Hey y'all I'm new here and I have some questions for the experts.

I have a Remington 700 build that was put together by a supposed prodigy gun smith in my area for a .5 moa experience. (Bartlein barrels, WTO switch lug, masterpiece arms MPA chassis, the whole deal.) I have NOT experienced the desired results with this $5,000+ "special build", yet I have seen those results from my stock Remington .270 that I have owned for over a decade. At this point I'm looking to sell my custom rifle in exchange for a sub moa AR10 build in either 6.5 cm or .308. The practical use I'm looking for out of this new rifle is primarily whitetail hunting out to 300-400 yards and recreational steel target practice out to 850-1000.

If anyone has recommendations for a budget friendly sub moa build it would be extremely appreciated. I do intend to keep my Spuhr mount.

Is it worth upgrading from the hornady ELDM to Berger LRHT?

This would be going from 140 eldm to 144 lrht in my 6.5 CM and 108 ELDM to 109 LRHT in my 6 ARC. I do not compete, just shoot steel and varmints a lot out to 750 on private property. Soon will have access to a 1000+ yard range (Ben Franklin Range).

Haven't necessarily had any issues with the ELDM and I started my reloading journey with them. Just seeking opinions if the cost difference is worth it at ranges of 500+

I had an interesting meeting this week which caused me to thing about competition rifle (target) shooting as a global industry. And while I shoot regularly and reload (recreational) I didn't It have the answers that we being asked of me. I figured I would ask here and seek some wisdom.

1. Is the sport growing? I assume it is growing (F-Class, Palma, PRS, Benchrest..etc)
2. If it IS growing it is global, or US only?
3. Are there any estimates of participation number either US only, or better yet, globally for discipline listed above?
4. What type of global viewership/spectators are these events drawing and do they generate revenue?
5. Is there/are there an organization (s) that "own" these events or govern them?

What I am getting at...is there a world where you could see these events becoming a larger spectator sport? For example:

TV deals, venues that attract paying spectators etc..I have seen F-Class events on YouTube that have taken on a semi-offciial production value with commentators and spectator aids like digital targets...

Any thoughts, comments and information on any of this would be appreciated

I am in the process of having a PRS centerfire rifle built. Been shooting PRS and NRL 22 with a Rim X on a 25” 1.20” straight taper. Would like feedback on barrel length for a 6.5 Creedmoor. What length and contour barrel would you suggest?

Have a sweet, lightweight AR10 build in 6.5 Creedmoor. I plan to hunt, compete, and shoot ELR (out to 1200 yards). I have a Primary Arms Glx Apollo on it now and though i love the speed of hits with a slaved Radius rangefinder, I have really been disappointed with the glass.

Following are key features I'd like in the scope:
Relatively Lightweight - must be less than 30 ounces, preferably closer to 22

Tree Reticle
Great Glass
3-5 low end Magnification
18+ top end magnification
FFP
Ideally, a tiny middle dot
Prefer to spend less than more, but willing to pay for quality/performance differences - $1k-$2kish
Zero Stop

Of the list in the Title, I have the LHT on an 18" 6mm ARC and really like it. However, I don't love the shiny finish nor the mushy turrets, or limited elevation after installing zero stop for use on the AR10. Kinda silly reasons I suppose.

Love to know thoughts from those with experience/preferences!
