plus an integral Class 1 infrared laser aiming device. Choose between 350 lumens of visible, tactical-level light or twist the bezels self-locking selector to switch to generate 120 mW of IR illumination for use with NVGs. The infrared laser provides a highly visible dot for aiming during stealth operations where focusing on iron sights with NVGs can be challenging. When it comes to sheer mission/weapon compatibility the X400V dominates in the dark.

Carrying a folding knife in a pocket? Instant solution for protecting your pockets and making access to the knife faster.

So, like most people here are doing, you are carrying a folding knife as part of your regular EDC, right? Doesn't matter if they are passive swivel types, slick assisted openers, or automatics, they are simply the best choice for complete concealability.

Yeah, yeah, I get it. They have belt clips built into them. But the clips on many models, even high end knives, are not exactly reliable on the long run and I know many people who have lost knives and flashlights relying on the clip alone. One of my fellow contractors had his brand new Fenix PD35 TAC light wiggle loose from it's clip and drop over 3 stories from a rooftop HVAC unit we were working on and it's headcase shatter completely. He ordered a new one and I reminded him to get a Fenix hardshell holster for it as well. I actually gave him one of mine because I have a shitload of them and it doesn't hurt to have a few extras on standby... And clips still stand out and anybody trying really hard will notice that you are carrying a knife.

Pockets, especially dominant hand side pants pockets, are the best way to carry a folder for fast deployment if need be. But that presents it's own set of problems. One, a heavy duty folder continuously riding around in your pocket is going to wear a hole right through them after a while. And two, they are loose inside, which means they can settle horizontally into the bottom of your pocket and that makes reaching for it a bit awkward, especially if your work pants have just been freshly laundered and are a bit tight.

Well, that is not a problem anymore.

INTRODUCING: THE REVOLUTIONARY POCKET PROTECTOR. Nah, just kidding. It is just an ordinary faux-leather smartphone and passport/ID top opening wallet that you can get at any discount store. Remove any of the partitions inside normally set aside for IDs and such because you are not using it as an ID case, shear off any top straps if they have any. Then take one of those cheapo nylon drawstring bookbags, cut a nice big piece of fabric out of it, fold it up tight and press it into the bottom of the "holster" to beef up the bottom a bit, and now you got a perfect inside the pants pocket carrier for your heavy duty knife.

shopping.jpeg

The carrier keeps your pockets from wearing out. No more ruined work pants.

The additional bulk of the carrier expands your pocket a bit, and makes reaching into it much easier too.

The added tension and smaller space in the carrier also keeps that folder upright all the time with the swivel end down. You can be assured that thing is always in the position for instant drawing.

And on top of all that, these things are cheap. If they get buffed up and worn to tatters over time, simply get a new one...

This is my SOG Seal XR, a beast of a folding combat knife, inside my ad hoc pocket carrier which is around $2.50 or so and takes about 2 minutes to modify.

Buffer trouble.

Hey Everyone,

I am having some trouble sorting out correct buffer spring and weight.

Can anyone point me to a good troubleshooting thread or resource?

I have a 10.5, pistol gas, 300BO. I started with a carbine buffer and spring and had short stroking trouble. At the advice of a LGS, I replaced the carbine buffer with an H3. It still short strokes. Brass ejects but it doesn't pick up another round.

I also have an 18 inch, rifle gas, .223 Wylde that had the same problem.

What do you all recommend?

Thanks

Gunsmith for 1911 work?

I have a couple of 70 series pistols that need some work (barrel fitting / fit slide stop, mag catch / RMS cut on an existing BoMar) and a second that just needs an RMS cut (Novak).

Nighthawk says 6 months and $1500 for the first one (I supply the barrel). $450 for the second slide cut; but in both cases they only want to cold blue unless they can refinish the whole slide.

Anyone have any recommendations for someone that is going to do at least as well as Nighthawk and be faster?

Anyone have a recommendation for someone to simply cut the second slide? I have seen DSC mentioned here and there - any other recommendations?

Trigger won’t reset

I have a bergara bmr 22LR. FOR a couple years. When I got it I installed a triggertech primary on it and she has performed flawlessly for over a year or longer. Couple weeks ago I installed a TT DIAMOND in it , and once in, the trigger would not reset when I cycled the bolt. I removed the TT DIAMOND and put the TT PRIMARY back into it. That is the same trigger that worked flawlessy for a long while and now it’s doing the same thing. It seemed like if I unscrew the action screws a little loose then it will reset the trigger a bit better but now 100%. Would anybody know the cause of this? Could it be due to the stock not being pillar bedded and action screws squeezing a little too much?
(Both trigger worked well this same day when installed in my HMR PRO)

6arc bolt gun

If you were building a 6arc bolt gun, what barrel length and twist rate would you go for on a dedicated coyote rifle? Majority of my shots are 80 to 150, i don’t think I’ll ever be able to shoot past 300 in my area.

Is there any good factory ammunition? I llike to keep the nicer pelts so big holes aren’t desired.

I won a custom bolt action rifle and I’m drawn to the 6arc (and 22creed)

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I have owned an FN SPR A1 for over a decade. It’s been the best rifle I have ever owned. It’s Topped with the older NF with the NPR2 reticle. I always enjoy getting behind it and cutting sub Half MOA groups or dropping deer in their tracks.

After the first year I called FN to check the serial number for date of manufacturing. I was surprised to find out it was one of the first two hundred built. The first two hundred were built in the Winchester custom shop. Yes I was blown away!!

its been the go to rifle when the temperature drops and the bucks are chasing does.

Are there many SPR lovers around anymore?
Does anyone still use them in matches?
If there are share a memory or what are you doing with your SPR!

I know things have changed and there are many new platforms to choose from. Just thought I would see how many are still around the hide!
