Trijicon's Outstanding customer service! (ACOG TA11 - TA110)

I would like to commend Trijicon on their great customer service.
I returned a ACOG TA110 for a couple of minor issues (nothing that prevented the scope from working - just me being a bit anal LOL).
I love the scope but knew I would be bothered.
The service team at Trijicon took care of me and I couldn't be happier.

Firearms Feinwerkbau 300s .177 Target Air Rifle

This is the gun that started it all for me in 1986 in ROTC. I learned 3 Position shooting with this rifle in high school. Those were the days.
These were an Olympic grade pellet rifle in the early 80s and will punch a single hole at 20 meters. Out of nostalgia, I purchased this one when I taught my son to shoot 13 years ago. It functions flawlessly. Piston is still pretty fresh though I haven’t chronographed it. It also includes a new piston cup as well as a few extra front sight inserts. If you are unfamiliar with these, it’s a single shot side lever. .177cal pellet. Designed specifically for 20meter shooting. Weighs about 10lbs
And it’s still a tac driver rifle. Still prints single hole groups if you have it in you.
Rear peep sight is original to the gun.
I ok’d it with my son so we are selling it to fund a new build.
Asking price is $850 shipped. I figured I’d post here before eBay only because I knew this crowd better.
Or WTT for an action. Preferably Origin, but open to others that take readily available prefits. anything that proof sells prefits for. ARC CDG, Defiance etc etc. New or clean Solus. .
Also open to short action REM 700chassis, KRG, Solus, mdt

Adjustable vs fixed butt stock

So I have abandoned bolt guns cause I just wanna go fast now, and I am just not into PRS matches anymore I been wanting to do field matches as a second shooter. Cause I wanna go fast.

So I have built 2 gas guns one in 223 and 6 ARC.

Seekins DMRs is in 6 ARC it’s waiting on final assembly

223 Lego build with a bunch of parts.

But I have noticed that the buttstock on the 223 have a good bit on side to side play in it. So I am debating on switching to a fixed stock.

Wanted to ask anyone perspectives on a loose buttstock for a fixed one and if it had issues on POI shifts from zero?

Help Identifying M1 Garand IHC Receiver

I own a IHC M1 that I purchased from CMP in 2005 that I believe is a LEAD rebuild. The serial number is 4,550,6XX. It has an LMR barrel dated 4-53, and all the major components (Bolt, trigger housing, op rod, hammer, gas plug, etc.) are IHC marked. The stock has a circle "P" in front of the pistol grip and the number "3162" in the barrel channel. While this rifle has a postage stamp style receiver marking that reads "U.S. RIFLE / CAL. 30M1 / INTERNATIONAL / HARVESTER/ 45506XX", the side of the receiver is marked "D6528291-E" and "LEAD 10-64".

From what I can find, receiver drawing number D6528291-“E” was assigned to HRA rifles.

Has anyone ever come across a IHC receiver marked like mine?

Anyone been getting texts/emails to vote absentee in another state ?

Like the title says - I’ve been co tacted on work and private phone and email to vote absentee in FL. I live in MI .
The last one today even listed my supposed FL address and a sample ballot .

Against my base instincts I did call my county Sheriff to report multi state voter fraud and probable identity theft.
We all know the answer to that call- absolutely nothing they can do about it .

Anyone else been getting these - not just random spam /junk but things with your “supposed “ address and an application to vote in another state ?

Weirdness - first shot out of mag always low

So here's something I've never seen before.

Was dialing in a new load for an MR762 I've had for ages, using 178 ELD-X with Varget, and got this repeatable situation where the first shot in every 8-shot string was consistently low. I only brought one mag to the range, so this is the same mag loading only one string at a time. My first thought initially was it was a strong cold bore offset, but after I loaded the second string, it repeated, and then the next.

Maybe it's the mag doing something to the first cartridge? But still, isn't that weird?

Real inflation - it's a lot higher than you might think!

I did some research on this, before I found this video, and this lines up exactly with 40% of our M2 money supply being pumped into the economy, mostly thanks to Kamala's tie-breaking vote.

By the end of 2020, M2 had increased by 25% over pre-pandemic levels. By 2021, it was nearly 40% higher. So that 40% figure matches M2 growth pretty well.

People will argue that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 2019 to mid-2023 shows a cumulative inflation rate of around 20-25%, depending on the source. But if you look at the true cost of living, it's actually just over 40%.

The really bad news is we're triple fucked: not only have prices gone up, but we're taxed based on inflation while wages remain stagnant.

And the fact that these liberal white women working for tips don’t actually care that Trump wants to make their tips tax-free— actually blows my mind: they just want abortions, which is ridiculous because it's a states' rights issue. Trump has never really taken a strong stance in the anti-abortion fight and has even declined to endorse a full ban.

And honestly, when you think about it, a billionaire playboy should be in favor of it—but I’ll never accuse liberal white women of thinking.

Just some pretty pictures!!

Thanks to RTH1800 I got the right Unertl bases and finally had some time to fit the scope!

Bore sighted it at about 200 and hopefully will fire this week to dial in.

It’s a .220 Swift. So not a big caliber. But barrel is like new. And pretty sure it will shoot bugholes with a bit of dialing in Some handloads.

Got to find a way to display this with my ‘52.

They are like peas and carrots!!!!

Not many off the rack rifles more beautiful than a Pre-64 Model 70!! This example from 1951 and pretty minty. Mostly just rack wear.

Cheers and thanks again RTH!

Maven RS.4 5-30x56 Review

Maven has some of the sexiest looking scopes on the market in terms of build quality, materials, and styling. But don't let a hot body fool you. Like an exotic sports car the Maven RS.4 has serious engineering under the hood.

The RS.4 is Maven's scope for PRS competition or long range Western hunting. It offers many features optimized for long range enthusiasts. Maven offers it in MIL or MOA with a variety of Christmas tree and specialty reticles. I got the CFR-MIL reticle which is similar to the PR2 reticle on the Leupold Mk5.

The turrets are oversized and large diameter to provide quick turns to adjust dope and fine adjustments. The turret have a hidden tool-less locking top to allow the user to reset them. Under the elevation turret you'll find a black metal ring that can be dropped to engage a pin on the turret base to engage a precise zero-stop.

All the nobs and rings turn smoothly. The turrets offer precise tactile clicks that audible. The reticle illumination is powered by a CR2032 coin battery and is split between red and green settings with an off in-between brightness settings. The illumination dial layout is a little unusual with the highest settings in both red and green are on the same side of the dial. Unfortunately it's illumination is only so-so. Only the very central cruciform of the reticle is illuminated with a faint glow on the Christmas tree. The RS.4's brightest isn't noon-day daylight which a liability for certain lighting conditions.

The RS.4 has ED glass which gives it excellent sharpness, clarity, and color balance. Chromatic aberration was greatly minimized in all but the highest contrast conditions. Even in those extreme cases, I noted an orange fringe rather than a purple or green one. The eyebox was a bit unforgiving, even with the magnification dialed down to 10x. At 30x it's very tight, so it's imperative the shooter have a firm and comfortable cheek weld on their rifle.

The RS.4 is a beautifully designed scope with long range shooters in mind. Especially the kind of shooter who step out of their custom Cybertruck wearing their ironed T.A.D. outfits and matching Canadian Goose parka.
